Great location!!”
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Everything is accessible. MTR (Wanchai Station) is just 2 blocks away. If you prefer buses, there are also bus stops just in front of the hotel to take you around the area. From this hotel to the airport, you may want to ask the reception for the A11 bus stop. We preferred this than the MTR Airport Express since it is cheaper. For the accomodation, the hotel lobby is a bit small but the room is quite big for two people. The aircon was a lifesaver since it was sooo hot outside. The staff were amiable. And the best part is that they provide a free phone with unlimited wifi where you can bring wherever you wanted.(Just make sure to give it back after your stay) Overall, our stay in Kew Green Hotel is amazing.
Metropark Hotel Wanchai: in the heart of the city”
We were at Metropark Hotel Wanchai just before the Hong Kong 7's, when the city gears up for a huge influx of visitors. And Wanchai, being a popular area for visitors at any time of the year, is definitely a lively area! The hotel is right in the thick of things on Hennessey, a major road. The nearest MTR is only about 5 minutes' walk, and the trams that can take you all over the island are the next street over. Times Square, with its fine shopping and a cinema, is only about a 30 minutes' walk. Our room on the 10th floor was great, above most of the noise from Wanchai's bustle. The room was quite spacious by Hong Kong standards and had a soft bed (fairly rare by Chinese standards, as we know from living in mainland China). There is an amazing number of eateries, pubs, and bars within the immediate area. Families with small children may be a little put off by the...dancers...at the clubs nearby (Wanchai is, after all, a red-light district in some blocks), but the area always feels safe (we were more amused than anything else by the...ladies). The spectacular "Symphony of Lights" is about 25 or so minutes' walk. I highly recommend it!!! It's definitely a singular attraction. This hotel is a solid choice for the money. We didn't eat at the hotel: I only rate the food/dining as a "3" because I can't submit this review otherwise.
Great Value for money”
Due to Hong Kong protest activities, many hotels lower room rate , so does Kew Green. The room rate very attractive, we satisfied with the nice staff, good location which is walk-able distance to Wanchai MTR, the facilities are well-maintained, except the lift is a bit slow as we stayed in 17th floor. Overall it is worth for recommending to friends and family to stay.
Well located hotel and comfortable rooms”
I was in Hong Kong for a conference and chose the metropark wanchai for its proximity to the conference venue. The hotel is very centrally located to all the important business and convention centres on Hong Kong's main island. It's very close to the MTR station and walking distance from the waterfront. The location is near the rather seedy wanchai area and its many bars but you do not need to pass through these areas to get to the hotel. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and well equipped. WiFi is available in all rooms but is chargeable. The bar is a bit of a letdown but when you're in HK you're spoilt for choice with places like LKF just a short train ride away. All in all, a very well located hotel to use as a base of operation for your travel in HK. Well priced for the location and amenities.
Great value for price in Wan Chai”
The Metropark Hotel Wan Chai was a gem to find in Hong Kong island. If you are looking for a newly renovated yet affordable place on Hong Kong island and don't mind staying in the "bar district" of Wan Chai, choose the Metropark Hotel Wan Chai. I chose the hotel because it was affordable and part of the Metropark hotel chain. Even though I spent most of my Hong Kong stay on the Kowloon side, I found the public transportation near the hotel very convenient. The airport transfer service was very convenient upon arrival. I was surprised to see how clean and new the hotel was upon arrival. We were granted a room upgrade after our first night (they weren't able to give us an upgrade the first night due to a fully booked hotel). The customer service was top notch - everyone was overly friendly and extremely accommodating, from arrival to departure. Very modern and upgraded bathrooms, and beds were comfortable for Asia standards. 7-eleven right across the street from the hotel entrance and another right around the corner from the hotel entrance. The only downside was the Wan Chai area close to midnight - lots of shady people doing shady business in the area. Besides that, the hotel was an excellent choice - very close walking distance to the Wan Chai metro station and a few steps to major bus stops. I would definitely choose to stay here again the next time I visit Hong Kong and want to stay in Hong Kong instead of Kowloon.
