Great value for money accommodation”

Close to Shinjuku station, many good restaurants nearby, clean and reasonably sized rooms for the price, friendly staff even though I don't speak Japanese. However, as a non-smoker, I had to book a smoking room and the smell was too strong. Other than having to air out the room for two days, it was a great stay and I would consider staying again.

Small, but quiet and adequate”

I stayed at Keio Presso Inn for the first time. Depending on your walking pace, it is located within roughly a 10 minute walk of the South Gate of Shinjuku Station. (Turn right as you head out the South Gate, and look for the blue Keio Presso Inn sign written in Japanese.) The accommodation was clean and surprisingly quiet given its location in central Tokyo. Like many Japanese hotels, this one seems to have smaller rooms compared to those in Western hotels. This is considered a "business hotel," so I imagine that it is geared towards business travellers. The bed is quite firm by Western standards, though this seems to be more common in Japanese hotels (at least, from my limited experience.) If you are a taller person, I would definitely recommend either the semi-double or double bed. Again, "standard" for Japan seems to be a twin bed rather than the queen bed Westerners may be accustomed to. Depending on where your room is situated, don't expect much of a view, though this should not be much an issue if you expect to spend the majority of your time out and about. My room did not have curtains but did have cork boards that slid open so you could see outside. Windows do open to the outside, though the room is equipped with air conditioning (and heat during winter). Standard bathroom amenities are provided. The room does have a small desk and chair, and there is free Wi-Fi. The desk has a couple of electrical outlets. It seems you would need to pay to watch any TV, but again, if you are spending most of the time outside of your hotel room, this shouldn't be an issue. Rooms are not cleaned every day, but if you leave your towels and garbage outside your door on days your room is not scheduled for cleaning, they will pick those things up. Fresh towels and garbage bags are provided daily. The included breakfast was relatively simple: cabbage salad, some type of bread/bun, some pieces of meat, macaroni or potato salad, tamago (egg), various Japanese pick

Right in front of the bus stop!! Free breakfast was amazing ♪”

After checking out of the hotel, there was a bus stop right in front of me. I arrived at Shinjuku Station West Exit in just two stops, even on rainy days, without having to take out an umbrella. I think it's a very good location. In addition, I was able to start my comfortable journey by enjoying a free breakfast with not only bread but also rice and curry, as well as free drinks.

Solid Business Hotel in Shinjuku”

I stayed here on business and was very happy with the hotel, staff and amenities. The location is relatively close to Shinjuku station. It is approximately a 7-10 minute walk away and you can take a bus for 100 yen if you prefer. There is also a 24 hour Lawson on the ground floor that is very convenient. You can even take the elevator down from within the hotel; there is no need to go outside. This isn't a luxury hotel, but it was kept clean and the staff was very friendly.
