Good but very steep location ”
Staff were nice and friendly, room was large with great views, shower and bath were great with very hot water if needed. Unfortunately the hotel is on an extremely steep slope so it is steps up and down everywhere a lift and gondala up to the higher level. It took me 7 minutes from getting off motorcycle to entering my room just with the sheer amount of stairs to go up and down. The gondala is extremely slow and has faults. I pressed level 4 it took me to level 3 then back to level 1 then to level 4. No one got on or off i was the only passenger. It has a maximum weight of 6 passengers, but on leaving, a staff member was quite happy to have 7 and all the luggage on the way down. Not acceptable. Infinity pool was nice but the usual suspects had their towels on the sunloungers, no sign of them at all as usual. The latter half of my stay was spoiled by the usual noisey neighbours lets just say theres a "lot of them" if you want to stay fit then this is for you. We wont be back sorry

Beautiful resort but needs maintenance ”
Very picturesque resort set atop a hill at Karon. The pool looked better than it did in pictures and so did the views. Pro tip: soak in the pool before 6pm to enjoy happy hour and the sunset! Breakfast spread was ok, a mix of Asian and western. There’s a small shop called James Restaurant just near the entrance of the resort, serves up hearty home cooked Thai food! Def way better than those along Karon Beach Cons: - takes about 15min to get from the bottom of the hill to your room. There’s a funicular that brings you up to the different levels but it takes very long and it often crowded - toilet in the room STINKS. It was easily resolved by closing the door at all times but occasionally you get a whiff of the stench Overall a very pleasant stay that is super worth it based on the price we paid during this peak season. Would recommend!

Big room, good view, nice pool”
The hotel located on the big hill so not convenience for people who not have car . And the parking lot is too small and quite dangerouse in rainy day because of slipery way up to parking. Eventhough the hotel quite old but the rooms were clean and very big, large bed, lot of pillows and big day bed, good for family who travel with children like us. The balcony was big and very very good view, we could see sun set and sun rise from the room. The best we like was the big infinity swimming pool with panorama and sea view. Breakfast was not variety.

Spectacular View but need a renovation.”
Hotel is located on a hill. I got a room no 6210 which is a corner room. The view is amazing. Like other said, there's an escalator lift to the room but it didn't work properly. I took it to 4th floor but it was not open and take me back to 1st floor. When checking out, staff told me that the escalator was out of use, I need to walk down. Pros + Perfect View + Valuable Price + Quiet Place + Infinity edge swimming pool (Didn't use) + Complimentary fruits Cons - Lift too slow and doesn't work properly - No rinsing spray in bahtroom - Hard bed and pillow (Can't sleep and got neckache at first night, Second night use Sofa pillow instead) - Hotel really need a renovation

We were happy that the hotel could accommodate us with the deluxe room due to overbooking with the superior room that we initially booked for. The hotel is situated about 5-10mins walk away from the main town in Karon Beach which is a fair amount of time and it is nice that it's situated on a hill so the view of the Karon Beach if you have rooms with ocean view is good. The only down-fall is walking up the steep slope to the hotel lobby, but I would say it's a good few seconds exercise from all the eating in town. The hotel has a unique elevator as a mode of travel from the lobby to the resorts. It's quite an interesting experience riding on that elevator. We really enjoyed our stay at Karon Phunaka Resort because it nicely situated on the hill away from the crowd and noise. It was relaxing and rejuvenating especially sitting in the jacuzzi at night on the balcony. Would consider staying again if I were to head to Karon Beach in future! (:

Away from busy area, not too far, good standard”
I could see that Karon Beach is a good family beach area with clean beaches. Karon Phunaka Resort and Spa is located, away from the busier beach area, and is high up on the hill, with great day and night light views over Karon Beach. We had a good stay with attentive staff, not many guest there (probably because we were there at the start of the season). We found it to be a good standard (saw Thai airline crew check in). Every half hour there is a 5 minute, Shuttle bus service provided to shopping area, it is good to walk down the hill too. Cheap Tuk Tuk or taxi back if needed. The spa resort has a pleasant pool area. The spa did not seem to be open when we were there (again maybe our timing) however, there is plenty of that in town. Restaurant area was very pleasant taking in the beautiful views. Service and food were fine. We only spent 2 nights here and for us that was enough before our next more adventurous destination. The Thai staff had limited English and the fluent English speaker was a Russian, which was fine, however, it seemed to take away from some of the Thai charm.

Fabulous Infinity Pool overlooking Andaman Sea”
The pool and setting for this resort is the best thing in Karon. Set high above the characterless and tacky Karon town, it was what made our trip. Our room was huge, sometimes had a faint smell from the bathroom (but a good airing will help). We loved the restaurant food - well worth the slightly more you pay. We ate at Nok Noi and Ying in town - Nok Noi was terrible and Ying was fine - but the food at the Phunaka restaurant was fabulous. Just hang out by the pool all day - really no reason to go into town or to the beach, believe it or not. The pool was quite and the views extraordinary. The beach by contrast was noisy, crowded and blah.

I have only one word to describe my stay at Karon Phunaka..."Excellent"...The staff was very friendly and gave us an excellent room with the perfect view!The swimming pool was to to die for!Not to miss rides in the escalator..I would definitely visit them again!

Great place nicely niched in the hills”
The stay at the resort was mostly very nice. The staff is always smiling (except the older staff there after midnight). The others did their best to help book an additional night at the hotel + a1 day tour. He did forgot helping us reactivating our card key but it was one little detail. Although our room was in the 8 th building, all the way up the hill, it was fine as there are two elevators to bring you there without breaking a sweat. Plus, our room had an amazing viewof the sea and the place around Karon. Finally, the infinity pool is definately a plus in the hotel where you can watch the sunset sipping on a cocktail. Now the downsides: 1) our driver from the hotel was not there welcoming us at the airport. Had to phone the hotel and when we finally found him, he told us he was waiting in his car.. 2) i saw him falling asleep! (We came on an am flight) Nothing happened, but still. . 3) hotel dîner set is nice and it was just enough for me (I'm 5"1). Not sure it would be enough for everyone 4) no brushes in the room or at the reception. If you have long hair and you've spent your day sweating, putting sunscreen, bathing in sea water, you know it's a nightmare! 5) hotel is 10-15 min walk from Karon Beach, but it offers a free ride from hotel at designated time. Not sure they have rides back, if not, taxi is 200 baht which is quite pricey as the five is not even 5 min. No tuk tuks in sight in Phuket and they don't even bargain!

Best stayed resort in Karon”
We wer really enjoyed staying for 1 night in Karon Phunaka Resort and Spa. It is a romantic hotel but too far away from karon beach. Eventhough the hotel provides us shuttle to Karon beach but it is only one way not a return trip, so we need 15 minutes walking to go back to the hotel. It's quite surrounding and every point of our room, we have sea views to die for. Overall, we really have a great experince staying here. The stafs are really friendly and they can speak english very well.