Good Value; Good Choice”
Kew Green was a good choice for our 4-day visit to Hong Kong. Our room was relatively small, but perfectly adequate. The room had all the standard amenities. WiFi was strong throughout the hotel. The loan of a local smartphone was a great benefit; we simply tethered our phones to it, and used it as a WiFi hotspot everywhere (except the day-trip to Macau, but that's not part of Hong Kong). Wan Chai isn't the most exciting neighborhood in Hong Kong, but it is close to Central and Admiralty and other neighborhoods. Taxis are cheap in Hong Kong, and the Wan Chai MTR station is only about 3 blocks away. There are convenience stores, grocery stores and restaurants in the neighborhood.
clean, comfortable rooms, in the heart of the city”
The MetroPark Wanchai more than met expectations for a reasonably priced, comfortable hotel in the heart of Hong Kong. It is exactly as advertised. Newly renovated, clean, relatively spacious rooms and bathrooms. Very friendly and helpful staff made check in and check out a breeze, and gave useful recommodations showing they were knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely stay there again -- a real find given how expensive a city Hong Kong is, and how small accommodations can be there. Note -- disregard Food/dining rating. I did not partake in the hotel breakfast (not free).
Happy Guest ”
I saw some of the hotel photos on Agoda.com upon making the reservation and I was really impressed with how the hotel looked. The rates were low and I was having doubts on how the hotel would look like in real. When I was finally there, I have to say that I was more than just relieved. The hotel looked brand new (they recently had a refurbishment) and the hotel staff were extremely friendly. We paid for 2 standard rooms but were upgraded to a deluxe and an executive room. I suppose they ran out of standard rooms and we were really lucky. The hotel is only approximately 300m away from the nearest MTR station and a convenience store (7-11) is located right opposite the hotel. I would definitely return to Metropark Hotel Wanchai in my next trip to Hong Kong.
Convenience on Steroids”
The Metropark Wanchai is a perfectly situated hotel for location and convenience. The rooms are reasonably sized with high speed internet accessibility. It is convenient for both business and pleasure travelers and reasonably priced. Just a walk out the hotel front door and you can find just about anything ie restaurants, coffee houses, bakeries, even a foot reflexology center right across the street. The MTR (HK subway system) is about 2 blocks down, which will take you virtually all over Hong Kong. The lobby of the hotel is clean, neat, fresh, and there is a small coffee bar service available - perfect for meeting vendors/clients. They have an excellent Western & Asian breakfast for about $89 HKD ($11 USD) but you can also order eggs to taste. The staff is friendly and courteous and bend over backwards to be helpful. I stay there every time I go to HK and have never had a complaint.
Friendly staff/great location”
The staff went out of their way to help us as we had a great deal of baggage They were always friendly and willing to answer any questions and give us shopping tips. The rooms were clean and large for Hong Kong standards. The air-conditioning worked well and was silent. The hotel lobby is comfortable and relaxing. We did not eat there but wandered through the buffet and the food looked delicious and the price was reasonable. The hotel is located in WanChai and is close to many bars and restaurants.
Excellent hotel - great location”
I have lived at the Metropark WanChai many times in my visits to Hong Kong and is by far my favorite hotel there. Its location in WanChai is close enough - yet far enough away from the excellent nightlife there. A 5 minute walk to the MTR makes the location great - and the fact that the hotel is served by the Airport Express Bus, makes it all the better. Rooms are slightly larger than thypical Hong Kong size, and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff is very helpful.
Great Location Freindly service”
A modern well maintained hotel right in the middle of Wanchai . Very convienient for the exibition centre and minutes walk to Wanchai MTR Station. The room was clean modern and reasonable size for Hong Kong. The aircon ,bed ,bathroom were all New and worked well. I dined in the restaurant and the food was amazing ,Service impeccable and very well priced for such gourmet quality. All in all a great hotel in the medium Hong Kong price range. I will most definately return.
