"Highly recommend this place for a tropical jungle getaway"
April 15, 2016
With its great location just below the Kep National Park, all of the 10 nicely decorated bungalows with a private balcony offer a fantastic view down the ocean and further to the Bokor Mountain. The big property is full of exotic flowers and fruit trees which provide a lot of shade and privacy on the balcony of the bungalows. The infinity pool just in front of the restaurant offers deck chairs, and it is the perfect place for a sunset cocktail during happy hour. The restaurant with a pool table and bar becomes lively during the evenings and is a great place to make some new friends and to share some travel experiences. The staff of the Kep Lodge are extremely friendly and attentive, and they are happy to share their life story with you.
"Surrounded by nature, it was a truly relaxing place to be."

Poor interior design ”
Room is big and great location but air con is warm and I had to use two wall fan to make myself not sweaty. No WiFi at room, very poor interior design in room and smelly super old bathroom, not clean. I will not go back again!
Having looked at many hotels in Kep over the last 5 years I keep coming back to Kep Lodge. It's a beautiful setting, fantastic pool and private accommodation. Staff performance sometimes a bit sporadic but well meant. It really is the best option in Kep and I will keep returning. So peaceful and relaxing.
Loved our 4 days at Kep Lodge. The jungle surroundings and proximity to the town and crab market make Kep Lodge a must stay location. The staff were very friendly, and on hand to cater to all our requests. Thank you Dan, and team for making our stay comfortable. Special thanks to Pheakday and Mr Norm. To anyone venturing to Kep, a visit to the butterfly nursery is must. The staff at Kep Lodge can arrange a tuk tuk for you to get there.
Authenitic Cambodian Oasis”
A quaint thatched bungalow with exquistite beauty, but remember simplisty. Bathroom very basic, but remember again rustic simplisty. A hammock on your balcony, mosquito coils to scare the mozzies away, what better way to spend you arvo/night. Staff were helpful. The pool was relaxing. Transport can be organised from the lodge. The national park is at your door step. Crab market down the road for your restuarant experience.
A great escape! ”
My first impressions weren't the best; we didn't have towels in the bungalows and the shower was quite weak. But my impressions changed quickly. We had a mid-afternoon lunch and the food was excellent! The views from the upper deck of the lobby/restaurant were gorgeous. And the staff were second to none. Not just good customer service, but sincere customer service. We had dinner on the spacious balcony of my friend's bungalow. The chocolate mousse is incredible--consistency of brownie batter loaded with dark chocolatey flavor. I had a few visitors in my open air bungalow--two different species of Cambodian frogs and a big ol' jungle spider. But these guys were all quite chill and didn't mean any harm. (If you're afraid of the critters I recommend you stay in one of the air-conditioned bungalows.) At night, the fan-cooled rooms were breezy and the mosquito net provided ample protection. The only things I'd like to see improved for next time would be the showers and the pool which needed a good cleaning. We are already planning our next trip to Kep Lodge. With luscious gardens, excellent food, beautiful views, tranquil jungle in the back and some of the best service I've had, Kep Lodge is a great escape!
Excellent staff and lush surroundings”
The desk and restaurant staff here are wonderful! The room is basic and no frills but the terraces are excellent and a private space to unwind and relax. One strong suggestion is the pool water was quite thick, cloudy and oily and would be wonderful if serviced and cleaned more frequently given the heavy use by guests. Also check to make sure if you rent a motorbike that the headlight is working. Overall a GREAT place to stay!
Great place, staff and atmosphere”
Kep lodge was excellent in all areas. The setting was stunning, beautiful gardens and a pool that looks out over the ocean. The staff are outstanding, and they cater to many languages. The atmosphere is relaxed and the lodge is a great place for families and solo travelers alike. The bungalows are beautifully set out and each one feels private. It was a hard place to leave!
A great weekend get away”
Never wanted to leave my bungalow! Everything you could need, including an outside comfy seating area facing the ocean and complete with hammock for afternoon nap. The biggest gecko on record at the hotel found its way into my room, which ended up being one of the most entertaining parts of the trip.
