Tourist trap
Situated close to the beach
2 years ago that resort with the name t.c.huts had another owner, better conditions, much cheaper prices and it was always booked out. Today the huts are rodden. The huts are seriously not ready to let somebody sleep in. I made pictures if somebody want to see details. I was the only one guest the most time and the neightboor said he never saw much guests in the last 2 years. They also dont provide food. There is just a fridge for drinks. Aircon is old and dont work proper. The positive comments here must be faked. They doesnt fit to the reality. I never gave a negative feedback here but i havent enjoyed this accomodation at all. It was like " just 2 nights to go...just one night to go" I would appreciate if agoda would give me a partly refund because the facts and details of this add are wrong! I feel betrayed a little. I know what i can get for around 1200bat... this accom shouldnt be more worth than 500bat at maximum!

fantastic location shame about the accommodation
location, staff,
This is a small family run bungalow resort, the gentlemen who owns the bungalows is a very friendly, very helpful and kind man, if we asked for anything he got it for us almost immediatley, so it was a shame our bungalow was very tired, in need of an update, the floor moved, holes in the wall, ceiling and floor, if your happy sharing your bungalow with a few insects, bugs and gecko,s then you will be ok, but you need to take your own mosy net, which we didnt have, we had booked 3 nights which we did stay because the location was perfect and the owner was a very kind and helpful man.

Great beachfront location
Location Staff Price
I won't lie, this was basic accommodation - unrenovated (but clean) bungalow (standard plus). We were upgraded on arrival as it wasn't full. BIG bathroom, hot water, AC, TV with two English cable channels, big front window, wide covered terrace. The bed was hard and windows not well covered, so lots of light coming through in the morning. Bring an eye-mask. If you're used to basic lodgings and just care about cleanliness you will have no complaints. The odd bug/gecko will make its way inside. What makes it worth the compromise on star-rating is the position - right next to the pier, garden with grass and pines, steps to crystal clear water - koh mak has the clearest, cleanest water in Thailand that I've seen so far. The absolute beach front bungalows are newer and from what I gather less rustic. It was also within 5 min walk of a dozen restaurants - the busiest strip on the island - which was important because it's dark on the island and riding around at night can end you up in a red mud pit (as happened to us).

Relaxing and good beach at friendly hotel
Beach, canoe, hospitality
I stayed in an very basic and simple bungalow. Aircon and a bed that was good (I like when bed is quite hard). The owner is very nice and speaks good English. Some bungalows are perhaps a little out of date (mine had an inner roof that was broken) if you choose the cheapest ones like I dig. On the other hand it´s an environmental friendly hotel and what can be more environmental than not building new bungalows every year!? Actually I like when things gets used, that is how you save on earth's resources.

Few days in paradise!
1. Stuff - very friendly and helpful. You can ask about everithing, they can help You get it! 2. Perfect location - on the best beach on island (Ao Kao), 3. Resort - the best on the beach (climate)
Every 6 of us are very happy of this stay and our choise. The place is magic (Koh Mak) - quiet, with beautiful views. And the choice of resort was the best which we could made: 1. near to Makantanee pier, where You are comming with speed boat, 2. the beach is wide and clean (not everywhere they are cleaning beach, 3. Very friendlu stuff, 4. Cheap and the best food on the island (clean, good made). The best vacation in our life. Thank You Kham nature Resort.

extended our stay, was great!
beachside, clean, staff - really good people
-every bungalow has a sea view and is located just few steps to the lovely clean beach, surrounded by palm trees. -even though we were in high season (early February), there weren't many people at our sight, felt like we had that beach for ourselves. This part of the Ao Kao beach, shared with makanathee and holiday beach resorts, has the widest sandy shore and is cleaned daily. Water itself is clear and turquoise but sometimes gets muddy (crystal clear at calm sea with low waves). Try renting a motorbike and find the secluded Turtle beach for majestic views and quietness and a little bit of snorkeling. -The very friendly owner is the only English speaking person, but this wasn't the problem at all! He were more than eager to help us with everything, We just loved all the staff, especially the Cambodian couple. -dogs were very lazy and friendly but at night they were turning into a horde barking at everyone (don't know if they were actually the same dogs since it was dark)It happened two times we all loved the place, the people there and extended our stay for another 3 nights.I wish we stayed more!