The Metropark Hotel Wanchai, Good value hotel in t”
As someone who used to live in Hong Kong I knew the hotel as the Singapore hotel many years ago. I was looking for a hotel which was close to both the party scene of Wanchai and a short hop to Central which is just 2 stops on the MTR (underground). The hotel itself has been completely updated and kept very clean, with the lift buttons sterilised every hour. The rooms are a decent size for HK, with good, firm beds and stone floored bathrooms. All rooms feature cable TV, internet connection and depending on your room choice a bath or shower room. On arriving I asked for an upgrade, because if you don't ask you don't get, and was upgraded to a double room the next day so worth asking. To summarise, a great hotel for the person who wants to be near the center of HK without the vast expence of the bigger hotels and I will be using it again if I can get in on my next trip.
Great Service”
In the middle of the Wanchai business district, The Metropark Wanchai provides a comfortable stay with a reasonable price tag. Service is great, staff are friendly. Internet is free if staying in a Spacious Comfort room type. Like most rooms in Hong Kong business districts, they are small and compact. However, if only only for sleeping, it does not really matter. Restaurant in hotel is so-so, but there are plenty of eateries nearby.
My favorite hotel in Hong Kong!”
The MetroPark WanChai is my favorite hotel in Hong Kong. I visit Hong Kong several times each year and make it a point to stay here every time. The rooms are very clean, quiet and the staff is friendly. The location is excellent; with the entertainment and restaurants of WanChai as well as a short walk to the MTR, the location gives access to all of the Hong Kong attractions.
Great Value”
For traveller wishing to stay in the Wanchai area, this is THE hotel to stay in. Walking distance to the MTR,plus 24hr Chinese fastfood ( good food too) along Lockhart road at the back. The hotel restaurant has a buffet lunch for only. If you purchase the Air Express train ticket at the airport to Hong Kong, you are entitled to free shuttle service(round trip) to selected hotels and the Metro Park is just across the road from the Empire Hotel drop off. I will definitely stay in Metro Park on my next trip to Hong Kong
Great location and clean rooms”
This hotel is by far one of the best hotels I stayed in Hong Kong. Taking account of the fact that hotel prices have risen sharply in the past few months this hotel is definitely worth the money. Just one block from Wanchai station and the tram station is just across the street from the hotel. 10 minute walk to Pacific Place and a 10minute tram ride to Causeway bay. The rooms were very nice except you hear loud music coming from the neighborhood at night(seeminly there are night clubs around the hotel)
Wan Chai's Most Perfectly Situated Hotel”
The next time I visit Hong Kong this hotel will definitely be on the list of hotels that I will consider again, of course depending on the hotel prices at that time. I liked everything about this hotel, it was to me perfectly situated. Just a stone's throw away from Wan Chai MTR and just at the most 5 stops from most of the other MTR station's I had intended to visit. Not to mention food shop's or as the locals call them "Char Chan Teng's" galore! I did just as all the websites on the internet tell you to do. Find one with lots of people gathered inside and you wont go wrong. As for the hotel room itself. My room was very very spacious. I am stating this as I stayed in two different hotels during my trip there. And I am comparing the Wan Chai Metropark to the other which was of the same star level. The bathroom was spacious as well compared to the other! With everything said, I can say that I had no regrets staying at this hotel and recommend it to all that are planning to visit Hong Kong in the near future! =)
Just right”
I booked this hotel because of the location and the rate. You are not going to get better in Hong Kong for this price. The location is excellent for moving around Hong Kong. The front desk was very helpful when I asked for information for onwards travel. I have stayed in several hotels in Wanchai, but I would reccomend this one and when I return to Hong Kong I will stay here.
Metropark Hotel Wanchai Hong Kong”
The location of the hotel is the best. From the airport, you can take the City Shuttle bus, A11 (40 minutes), and it will stop just in front of the hotel. It will cost you HKD40 whereas if you take the Airport Express ( 24 minutes), the trip will cost you HKD 100. The room is big and room service is excellent. The staff are very polite and professional. The MRT, Wanchai, is just 2 minutes away from the hotel whereby from there, you can plan your journey from there. Causeway Bay is just 4 minutes away (by bus) from the hotel. There are many restaurants around the hotel whereby, you can try many of the local dishes. I will definitely stay at the hotel again when I go to Hong Kong.