Really enjoyed Kep Lodge, so much so that we booked an extra night. The staff working there were amongst the friendliest that I have come across anywhere in Asia so we were made to feel very welcome. The room (fan only) was nice and cool and was well equipped. The pool had a lovely view but in my opinion, was in need of a clean. The food in the restaurant is a little more expensive than other places, but really delicious.
Disappointed after reading reviews and seeing pictures”
Clearly put we had 2 adults and 3 kids. When there they said the rate was for 4 persons so they will charge us extra $5 for the free breakfast. Not impressed. We stayed 3 nights and they said they only charged us for 2 days extra breakfast because of the issues we had. The issues was that the air-conditioning was broken so dripped water on us the first night as we slept because it was positioned over our heads. We complained and they "fixed" it. It did it again second night. We had to pull the bed away from wall. They "fixed" it again. Third night it dripped again on us so we had to pull the bed away from wall again. The rooms have mould in the corners and the floors are dirty. sheets and pillows have marks on them. I think because they hang dry outside & also burn things close by. Upside is pool area is nice. Restaurant has limited menu. Good prices. Beer comes in cold mugs which is awesome. The debit machine was broken so had to pay cash. We almost didn't have enough $$
Just fine. Nice big rooms, friendly staff, very nice environment!”
Thanks for staying!
No electricity all, day, no body explained us why and we've been charge an extra day in cash for obsurs reasons”
I'm still dealing with agoda to recover the money i've been summed to pay at check out, the electricity was off all day i don't know why, which i wouldn't have mind if it wouldn't have been a surprise , and if at least the water was working in both the toilet and the shower. The staff didn't help much, the included breakfast worth 50Cents or you need to pay extra.
Not as good as it used to be ”
This was my third time here and it was sad to see how it's gone downhill. They want the place sold and the owner isn't doing much to keep the business going. The staff are very nice, but cleanliness and the food isn't great. The breakfast is still good though. I hope someone buys the place soon and can restore it back to what it was. Until then...I won't be going back.
Run down and overpriced”
The pool is nice, but otherwise the rooms are rundown and in disrepair. The more expensive 'deluxe' rooms have a nice balcony, but they're conjoined to another room with only a flimsy door in between. Better options available for less or just go to Veranda.
LOVED KEP LODGE”
This was incredible, we loved our two night stay! We stayed at the coconut, we had no air con or hot water yet it was still beautiful, you don't really need the aircon, the breeze is beautiful. The staff were all great, only one lady was a tad abrupt but the others were great. The food was average but drinks and destination was fabulous! Highly recommend this place for a tropical jungle getaway
Fantastic place to stay!”
I only spent 1 night there, but I definitely want to return. The Lodge is located around the national park which means the bungalows are surrounded by brightly coloured flowers and plants of all different kinds. You can wander the pathways, relax by the pool, sit upstairs watching the sunset over the ocean and chat with the friendly staff. I felt really comfortable there. The only thing to be aware of is that is it a bit far out of the main town, especially if you want to go out in the evening. The staff are happy to call a tuktuk though.
Luxury without the Price”
After spending many months in $6 a night places this was an extravagance for me. I was looking for a few days of quiet and relaxation, catching up on reading a book by the pool. The only down side was a group of children splashing in the pool and completely taking it over.
A wonderful place to rest”
Mr Say was a wonderful host who ensured we had everything we need. We enjoyed the lovely pool which had a childsafe section. The rooms were very pleasant and the gardens enjoyable. Only a $2 tuk tuk ride to Kep restaurants for a crab dinner.
Bungalows quite old and bed not very comfortable but other than that a pleasant stay in very peaceful surroundings. Great bar/lounge area with pool table, and upstairs great sea view. Also probably the best pizza's in Kep. A renovation of the bathroom's to a more contemporary style, new thicker bed mattresses and upgrading the dinosaur TV's to flatscreen would make a huge difference to the old bungalows. The newer bungalows look much better so next time I will try them out.
We had a very comfortable stay at Kep Lodge. The Lychee Room was spacious, all amenities worked, Wi-Fi OK, little far to walk to the beach, so hired a scooter from the lodge. Able to arrange onward bus travel although this is easy to arrange for yourself in Kep Village.
