Beautiful Beach Resort is great for pools & beach”
Kauai Beach Resort has an awesome view of the beach and four spectacular pools and two jacuzzis with waterfalls flowing into most of them. The beach is only for walking and watching the surf. The waves are too treacherous with sharp coral right up to the beach to swim in. Signs warn that the current can and will suck you out and drown you. Despite this the views are breathtaking and worth the stay with really awesome pools. Only two of the bays in north Kauai and one in the south are safe to swim in. Most of Kauai has treacherous surf that should only be swam in by experts that know what they are dealing with. Still a great hotel and very fun with a hiking trail that parallels the beach to enjoy long peaceful walks with views of the surf and mountains to the left of the hotel about a mile off.
Relaxing yet affordable hotel near Lihue.”
Only a five-minute drive from Lihue Airport. No other hotels nor shops in the area so feels secluded, but as long as you have your own means of transportation, Lihue is five minutes and Wailua is 10 minutes by car. You can walk to and on the beach, but with rocks, high waves, and jellyfish, it's unswimmable. Clean rooms, good restaurant, nice pool, and helpful staff. The only problem was the Wi-Fi never worked at least in our room.
An absolutely gorgeous property nestled along the coast. Close to Lihue City and Kapa'a. Great dining options onsite. Excellent service level exhibited by the staff. Very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The bed was just as comfortable as any we've ever had. Lovely Hawaiian Tropic bath products.
Located in Lihue excellent location. Rooms are clean and well serviced. Tour desk is well informed and happy to help. Breakfast was not that great but there is a star bucks coffee bar within the resort to make up for it. Easy free parking facilities. Airport transfer to and from available.
Nice grounds, room okay, high price”
The hotel was nice. The pool area was lovely and the waterfall features added something to it. It wasn’t too busy, even though it was spring break (which was nice). The staff were cheerful and helpful. Little extras like valet parking was nice, but you do have to pay an “amenity fee” with your check in. The room had a musty smell. They tidied it daily, but it could use some moisture control. Kauai is expensive in general, but when paying that much per night, plus amenity fees, plus food and drinks there, the costs add up quickly!
Absolutely amazing resort. I stayed there by myself (22 yo girl) and I felt so safe. Pools and spas were great. Poolside service was fantastic and there were so many roosters which I loved. My room was perfect. I hired a car from reception and explored the island easily. Definitely staying here again.
Amazing pool and facilities - great for families ”
Cons : bit far from shops, need a car to get around. Friend was charged $1 for a plastic spoon. Pros: amazing pool and direct access to beach. Clean rooms and friendly staff
Everything is all good except that for its standard, it should have free WIFI across the whole resort.
Don't waste your money here, go elsewhere ”
For the price we paid (including the silly amenity fee which every Hawaiian hotel seems to throw at you last minute) , we expected a lot better than what we paid for The hotel itself was nice & all but the distaste left in our mouths (and several other couples) from having a waitress mess up all of our food+drink orders, therefore making us wait just under an hour & a half for 2 , a poke bowl, beef burger & chicken panini. But it gets worse, instead of offering to give a discount or even give the drinks for free we then had to pay for them! I was disgusted at this act (and I'm sure everyone else was too with their own personal problems with this lady) Housekeeping always seemed to be late in the day, so when we came back around noon, our rooms still had not been cleaned and we were finding ourselves having to hassle reception to have them done so which we felt quite bad about The beachside & everything along the resort was nice although we were in Hawaii's winter season and getting past the 10m of reef before hitting the water was a bit tricky/dangerous. I'm sure it'd be nice in calmer tides There entertainment throughout the week was also a plus. Hula shows, lei making & bingo as well. All good fun & times Overall I rate our stay here a 2/5
Nice, but can improve”
We choose this hotel because we had stayed in the past. The hotel has made some improvements since we were last there two years ago such as their to-go/quick bites breakfast menu in Shutters, removal of tacky pool cards and added covering to self/valet parking lot. The hula show and maitais poolside was really nice too. The internet connection in the room is terrible and is shameful that there is a charge for it. The hotel offers complementary internet in the public spaces, however it should be complementary the in room as well... that's if your are one of the lucky ones to get connection. The breakfast buffet in Naupaka needs some work. On the day that we dined, there was only one meat selection and one chef at the omelet station. There should be at least two meat selections and during peak times two chefs at the omelet station; the line was so long that you could finish a plate before you could put your order in. Also, the fire alarm went off in the early morning hours however there was no follow up/advisory/apology letter as to what happened. I called down to the Front Desk to inquire if we needed to evacuate, and while the receptionist was calm and professional I could hear the phone lines ringing like crazy in the background. Perhaps other concerned guests were calling to check on the situation at the same time? With the high occupancy for the holidays, operations staffing needs to be increased to support associates. The hotel should also consider a return guest recognition program.
Pleasant stay at Kauai Beach Resort”
Clean comfortable room, quiet rooms, upgraded to poolside which was nice. Staff nice. Pool nice, although rules of adult only hot tub and outsiders in the pool area was not enforced. There seemed to be quite a few outsiders crashing the pool area which made the hot tubs more crowded.
Basic Accommodation ”
Good location Good ambiance Great, friendly staff Clean room, clean bed, clean sheets, clean bathroom. Please note that this is a very family oriented hotel, also aimed towards an older crowd. Not many younger (mid 20's-late 30's), single people at this hotel. Hotel bar is very hit or miss. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's dead.
Relaxed and comfortable stay at reasonable cost”
I stayed for 2 nights to catch up with my old friend. We had no plan but just relax, and this hotel was just perfect for it; good quality for money.
Vacation and leisure time ”
I had a great time despite the weather and thunderstorms, regardless of the conditions it was a very relaxing vacations and a lot of it was due to the staff’s friendliness, diligence, and attentiveness.
Pleasant stay ”
a few areas of improvement may have been water in the rooms and around the pool area. The free shuttle to and from the the airport was plus Car rentals from the hotel were cheap ans reasonably new vehicles that suited our purpose
It's fine not great customer service is bad ,specially in receptionist, host in breakfast and the server take too long to assist us and they not even smiling at all no aloha spirit. The receptionist was not smiling upon check in then tried to say they upgraded me to logoon view when I already paid for pool view. Plus the room by the and the logoon smelled bad. The pool is great and valet guys was very friendly and helpful. The night manager did change our room and was friendly. I have been working at a resort on Oahu for 20 years now and know a little about customer service.
Great, relaxing and comfortable ”
Very comfortable and relaxed. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and a beautiful setting. Close to airport and main town. Good value
A reasonably priced (for Hawaii) beach resort.”
It was a nice time and the rooms were comfortable, although the pull out couch was not very comfortable for older child.
Staff could use with some retraining.”
The pool grounds are lovely but some of the staff working there are miserable and will treat you like dirt unless your handing over money or a tip for something, be prepared to just be another tourist they have no time for unless there's something in it for them. We stayed with a 1 year old and coming from Aus and travelling around alot its hard to always have fresh cold milk on hand. One night the lady in the starbucks was happy to sell us a cup for $.80 which was great and she was lovely, the second time we ran out a different lady would only hand some over if I purchased a coffee off her.. stick it lady. They sometimes apparently sold milk however the 3 nights we stayed they had none available for purchase, we purchased some at stores outside of the hotel but with only a tiny bar fridge its hard to keep anything other than small amounts. Ive travelled to Hawaii several times and staying at this hotel is the first time ive had any sour experiences staying anywhere on the islands.
Decent values for the cost”
In general, staff was friendly and the hotel was close to the airport, but it does not have good selection of restaurants inside the property or close to that area.
