This inn is located in a river valley in a naturally blessed area considered holy ground since ages past as the home of the gods. It features spacious, classical Japanese-style guest rooms, and the open-air bath located on the river bed is Kawayu Onsen's only truly outdoor bath. In the summer, guests can enjoy swimming and river-related activities and will find their minds and bodies refreshed by the soft murmuring of the river through the ravine. For those wishing to visit the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route, the inn offers free shuttle service to Hasshinmonoji, Fushiogamioji, and Hongucho.

Incredible Ryokan”

Kawayu Midoriya is a wonderful ryokan in the Kawayu Onsen area and it is a good base for you to travel to different attractions in the region. The staff were wonderful from check-in to check-out. Their outdoor onsen pools are spectacular as well (onsen yukata provided since it's a mixed gender one) The food is very good as well with variety of stuff you can pick from the buffet line on top of your beef sukiyaki and appetizers (dinner). The breakfast buffet is amazing as well.
