Very special hotel”
Karma Sanctum Soho is an amazing hotel. Perfect for any rock music fans. We stayed there for my partner's 40th birthday and enjoyed it very much! Great decor of the hotel including rooms, downstairs restaurant and the rooftop bar - everything you'd expect from a boutique hotel. The staff was amazingly helpful. We arrived way too early before check-in, but, we were offered a room straight away and were even given a voucher for 2 complimentary drinks - sipping on them in the hot tub later that evening felt fab! After check out we were able to leave our bags and collect them later . My tiny little complaint would be the fact that the (admittedly suuuper king size) bed had 2 separate mattresses, not very comfortable, but not a major issue either. Otherwise the rooms were quiet (impressive considering location!), comfortable and had really nice decor. I'd definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking for something a bit more special than a typical chain hotel. Thanks for an awesome stay!
Cozy and centrally located”
We booked an overnight stay at the Sanctum Soho to spend two days in London over a long weekend. After arriving hours before check-in to drop off our things, we were offered an upgrade and the opportunity to go to our room right away. Staff were friendly and efficient during check-in and in each subsequent interaction. For a hotel in such a fantastic location (we saw a few shows in the West End and did plenty of shopping), it's on a relatively quiet street. The room was equipped with a small bar, cozy bed, and nice, full-sized bathroom. The airplane bath fixtures were a cool touch, as were the pebble stone walls, and recessed lighting -all design features that weren't too demanding and therefore relaxing. Free wifi, safe, adequate closet: check, check, check. All imperative, yet not taken for granted. We really enjoyed our stay.
Cool but friendly”
Sanctum Soho is a great place to stay for a trip to the West End. There's a Rock'n'Roll theme throughout, from the music played in the bar and the very stylish decor, down to the magazines in the rooms. It's dark and lush and unashamedly cool but above all always friendly and welcoming. We stayed in one of the upstairs suites, which was roomy, quiet and very clean. The service was friendly and attentive beyond the call of duty. The location is also a big plus, being just off Regent Street and only a 5 minute walk to Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Street and 10-15 minutes to Leicester Square and Chinatown. We will certainly be back in the future. Highly recommended!
Perfect for couples and for West End”
Located on the edge of SOHO right off Regent Street, it was the perfect location for us since it is close to shopping and lots of restaurants, as well as the West End theatres. The hotel is cool with a bunch of music related art decor. The room was not large but was decent size given London. The staff was friendly and helpful. We liked the rooftop terrace as well.
ideally located, very calm hotel”
I really enjoyed my stay in this perfectly located, very calm hotel! It has a funny interior though (might not be to everyone's taste with a bathroom all in black...); and I had THE VERY BEST BREAKFAST for ages in the Sanctum Soho Hotel (although slightly delayed as the buffet was only after 8 am, but this seems to have been accidentally)
Excellent Location!”
You couldn't ask for a better located boutique hotel than Sanctum Soho, everything you could want for a day in London is on your door step. Add to that the lovely rooms and comfortable beds and everyone is on a winner. I would definitely stay here again.
Exceptional”
Of the hotels I've stayed in overseas, this is one of the most expensive, but I'm not the type to go out of my way for luxury, but when I showed up to check in to the hotel, they upgraded me to a suite for free. The location is the absolute best. Access to all the best shopping, food, and nightlife. An amazing trip and an amazing stay at the Karma Sanctum Hotel.
Perfect location”
I booked the Santum Soho as we were out at the thetre and wanted it as a treat from My husband. The location is great, close to so many bars and restaurants and Carnaby Street. Our room was small but normal for a london hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a wet room. We did not use the roof top bar or the restaurants so can't comment but had a wander in the morning and the roof bar looked like it would have been fun. Minor irritations: no shower cap and it was a waterfall shower so you couldn't just have a wash without washing your hair ( I could have called for one apparently bt a bit late when you are already in the bathroom.) There is no tea and coffee making facilities (as the owner wants people to use the restaurants). I missed my morning cup of tea and didn't fancy spending £3.50 for on downstairs. The TV was on the wall to the side of the bed so if you wanted to watch something you got a crick in the neck. But these are minor and we had a great stay.
Unique Concept - Fab Location”
We stayed 3 nights in the "purple" suite. The staff was exceptionally helpful, especially at check-in as we were delayed on a train from France (due to "industrial action"). The room was as unique as the pictures online show it to be. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of space to spread out. Bathroom was roomy though could use a little bit more shelf space. TV was behind a mirror which made for challenging watching in the morning, but the tub was better used in the evening. Rooms have AC if you like to sleep cooler. The location is outstanding. We did not hear hardly any street noise - being one block over from Regent Street. Access to all the cool alley shops and restaurants in SoHo left us wanting to spend more time to explore. Access to the Underground at Oxford or Piccadilly Circus was about a 3-5 minute walk. Ubers also had no problems getting to the hotel. We would recommend and would stay here again on another visit.
