The Shore at Katathani - Adults only (SHA Plus+)
Kata,Kata - View on map
"If you want a private and romantic time with your other half, this boutique villa property on Kata-noi could be your ultimate choice, Everything was perfect for our 3 nights' stay. The wonderful service started from the check-in process, where you are presented with a delicious honey welcome drink and a very fragrant flower hand garland for your wrist. Buggies take you directly to your villa, so the steep slopes within the hotel are not an issue. Once inside the villa, the view of the blue Andaman sea literally takes your breath away. Far from the maddening crowds at Patong and Kata beach, this villa property is located at Kata-noi, a very secluded and private stretch of beach next to Kata. While the beach is not the hotel's private property, during our stay, we can safely confirm that it is still quite private and does not attract the crazy hordes of tourists unlike Patong and Kata. The Shore is also adults-only (it does not accept guests under 12 years old), so you will not get screaming kids disrupting your romantic holiday. Breakfast each day was a great luxury with the priceless sea view. And oh, if you prefer, they would gladly set up breakfast on the terrace of your villa, at no additional charge. Overall, highly recommended,"

Katathani Phuket Beach Resort (SHA Plus+)
Kata,Kata - View on map
"Best ocean front resort (along with it's sister The Shore Katathani -it's sister resort with private infinity pool villas). Secluded semi-private Kata Noi beach across from our room was always beautiful azure turquoise blue with good snorkeling at the northern and southern end. I love the 6 restaurants (all good especially Fisherman's Wharf and themed nightly buffets at Chom Talay) and 6 swimiming pools (try them all!) and 2 complimentary breakfast buffet restaurants with 20 to 30 delicious hot entrees and unlimited lattes cappucinos and expressos. Chom Talay is the larger one at the northern end of the resort while my favorite is the al fresco breakfast buffet SeaCret the breakfast buffet next to the ocean with patio. We were there during covid-19 so breakfast was served at the oceanfront Fisherman's Wharf (breakfast was still unlimited -- but the waitress served you your food you ordered -- covid-19 regulations require buffets to have a staff member at each buffet aisle to serve you the food you pick out or an employee to bring it all to your table so that customers never have to touch serving utensils at the buffet aisle. Throughout the resort is Great amazing service where you are treated like royalty with the courteous staff always helpful and smiling. The reception staff like Pla and Kazakhstani girl and servers especially are very nice and helpful -we were given complimentary upgrades to our room which was absolutely gorgeous oceanfront suite a few steps away from the beach with jacquzzi bathtub and shower. Highly recommend Katathani as the best 5-star resort in Phuket that's feels like it has a secluded semi-private beach Kata Noi yet is still close enough to civilization with the adjacent street next to Katathani with over 12 shops and restaurants if you wish to walk to nearby lively busy Kata Beach, it's only a 15-20 minute walk away or 2-minute taxi to the busy Kata Beach downtown main street area with hundreds of shops, bars, & "

"I would say that the hotel staff service is excellent. I actually planned my marriage proposal at SIS Kata. The hotel service team offers great assistance in arranging the room decoration and roses. They were helpful and responsive to my emails and offered ideas in finalizing the room decorations. For the location of SIS Kata, it is located near to Kata Beach. The walk to the beach took less than 5 min. It has great sea views from its signature infinity swimming pool. For the "

The Sea Galleri by Katathani (SHA Plus+)

"This is the place to be in Phuket - Kata beach. We had a wonderful time here. Hotel provides shuttle service to the beach which is about 3 minutes away. The view is fantastic- the best you can get! The breakfast was great. The rooms were stunning and trendy! Service was great as well. There are lots of shops and restaurants near by. Yes there is a sharp hill to get to the hotel if you want to walk but it’s not that bad. Note: taxi service is about 200bhat if you choose to go to the beach area or if you’re smart, take the hotel shuttle. It’s about 1000bhat to the airport. That’s the price and trust me the drive is about an hour so it’s worth it. Big Buddha is visible from the hotel which is amazing. Beautiful rooftop patio to enjoy the view of Kata beach. I would highly recommend this hotel and would 100% stay there. Kata beach is a bit quieter compare to Patong which is nice so you can really get away from busy lifestyle. "

Beyond Resort Kata (SHA Plus+)

"We stayed at Kata Beach Resort for 3 nights after spending 4 nights at Metadee Resort. We loved Metadee Beach Resort for it's winding pool and rooms but there's no denying Kata Beach Resort. It's location is second to none in one of the best spots on Kata Beach. The rooms are getting a bit outdated but there's still beautiful and have new tvs. The pool area and view of the beach is great. The only problem is, as many other people have noted, that too many guests try to reserve deck chairs in the morning leaving none for other guests. We didn't found this a bit of a problem but were always able to find two chairs together - maybe this is because we were there in offpeak season. We didn't pay for the breakfast and preferred to get breakfast at the end of the beach instead at one of the restaurants next to Ska Bar. You could get breakfast for two for around 300 baht which was so cheap. And it was great too! The only other issue was paying 150 baht for one hours internet. My partner works in IT and had to log in regularly for work so this was very costly when other resorts provide internet for free. Apart from that, I would still stay at Kata Beach Resort again and would recommend it to others."

