This guest house is located at a little distance away from the noisy city, which makes it perfect place to relax and spend some peaceful time. An added advantage is its proximity to the Hakgala Botanical Garden, which is one of the must visit places in Nuwara Eliya. The garden is at a walk-able distance from this place. Local buses keep passing by the place which makes it very eay to reach the city within 10 min. The staff is great and the location is picturesque. I would definitely recommend this place to all travelers.

We did enjoy our stay at the Scenic View Lodge. We arrived in the evening after an amazing hiking on Horton Plains. We were greeted by the owner who offered to cook dinner for us but we had already eaten. We were leaving early in the and requested the breakfast (included in the price) to be served at 7:30 am. Next day, breakfast was very healthy and delicious, and was served at requested time. The room was comfortable but did not have TV because something happened that day and the owner had to remove it. There was a public TV room with satellite channels and good programming though but we were tired and ready to sleep. The other issue we had was with the hot water in the washroom which was not coming out in the sink. The owner came and explained that they had installed a new system recently and in the room we received, we had to open the shower hot water and keep it running; we were able to have a very refreshing hot shower and hot water in the sink. We recommend this lodge to anyone who is looking for a good value for money stay.

We got a warm welcome from the chef and the service boy. The friendly environment makes you stay with your friend! The view is about the tea garden which is enjoyable. We had a dinner at there which can be tailor-made, delicious and unique. There is a spacious common room with snooker and hifi that we can spend some time on it. The breakfast is flexible that we need to leave at 5am for Horton Plains, they provide the take-away breakfast, very nice. We would recommend this hotel to you as we really enjoy much the stay!

The view from the yard was magnificent The furniture was new and elegant The Villa is new and clean. Good for a big group The dinner table had a great view The outside yard was really nice The view from the rooms upstairs was awesome But there was no hose in the bathroom And the pillows where uncomfrtable The water heaters run out quickly and the water pressure was weak The Villa is a little dark at night, not enough lights No emergency lights, we had to spend 20 hours without electricity We got charged for using the kitchen even though it was supposed to be included with the Reservation There was no sweet water The way to the Villa was really bad The kitchen was a little old Other than that We had a great stay, but it just needs a few things to be perfect

Positive points - things we admire: We we there for 2 ningts and reserved the whole bungalow. This was our first stay in this bungalow. The bungalow is nice and rooms are clean & comfortable. The view from the bungalow is beautiful. Staff was friendly and the food was good. Minus points - things to be changed/improved: 1. There is no name board for the bungalow and drivers found it difficult to locate it. 2. The road to the bungalow is damaged. 3. They charged LKR 1000 for the BBQ machine which was not fair at all and it was communicated to us at the last minute . We annually go to Nuwara Eliya and have been in different hotels and bungalows and haven't paid such amount for BBQ machine only. 4. Their check out time is 10am not 11am and it was told to us on the last day. Usually the standard check out time is 11am in everywhere and the management seriously needs to look into this as well. Therefore check everything before you go there.... Except these everything is good.
