Service was good though and after dinner we adjourned to the lobby bar where there was a Japanese singer entertaining the guests with his guitar.

Worth the Trip and a great stay”
This place was a great relaxing break in our trip moving from city to city. The onsen (spa) was really the main event. It's on the roof with a view of Mt. Fuji if it's clear. Very peaceful and relaxing and something that you should do while you're in Japan. We loved the onsen experience so much, we did one in Tokyo which really made Kukuna seem like a treat. Obviously very different things, but the point is Kukuna has a great relaxing vibe. The view is also wonderful, even with clouds covering Fuji. When the clouds disperse, they announce it on the speakers in the comments areas. It seemed at first odd to us, but then kind of nice since we didn't have to watch for a view ourselves. No complaints at all about the hotel itself. English was a bit tough at first, but they had a Belgian on staff that kind of looked after us the whole time. We kind of liked that it seemed to be less touristy--we were the only Westerners we saw. Even if we couldn't speak much English, you don't need it much since everything is fairly easy to navigate and taken care of for you. The food was delicious and included in the rate. There were lots of options as well (Western and Japanese). I'm sure there are other great options in the area, but Kukuna was perfect for what we wanted. I would go back and recommend it as well!
good view with Mt Fuji and Kawaguchiko lake”
This is our second time with Kaze no Terrace Kukuna, a lot of changes from last time that we remember... This time, the hotel is more modern and more like western food... The food is okay. Very good view from Onsen inside hotel.
TERRRACE SUITE is BREATHTAKING ”
While the Terrace Suite with Private Onsen and view of Mt Fuji is little pricey, this room is perfect for a one day trip, where you get to enjoy onsen at your leisure for the entire day and night. We watched uninterrupted view of Mt Fuji at sunset and sunrise while bathing as late/early as we desire. The room is luxuriously well designed. The combination of these living/nature/entertainment comforts are certainly reflected in the price. The price I paid was very competitive for other hotel stays that offered such living/nature/entertainment. The accommodations (wardrobe for all parts of hotel, meals, shuttle service to leave) are excellent. Perfect for a one day trip, no need to bring clothes/toiletries to live comfortably.
Suite with terrace”
I had the most luxuries stay in Japan. Room is spacious. Mighty Mt Fuji view is amazing from our room. Private onsen in room with the great mountain view, worth the price! The service when we stayed here was superb and excellent. Starting the second we reached, there's already a few crews were waiting at outside to welcome us in the cold winter @ 5'C. Handled over the luggages and handbags to them and brought us to the lobby lounge. Welcome drinks and free flow snacks are served to us while waiting for the check in procedure. Need not to move a single step, their service made us felt so classy! Receptionist was very polite, brought us to our room and explained and gave us a tour of our room. Our room is at the floor of Kukuna club, so we got our treats of free flows and unlimited snacks, drinks and wine until 8pm. Need not afraid of hunger! We had our Japanese style dinner, food and menu was satisfied with the winter fresh ingredients and sashimi and they served my favourite sukiyaki. Breakfast spread is good, most important is the restaurant just in front the Mt Fuji view! There's free shuttle bus to Kawaguchiko station after checking out. Thanks for your excellent service, definitely will come back again.
Great onsen experience with Mt Fuji view”
We booked outdoor onsen terrance suite with Mt Fuji view. It was a great onsen experience and managed to see the beautiful Mt Fuji on a sunny day. Little choices on Dinner buffet as they prepared 4-course meals (japaness fusion) for the guests while a lot more varieties for breakfast. It would be great if Kukuna provides real japaness kaiseki set instead of fusion food. Friendly staffs
Relaxing hotel ”
We enjoyed our stay very much on the 24-27 March 14 in Kukuna. The breakfast had a good spread and dinner was delicious. We took a bus day tour around the lake kawaguchiko. The bus ride if I remembered correctly before the last bus stop end, you can see the whole beautiful of Fujisan, wow, that is wonderful, bring a camera n take a photo. In our room through our sliding glass n even in the bath we can see Fujisan! There are 2 things that disappointing 1, there is no English TV channel n 2, our room balcony is really dirty, should clean up/wash before we reach our room 513. Other than that we had a great n relax time. Thank you
I WAS IN THE OTHER HOTEL AT THE NIGHT BEFORE THIS HOTEL WITH THE SAME MONEY PAID, SO I KNEW THE DIFFERENCE. KUKUNA IS EXCELLENT...THE VIEW, THE LOCATION, THE ONSEN, THE FOOD, THE SERVICE AND THE STAFF. DON'T MISS!!!