Awesome location and still quiet ”
We loved the location just off Regent street and towards Soho. We were pleasantly surprised of how quiet it was during the evenings and nights. Next time we go to London we will go back to Sanctum!
Exceptional”
Totally awesome place to stay in London. From the minute you step through the entrance doors, The Sanctum has a buzz about it. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have a funky vibe about them. The staff are so welcoming too and the food superb.
Open your Senses and Let It Ride !!!”
What an amazing place with so much to see and feel , real wild beauty of combination of Rock attitude and Glamorous style in the heart of Soho Wonderful Must to be in London
Conveniently located near Piccadilly Circus & a bus stop”
A nice boutique hotel conveniently located near the busy Piccadilly Circus and the trendy Carnaby street (practically just next door). There is a Pret A Manger just around the corner that opens from 6.45am & so it becomes our daily source of breakfast (our preference is to sample the local food outside the hotel as much as we can including breakfast). The hotel is styled rather similar to a Hard Rock cafe. Dark wall papers, rock star photos etc. with wooden flooring. Ok with us, but it doesn't appeal my mother that much. The room itself is rather small. We wonder the need of having a bar counter with two bar stools in such a tight space. The only windows that the room has, are covered with odd-looking window stickers that look as if they had been there for many decades (completely unique, on the opposite end of the overall rock star theme). Once the sofa bed is opened, there is hardly any space for a person behind the bar counter and the bar stools have to be moved elsewhere. Again if there was no sofa bed, we would probably spend our time elsewhere else rather than facing the odd-looking windows, which by the way are facing nearby buildings. If view from the window is your criteria, look at other options (though be careful; what they post may not be what you get -- see our review on Park Plaza Westminster Bridge). You may also want to be extra careful in the bathroom. Not only the tiles are in dark tone, the glass panel that separates the bath tub and the basin is not fixed so there is always a chance that it swings outside towards the basin and that may create an unpleasant bang or it breaks if you are unlucky.
Great location ”
This hotel was right in the heart of of London. Great hotel staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We stayed here two nights and it was in a great location with Hamleys and M&M world minutes walk away. Tour bus stop also at the end of the street. Handy to tubes idea for spot.
Such an amazing place!!”
We stayed here not so long ago & after a long flight back from San Francisco all we wanted to do was sleep , the room we where given was compact but that's all we needed , bed , shower ,. The bed has got to be one of the comfiest I've ever slept in , the shower / wet room was dark , but that's was the style of the room , the hotel itself couldn't be better placed slap bang in the middle of everything . The restaurant was great they had a wide variety of drinks on offer & the breakfast was superb. But the icing on the cake is there rooftop bar / jacuzzi area , Great if you want to get away from the hustle & bustle of the main streets . I really do love this hotel & mark has done a great job in turning this hotel into one of the best in London , I can't wait to stay here again A++++
something a little different....”
It's quite an expensive hotel, especially drinks, but the service, attention to detail, friendliness of the staff is fantastic. I would absolutely stay here again for a short break. All the rooms are different and unique. the roof top bar is lush, just be prepared to pay way over the odds for drinks even in London. The staff however cannot do enough for you. we had chocolate, strawberries and champers on arrival which was just lovely.
Excellent location”
We stayed for 1 night as we had tickets for the London Palladium. We went with a “Crash Pad” which was more than adequate for our needs. The bed was large and very comfortable and there was a big tv and wardrobe. Our room had a lovely bay window which looked out on the street in front of the hotel. There was a little noise outside but it wasn’t at all bad given the central location. The staff were efficient and polite. The room was clean and good value for money. The location of the hotel is brilliant for Regent Street, Piccadilly, theatres, carnaby street and loads of cool bars and restaurants. We had a brilliant time.
Great, Central Hotel”
This is an excellent hotel, hidden just off Regent Street, two minutes' walk from Hamley's toy shop and Carnaby Street (not no like it was in the 60's - sadly!) and three minutes' walk to the London Palladium. Great room with an extremely comfortable bed and well appointed en suite bathroom. Was very lucky to get an upgrade - much appreciated. Good breakfast. My only negative comment would be that I had booked "breakfast included" but was informed on going down that this only applied to the continental meal and that all other breakfasts would be charged at the full rate with no "allowance"permitted. Although I resolved this and had the breakfast I wanted without further charge, I do feel the booking information should have made this clear from the outset.
Disappointing Experience.”
Pros: location and price. Cons: extremely cramped room, a toilet that didn't flush well (3 flushes just to get a bit of tissue paper down ...... and 1/2 of it still remained), a freezing cold shower that refused to even get warm on day one of our stay. The room issues ruined the experience. I travel often and I'm always recommending hotels. I'm not certain whether I'd be able, in good conscience, to recommend the Sanctum.
Cool hotel, great location.”
Great location for all the action in the West End and Mayfair. Hotel has a cool vibe in an understated way. My room was comfortable and uncluttered. Excellent value.
Hi Philip , Thank you for your great review !We hope to see you again next time! Kind regards , Gabriela (Reception team)
