Beautiful set up”
I started my nepal journey from this hotel and ended it there again I appreciated the place more on my way back The building is beautiful in detail with beautifully maintained garden which is a set up for your morning yoga class The morning yoga class was my favorite feature of the place Location is very convenient to thamel center. But you can come back to the tranquillity I would love to come back

Loved the hotel”
Simply fell in love with the hotel. It's very clean and in an excellent location. Staff are nice and friendly. It might be slightly expensive from other hotels, but felt it was worth staying there. Very Nepali temple style architecture, felt home at the little garden in front, where tea and drinks are served. Will recommend this to anyone.

Excellent”
Very cool architecture & decor, all the way from the intricate exterior walls to the cutlery in the rooms & restaurant. The whole place is peaceful & quiet, a refuge from the chaotic margs just outside the hotel. Boyfriend says place starts to look creepy at night. My room was massive & had quite abit of unused space, but floors are still kept clean & squeaky. They don't advocate the use of plastic which probably explains why complimentary bottled water was not provided (although there was a brass pot in the room with mineral water as they claimed). Bathtub was clean & felt amazing to soak into after my long bus ride from Pokhara. Staff were attentive & hospitable, always by the phone. They even brought me an extra pillow at midnight. There's even a shoe cleaning basket in the room, probably used when the chambermaid comes by. Breakfast pancakes deserve a special mention.

A True Nepali Experience!”
I stayed for three nights at the Kantipur Temple House as I awaited the arrival of a friend. I was attracted by the Nepali architecture, the quiet location and the morning yoga classes. I could not have been happier with my choice! Each morning I awoke, enjoyed an organic coffee on the patio before the 8am yoga class. The breakfast service as excellent and provided perfect nourishment for a day of exploring the courtyards and alleys of the historic district of Kathmandu This area is such a unique experience that allows visitors a experience of feeling how Nepal has been for centuries. It is both chaotic and beautiful, and after several hours of taking it all in, it is wonderful to be able to retreat to a quiet and comfortable hotel. Kantipur Temple House aesthetically matches Kathmandu which I greatly prefer over modern hotels that would feel like I was leaving the place I came to see. The food is excellent and the staff were extremely attentive. The rooms do not provide a lot of sunlight, but this is the traditional design of homes in Kathmandu and provided a quiet, cool place to relax/ nap during the heat of the day. And, quiet cannot be overrated in Kathmandu! I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel , wonderful staff in peaceful pocket”
What a lovely stay we had here. It is a peaceful respite tucked just south of Thamel. Every time we walked through the gates we felt we left the chaos of Kathmandu behind. Yes, the room we had was a bit dark in the daytime but we enjoyed sitting in our courtyard window seat and reading. All the staff were very friendly, especially the dining room servers. We enjoyed the food here a lot - breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious, if a bit western. Dinner we ate off the Nepali/Indian menu and enjoyed our meals a lot. After we checked out, we missed the vibe so we went back and ate here yet again. Highly recommended for the staff, the beautiful Newari architecture and the feeling of it being a world away from the chaos just outside the gate.

Great service and location ”
We were visiting Nepal in winter and really appreciated the extra effort put into making guests as comfortable as possible, from the bed warmers to the nightly provision of hot water bottles. Staff are attentive, thoughtful and prompt. The hotel is beautiful and located very conveniently within walking distance of Durbar Square, shops and good food. It's also peaceful and clean, a nice refuge from the dusty, noisy streets.