Great room facilities, great food with great view! Mt Fuji just right infront of our room! Staff are well trained and polite. Onsen view is superb! We had wonderful stay with Kukuna. Highly recommended!
Kukuna is the perfect hotel for holiday with quiet and beautiful environment, delicious food and user-friendly facilities. Definitely will come here again
You will not regret by choosing this hotel!”
We stayed in the Suite with terrace & onsen-in-room for two nights. Everything is more than I have expected! Very clean and tidy room, wonderful service, comfortable onsen, beautiful view.... It's an excellent place for a relaxing holiday. Being in the floor of Club Kunana, there were free wines, juices, coffees and teas, biscuits and sweets.... your tummy would never get emptied! Remember to email the hotel for dinner type: Japanese or Western-style. Both are nice, but personally I prefer Japanese style dinner: fresh sashimi and yummy Sukiyaki!!
Just the two of us hiding away from everything for 5D4N...no emails no nothing, no specific agenda, no rushing to places, all the time to ourselves alone and we had a wonderful, wonderful time!!! 1) Hotel location: unbeatable because all the rooms face both the Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji in the same direction, all have a balcony to sit and relax while watching over this view! 2) Although our room did not have an onsen in the balcony, we paid 3,000 yen for a private one on 5th floor (there was also a public one FOC on 9th floor) which was one of the highlights! 3) Staff was so helpful, very polite very warm and they even parked our car for us! 4) We did runs around the Lake everyday! 5) Although food was not that bad but it was below our expectation! I guess we were so looking forward to some nice sushi and sashimi. So if you are a fan, you will not find it here at this hotel. We did then go to a small traditional place called Sushi Yoshi for lunch and it was so unreal!
Very Very GOOD!!”
The staff are wonderful and nice. We really enjoy staying in the KUKUNA. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you!
Excellent, nice hotel. nice environment. ”
New and modern renovation, room with balcony which is good to watch the lake and Fuji Mt. Nice hotel services. Excellent food in the hotel. I can take photo in balcony which fit to all of my need. All are good. Stay 1 night which is too short but this hotel satisfies all of my need in Fuji specially impressed of the high floor outdoor hot spring bath, experience is excellent and impressive. Will take this hotel if I come to Fuji again in future.
GET THE ROOM WITH PRIVATE BATH”
This place was awesome. The staff was top notch, and the facilities are pretty fantastic too. The food was good, not great, but it didn't matter much. We were lucky enough to be there on a day when it was clear skies and the view was impressive. I didn't see the other rooms, but we stayed in 705, and had a private bath on our terrace. I would highly, highly recommend this type of room. It is worth the extra money.
You won't find a better hotel in the area. Sure there're even better hotels with better views and better facilities but add price to the consideration and this is the best. Upon reception you get beautiful blueberry juice and pineapple chocolate cookies while you wait, the rooms are really new and spanking clean, the amenities are totally on point, the hot spring on the top floor has a commanding view of Mt Fuji, if you're lucky enough to get a balcony view the views are fantastic. Breakfast was perfect too. The staff are ultra nice. If there's a small fault, maybe dinner was just ok. Free shuttle bus to the station
Great hotel, meals are not very impressive though”
I didn't get to see the beautiful Fujisan because of the typhoon but it is not their fault. In fact, this hotel is great, probably the best onsen view and design that I've ever been in Japan. Room is extremely large and relaxing. A lot of entertainments. great location (right in front of bus stop). The only two things that I have to say: First, their breakfast and dinner are below the average of hotels of this caliber. not really tasty and not many choices. I barely fed myself with some rice. They do not serve Kaiseki ryori so if you are after this, do not come. Second, the price is at higher end in this area. watch out on the price increase!
The location is great. Every room has the lake, and Mt. Fuji view if the weather is clear. Staff is very friendly. Those rooms with a private hot bath pool on lanai are very special and enjoyable. As soon as we checked in, they surprised my husband with a birthday gift. The staff said they learned my husband’s birthday from his passport. We also received a double scoop ice cream for our wedding anniversary. Meals were not too impressive though, comparing the price. The hotel deco are not impressive either. There were some artistic deco but a lot of deco were plastic and cheap looking. There were not a lot to do other than looking at the lake. Mt. Fuji unfortunately were not always there due to mostly cloudy weather there.
Value for money”
A lovely stay in Kukuna. Everything was perfect :)
The view of Mt. Fuji is spectacular on the terrace. Staff are very friendly and meals are satisfactory. Will definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Worth the price, great location and service”
Great hotel with nice view on Fujisan. Lucky with the weather the view was breathtaking. Very nice hot tubs on terrace well equiped that also gives great view on the mount. Food was good. I really enjoyed my 1 night stay.
