Very clean, very new Hotel”
I really enjoyed my stay at Kanokan, I would stay again. During the night I felt that AC was not working so I went to the front desk and within 5mins I was in a new room, they were very helpful staff. If you are a backpacker and traveling without a car or prepared to rent a bike I would probably choose a Hotel right on the river, this Hotel is about 500m on the other side of the main road, about 3min drive to the main bar strip. Overall lovely place will go back again.
Great location / nice rooms”
We were there because of the hotel that we intended to go was not available, Kanchanaburi province was celebrating the 30th anniversary of the River Kwai Bridge Festival and the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II. The hotel is standard with a good bed, a very good shower and clean,The room is so big and nice, and it is more comfortable more than I expected. My husband siad that the room better than 5 star hotel that we have been in KL. Breakfast included, but they are not good for me and my husband if compared to many place that we have been before.
Kanokan Place is a very new building, so you get a nice and comfortable room. Toilet and shower are well equipped. The only thing I was missing was a safe in the room. The hotel is situated a little bit outside of the centre, but quiet and they have many parking lots, comfortable when you arrive by car. The included breakfast is not such a great for foreigners, mostly Thai food, but also bread, egg, sausages.
Really nice and clean hotel”
A typicall business hotel mostly visited by Thais. We stayed for two nights during our Thailand trip and were probably the only european and non business guest. But nonetheless we enjoyed our stay a lot. The hotel was really clean and the staff that spoke english was really helpful with planning our trips to places of interests. The breakfast was mostly thai only, so don't expect a huge buffet. You can also do your laundry dor about 20 baht. The hotel itself is located outside the center of Kanchanaburi which was great for us since we were not really interested in partying all night long.
This is a very good hotel, staff really friendly and jolly, your own transport a must, about four miles from river kwai bridge, big car park and easy to find using google maps. I will be certainly staying again.
A good get away place.”
I was very happy with everything about the Kanokan Hotel.
Nice hotel with free wifi”
stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, and it was ok. the rooms were nice and big with a balcony, and the staff was friendly but didnt speak to good english. the breakfast on the other hand wasnt very good. it was quite poor actually. the wifi worked perfect, and sights like bridge over river kwai was very close
New built hotel ”
It's a newly built hotel with clean and spacious rooms, bathroom clean as well. Good service with a smile every morning. Breakfast was quite good, although it was thai style. By the way, 99% of customers were Thai, it couldn't be different. The hotel is located 5/10 minutes by tuk tuk from the city center. Not a big problem, as the reception called for us every time we needed a tuk tuk for the cost of 50/100 Baht. I am planning to stay there again on my next trip to Kanchanaburi
This hotel is located in the city of Kanchanaburi which is very close to the tourist attractions. The hotel is so new and clean. Their staffs are very helpful. I recommened you to stay in this hotel because it s easy to find some delicious foods. And at this price, i think it unbelievable.
Lots of rooms with parking, but poor breakfast”
We were driving to Kanchanaburi, this hotel is about 2.5km from the city centre, not too far if you are driving. It has a large car park within the hotel so you don't need to worry about where to put your car. Room is quite big, most with balcony with nice views. Unfortunately the breakfast wasn't that impressing, it is so-call buffet but choice is so limited and taste is just so so.
sadly disappointed for the price”
stayed here for loy katong and visited again for the river kwai festival. their wasn't much else available that i knew would be ok for a similar price. kanchanaburi is lacking on this syle of hotel and this could be really good if the management got there act together a bit more and promoted it to western visitors. the breakfast is very disappointing. nothing very appetizing for the westerner. last time their was no hot water and was told that because it was a cloudy day then the solar system didn't generate enough power to heat the water. today was a very hot and cloud free day and sadly the water was tepid. this needs to be rectified. if i'd have bought one of these apartments then i would be livid if you had to put up with this every day. woke up in the morning and the sink was crawling with ants, when i looked they was in our bed too.
MODERN APARTMENT BLOCK, RESIDENCE”
Kanchanaburi is badly lacking a modern up market hotel. I've stayed in many locally as have family there and think it is also a good tourist location so bring visitors to the area to visit the war graves and museums. Kanokan place albeit far from perfect is about the best of the bunch. It is in a new residency block just out of town. The rooms are clean. It's a bed for the night, that's about all really. Some observations are they have some sort of ant problem. I stayed in a ground floor room and as before when I stayed upstairs noted small ants crawling about, even in the refrigerator. They have a plumbing problem as you can hear gurgling at all hours from the drainage and the solar powered hot water system needs sorting out or at least a back up if their is a cloudy day. When I was there it was clear but hot water was still lacking. Breakfast for the westerner is not worth bothering with. I don't think the management/owners take note on any reviews as points I had raised previously haven't been addressed.
Value for money, a good hotel for a practical stay”
The stay at the hotel was as expected, due to the fact that this is a typical Chinese // Thai style hotel. Which is clean, easy to reach and comfortable enough. Travellers have to understand that these kind of hotels serve a local breakfast and that the staff is friendly but locally trained (=no English). A good hotel for a 2 days stay at Kanchanaburi.
This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, beautiful rooms and furniture, the staff were exceptional. If I ever visit Bangkok again this will be the first place try. 10/10 for this wonderful building & staff.
We have stayed 1 night there. The hotel is brand new. There was problem with shower but it was sorted out promptly. The room was nice but it had view on a car park. The staff has problem with communication in English. The hotel is located far from the center and unless you have a car I would not recommend it. Food at the hotel was good and at reasonable price. Overall the hotels is good but the problem is the location if you do not travel by car.
New Hotel but a little out of the way”
I don't really have anything negative to say about this Hotel, only that being from England I think they could have made a little more effort with the breakfast it was geared up for Asians, the only thing was toast for the western tastes. The Hotel is a little away from the centre and transport is needed. The Hotel itself is new with good friendly helpful staff, nice peaceful nights sleep and clean.
IF ONLY THE MANAGEMENT/OWNER WOULD READ THE REVIEW”
It is a great shame that the management or owner doesn't read the reviews. They are on Agoda and if it was my hotel would be reading the criticisms and putting it right. This is virtually a brand new hotel and with the area lacking a fresh modern hotel this place could soar away and be fully booked. Although out of the main tourist area, if you had a car it would be no problem at all as their is ample parking space which is lacking in the main tourist part. The rooms are modern and clean but the bathrooms although modern design have enough room to be luxurious but the cleaners don't seem to have a clue as I can see all of the chrome work in months to come stained and an eye sore. A bit of spit and polish would set it right off. They still don't seem to have addressed the hot water issue as the water on occassions was only tepid. The sink waste pipe was also dripping on the floor splashing your feet. The breakfast in my opinion was disgusting, the orange juice had so much melted ice in it that it was undrinkable, the eggs were stone cold and their were ants running around everywhere. When it was mentioned to staff I was looked at like I was complaining about something I shouldn't. If they don't want Westerners in the hotel then don't advertise in English on Agoda.
Very Quiet and Safetye Hotel”
This Hotel is very safety as they required access card to access each floor. They have it's own restaurant for typical/common thai food. The Room is bigger than what I expected with the co-responding price.
Cleand + Nice”
Room is clean, good if you have car. Hotel a little far from town.
Nice hotel but far from the action”
The hotel is a very nice place and good value for money. It is far from the action, and you will need a car or motorcycle to get around. The hotel food is average. The staff were nice to let us check in early. The Internet connection is very fast.
Free Wi-Fi in all rooms!