"If you want a beautiful boutique hotel in Kata Beach then this is it! The setting is lovely & the view amazing, unfortunately it rained while we were there so we never got to enjoy a few sundowners. A funny story, my wife & I went for a reasonably priced massage at the hotel. It all started as normal but about 15 mins into the massage my wife coughed a few times as she had been battling with flu & the massage had loosened her chest. Both face down on the massage beds when the one masseuses asked me where are you from? I replied proudly from South Africa. The massage carried on & 20 mins later we turned over to see both masseuses with face masks on...very funny Dinner at the restaurant was great, probably the best we had in our 2 week trip to Thailand. The breakfast was just as good. The staff are very friendly and professional and only to willing to help. The only negative for me was I don't like soft beds, it was just to soft for me. Very comfortable for my wife though! "

Andaman Cannacia Resort & Spa (SHA Plus+)
Kata,Kata - View on map
"This review is a little hard to write because we were very kindly upgraded midway through our stay to part of the sister resort (Peach Blossom) where we were given a spectacular standalone villa with private pool. Cannacia - As mentioned, the airport transfer I had arranged via email with the resort didnt show up. Turned out not to be a big drama, but we did pay more by having to find a driver at the airport. Welcome was very nice. Staff friendly and attentive and did their best to accomodate us... even though the room wasnt ready and they didnt really seem to be expecting us. Anyway, room was nice (think it was a Garden Spa room, with a nice little private outdoor area including a spa tub). Brilliant big bed. Air con was working fine. Had a second bed put in for our 2 year old and a cot for our 1 year old. Room configuration worked fine for us, but like all hotels/new places there were lots of new corners and stairs etc for our kids to bump themselves on. 2 internal stairs werent great our 1 year old who had just started walking, but thats not the hotels fault. Next morning off to brekky. Standard hotel breakfast (cereals, breads, pastries, hot asian selections, some days pancakes etc. Egg station was great (much better egg cook at the Cannacia than the peach). For the next 4 days we followed the same daily routine. Breakfast. Back to our room. Apply sunscreen then jump the shuttle down to the beach. The Cannacia resort is up a hill at the southern end of the beach. It is walkable. We walked down the hill to the beach but walking up wouldnt have been any fun (nobody walks up). Kata beach is spectacular and in my opinion much much nicer than Patong or Karon. Each day rather than walk we were dropped at Cartoon beach shack by the shuttle, where we got 2 sunbeds under umbrella for 200Baht/day. Cartoon had cold cold beers, juices, cocktails and food. Everything we could want. We never ate dinner or lunch at Cannacia, just because we were always out and abou"

Metadee Resort and Villas (SHA Plus+)

"We have stayed at other hotels in Kata, and at first was a little disapointed by the location because there was no view of the beach. That quickly changed when we saw the hotel and our villa. It turned out our stay gave us the best of everything, a very romantic private room, yet close enough to enjoy some wonderful restaurants in town and a close walk to the beach. We forgot all about wanting a view of the beach. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. We can't wait to return! We wouldn't stay anywhere else."

More about Kata

For most of Kata beach, there are shaded areas under the palm trees that make ideal spots for relaxing in hammocks and enjoying beachside Thai massage. Sun loungers are available along the whole beach, and the area has a wide range of accommodation options, many of them on the beach itself.

Year-round beach activities include volleyball, kayaking, parasailing, windsurfing, waterskiing and wakeboarding and banana boating. From November to April, the warm sea is flat, crystal clear and turquoise in color. However, from May to October, swimming conditions become rougher and surfers flock to the southern end of the beach, where boards can also be rented. The waves are a suitable size for beginners, and surfing tuition is also available.

Towards the end of the year, over a hundred yachts arrive from all over the region to compete in Asia's premier sailing event, the King's Cup Regatta. The colorful Kata Temple and Three-Beach Hill, which overlooks the area, are both popular attractions, while the nearby Dino Park mini-golf park next to Marina Phuket Resort is a kids’ favorite.

An abundance of restaurants line the southern part of the beach serving seafood, Thai and European dishes at reasonable prices, and hawker stalls can also be found at both ends of the beach road. The nightlife is less hectic than Patong, and more compact than nearby Karon, making Kata an ideal compromise between the two. Most guests arrive from Phuket International Airport via taxi cab.
