Nice experience of a traditional Japanese room ”
this hotel offers a good balance of affordability, cleanliness and experience of traditional japanese living in shinjuku - a prime district in tokyo city centre. it's near to a major transportation node/interchange (jr shinjuku station) and surrounded by plenty of local eating places and cafes. within walking distance is also takashimaya that houses tokyu hands, several fantastic restaurants (both japanese and international foodfare) and japanese footcourt. great place to stay, if you are not concerned with the midnight curfew. supply of toiletries are basic, or you can 'upgrade' to a travelsize shiseido's tsubaki shower cream, shampoo and conditioner at 300yen. unlike other hotels/ryokans which have shared baths, keiunso rooms' each has a private bath (tiny though).

Nice ryokan in Shinjuku”
I enjoyed my stay at Keiunso Hotel. I spent a night there at one of the Japanese style single rooms. I really love the traditional Japanese tatami bed. I found it comfortable. Good location and convenient. 5 minutes walk to Shinjuku station and Family Mart is just 2 minutes away.

Great hotel with friendly and accomodating staff”
I had only booked one night at this hotel and wished that I had stayed here for my entire trip to Tokyo. The location and value of the hotel cannot be beaten. It's only a 5 minute walk from JR Shinjuku station and walking distance to all the different attractions in Shinjuku. Furthermore, the staff was extremely nice and allowed me to store my gigantic suitcase at their place for 2 days even though I had no other reservations at the hotel. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Tokyo. This hotel does have a curfew, but if you are running late, just give them a call and they will wait for you.

Convenient cozy hotel in the big city”
I enjoyed my one night stay at the Keiunso. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Price was very reasonable for a hotel close to JR Shinjuku station. I only wished the curfew was a little later.

Awesome location! Cosy and very clean room! ”
Very convenient location, only about 3 to 5 mins walk from Shinjuku South Exit. Located in the alley before you reach Shinjuku Sunroute Hotel. A very good location for getting around Tokyo since Shinjuku station is an interchange for many other subway lines. A very cozy and clean Japanese style that I have got. Friendly staff as well. Will come back and stay again when I visit Tokyo in the near future. Absolute value for money!

quiet location in the heart of Shinjuku”
If you are looking for a hotel which is convenient and clean, this is one of the best choices in the heart of Shinjuku. Just 3 minutes walk from Shinjuku JR station south gate, you can find this small hotel in the small street. Even it is not big, but signs are clearly be seen and i find it no difficult in locating it at all. If you are taking flight to Haneda Airport, it is even better as there's airport limosine going to Sunroute Hotel which is just 1 minute away from Keiunso Hotel.

Nice stay”
I liked Keiunso Hotel very much, it was nice and clean. For me the curfew and the cleaning time period did not cause any problem, since I planned outdoor activities for every day. I just wish the internet (wifi) could be used in the rooms as well.

Friendly and comfortable small hotel”
Very comfortable place with large rooms and we chose the tradition tatami mats and it was very cozy and nice to sleep in. The owner of the place was very friendly although little english was spoken, she even offered us umbrella when it rained. The room was large and spacious, largest for 2 person as compared to the other budget hotels we stayed in Tokyo. Located near to JR and subway line, a short walk from major departmental stalls. cons: Place small and located along narrow small road, had to ask for help in finding location. The place closes its doors after 12am hence not suitable for those who like to go out for nightlife. Place cleaning from 10am to 4pm hence cannot return to hotel during that time as it is closed.

Very clean and tidy room”
It is a Japanese style hotel room with Tatami. It may be small by western standard. Indeed this is the typical size for Japanese style room. The room is cleaned and tidy up nicely. They even changed the sheet when there is dirt on the sheet. Also they brought in and refilled a bottle of tea everyday. It was very warm. The location is 5 min to Shinjuku station. For those who like night life, they lock the door after midnight and you are required to leave the room between 10am - 4pm.

Most convenient location/well-priced ryokan stay”
Stay here is great if you're on a budget. Besides, for this price, you get a traditional ryokan feel, instead of the common modern hotel rooms. Ensuite bathroom/toilet was very convenient. Perfect location in Shinjuku just 3 minutes walk from station, clean, ryokan design

Great location, quiet area, nice pricing”
The hotel is located about 4 min. walk away from JR Shinjuku station (south gate) where lots of restaurants/ department stores/ shops abound in the area. Quite nice location for street shopping. Guests need to leave the lodging 10am -4pm for room cleaning and there is a 12am curfew at door, but works fine with me. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful; the area is quiet and relaxing even though the hotel is situated in a busy street. Pretty convenient for city sightseeing.

A small budget friendly Japanese hotel in Tokyo”
Despite having to walk down a bit of a dark alley and a midnight curfew, the hotel is well placed to get around Tokyo. It also offers an affordable experience of the traditional Japanese style bedrooms which are always expensive in Ryokans. You have to vacate the hotel between the hours of 10am and 16:00pm which can problematic and we were unable to use the internet as we did not have a SoftBank wifi account and did not want to pay to use the internet (which is freely available in other hotels). As we were only there for two nights, this was not too much of a problem, however, for longer stays some people may find this bothersome. In addition, instructions on how to use the heating/air con system in English would be useful to non-Japanese speakers. On the whole, for the budget price for a hotel in Tokyo, it was a pleasant stay.

Comfortable and just a cosy hotel for sleepingonly”
Overall good experience..my flight was to arrive at Tokyo at 11pm and however the reception and hotel closes at midnight. No access to your room after midnight! Emailed them saying I might be late due to my flight and they were very accommodating to wait for me till 1am that day. However my flight delayed and reached the hotel at 2:30am. Luckily had a Japanese friend who fetched me from airport to hotel. The hotel was closed and locked when I reach at 2:30am. Friend called them and they opened the door for me to check in.. Good if you speak Japanese.. Or else will be difficult!!

It is a very small hotel located just 2 mins walk from shinjuku JR station south gate. We love the japanese style room even it is not big, but good enough and you cannot find such great deal in such convenient location . At the end, we are simply looking for clean, safe and comfortable hotel to stay in shinjuku, and this is just prefect! Value for money!

Great value centrally located Inn in Shinjuku!”
I had a great stay at Keiunso. For a solo traveller or small group its economically & serves the purpose of a no frill ryokan w/ free wifi at lobby a few steps away from the room. The room & futon wre clean & very comfortable. The midnight curfew did not bother me at all.

Ideal location for shopping, but Tiny room!”
Pros: 1. Great location for shopping & dinning 2. Easy access to public transportation (Shinjuku station): JR, Metro, Shuttle bus to airports, Train to areas outside Tokyo 3. Clean room Cons: 1. Very tiny Japanese Styled room (9.X sqm)with few amenities 2. Wifi access only in reception area (inconvenient for guests to use in their rooms and not much space to hang around at reception area either) 3. Inflexibility for hotel/room access (guests were requested to vacant their rooms from 10 am-4 pm for their daily cleaning schedule and cannot return to hotel after midnight as the hotel entrance will be closed and no one on duty at the reception.)

Nice stay”
It was a nice stay. It's at a very good location. At centre of shinjuku. EAsy to go shopping and see around shinjuku. Room also very nice because it's traditional Japanese style. With tatami. U can really feel the culture. Only one down point is the hotel close at mid night. So u can't go out after midnight. Or can go out but only can come back After 6 am when they open.
