A strange place ”
We checked into Kangpheka Resort for one night as we were on a road trip through Thailand and needed a place to stay. we arrived at the resort pretty late in the evening, and were a little disappointed when the staff had no clue that we were to check in. After calling the Agoda helpline and struggling to get help, we finally managed to find someone at Agoda who explained to the hotel that we had a reservation that was fully paid for. We had booked a cottage and it was a strange place to stay. most of the lights in the room werent working and the shower water refused to go down the drain. the room had a musty smell and it was quite obvious that the rooms had not been cared for very much. The pool was also unusable. The restaurant onsite was fairly nice and did some decent Thai food. we discovered the next morning was that we were in the middle of a strange menagerie with deer in an enclosure, horses roaming in front of the hotel and a few ponies in a pen. The resort feels like someone's concept of a western-style (gunfight at OK corral) resort that's gone to seed.
