Great guesthouse, close to the beach”
Apparently Karon Sunshine Guesthouse has been recently merged with the "Lada" hotel next door in which I stayed, so my rating will be mainly for Lada Hotel which was exceptionally good for the price I paid. The room had all the facilities including good aircon, flat screen TV, safety box, nice wardrobe and modern furniture, comfortable bed with new fresh linen and modern bathroom, nice decor. Very clean. No insects at all. Very quiet in spite of lots of bars and restaurants in the same road some with live music at night. The staff is very friendly, all speak good English, helped me to book some tours and recommended a good agency just across the street who arranged my transfer from Karon to Phuket Main Port and Phi Phi Island for half its usual price. Karon beach is beautiful, wide and long, with clean white sand and clear warm torqoise sea, it was 3 min. walk from the Guesthouse. Lots of water sports facilities and lots of tour agencies offering boat and mountain trips, beautiful bay with amazing sunsets. Quite lively at night. I wished I could stay longer. Would recommend Karon Sunshine GH and Lada Hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Karon Beach area. Great value for money.

Cheap, comfy and attentive staff”
For the price (around 600THB) we thought it ticked the boxes. Tough to find good food around and we were happy to find an authentic thai restaurant not too far away. Hard to find breakfast, but we saved money and ate toasties from the 7Eleven :) The staff at Karon Sunshine made our stay very enjoyable - I doubt I would return to Phuket, but I can certainly recommend staying here - they really were friendly, happy to help and easy to approach - they actually cared. Another bonus was the 'happy hour' buy two beers get one free. My bed was very hard and I didn't sleep well, however my partner had no issues. Our air-con unit dripped constantly - but we just put a towel underneath it.

Ideal location”
Everything you want is right outside your door. The beach is very close and if you want to go to bars, you can still crawl home in less than 2 minutes. They care very much about cleanliness. I like to go out late and sleep late so I never got my room cleaned. They almost begged me to be allowed to clean my room on the third day. This area in Karon is quite small. I stayed here for 5 days which was great but I am also glad I moved on. I plan on coming back some day though

Great staff, cheap guesthouse”
This was my second stay in this guesthouse, and it has changed a bit since last time. They have redone the reception/bar area and no longer have a restaurant. They also merged with the neighbor guesthouse, and I stayed in that building. For 500 baht per night in low season you have incredible value for money and some of the best staff. Only problem this time was the air condition which was a bit noisy. Everything else was great.

Solid Value in Karon Beach ( Top 3 for value)”
Great location with the best BBQ fish stand at night and cheap lunch shop on the same street. 150m from the beach. I had the top floor room with Balcony which was nice to have air and even see a bit of the water from my own balcony. Very much only Old Swedish people at the bar downstairs and a bit of noise from the late night bars behind. Good Wifi and Bed. Okay shower. Overall a solid room for the price.

I spent about four days in Karon early February. I had stayed before at the excellent Paradise Inn next door, which I warmly recommend too, but decided to give it a try on account of its excellent reviews and I was not disappointed: the staff were very nice, I was given a very large, comfortable room on the top floor (the one with a balcony) and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Very good value for money.I would only recommend the rooms at the back if you're not comfortable with the street lively activity and the music at night.

Right in the thick of it!”
This is a guesthouse and is right in one of the busiest streets of guesthouses, bars and restaurants so if in high season and a room at the front it will be noisy. However if on holiday you should be out in the action anyway- right? Clean, all you need in the room,fridge, 2 free waters a day, coffee ( no tea) , tv, iron, hairdryer. Nice bar/ restaurant downstairs, book swap. 5 minute walk to beach. Top floor rooms are up 3 steep flights if stairs .

Great comfort”
my room was at the 5th floor. it was huge for one person but I loved it. It was VERY clean. The staff were very friendly, always smiling.It is next to a lot of restaurants and bars but the sound doesn't really disturb. It is also very convenient to everything. Out of four budget hotels I stayed-in in Thailand, this is the best by far.

Very good staff, location and value for money”
Stayed here for 2 days and then extended our stay 4 more days. Staff is extremely helpful and rooms are nice. Eventhough we had some issues about overbooking all our problems were solved nicely. Bit noicy at nights since place is located allmost next to the main street. In total if you are looking cheaper accommodation with really good service then this is a place to be.

We loved it, staff always smiled, room was on top floor with balcony over the street. Was great. We paid about $53 a nigh peak season for the biggest room. Would stay there again. Always immaculate

Very pleasant atmosphere ”
The people who run this place give it a really pleasant atmosphere, lovely place to stay for the price. Only thing I didn't like was the aircon unit being directly over the bedhead.

Only stairs, no lift. No pool. Room ok for a budget room, but old. On the main road but restaurants, 7/11,Subway, food carts (pancake, meat sticks, shakes) near. Beach near. Budget hotel, so ok if you just need a room.
