Nice staff and nice rooms”
my husband and i really enjoyed staying at khamphone guesthouse. this guesthouse is off the main roads, on a quieter street, with a nice view of the surrounding landscape. it is a short walk (5 minutes) to nearby bike rental and trip booking shops, and to the main restaurant streets. they offer inexpensive laundry services and free coffee/tea before 10am. we found the staff to be friendly and relaxed, and the guesthouse was clean and well-maintained. we found the guesthouse location to be quite quiet, but another couple that we spoke to found it to be noisy at night. if noises like occasional passing cars or people talking bothers you at night, then you might request a room that doesn't have windows facing the street. overall we were very satisfied with our stay, if we go back to vang vieng we'd book there again.

Decent hotel for price”
we stayed two nights in a fan only double with ensuite. room was clean, with tv and free water. standard wet room shower, though was cold despite saying it would be hot. sink leaked water onto bathroom floor due to poor plumbing, but same for most hotels/ guesthouses in se asia. for price though, would probably stay again if visiting vang vieng. staff friendly, provided free tea/ coffee, maps and information around town.

Cheerful service and well placed”
after being a little apprehensive about vang vieng - it is a back packer paradise with lots of adrenaline activities, and we are seniors! ...it proved to be really enjoyable. great scenery and choice of good eating houses. we did a balloon trip which was memorable and saw the caves.

Overall it is a good hotel. A room is clean. However there are a lot of hotels in Vang Vieng, I think too many actually, so you can shop around and might find better options.

Close to Everything But Quiet Area”
Not having stayed in guesthouse accommodations for quite some time, I really do not know how it compares but for 12 bucks a night, this seems like a pretty good deal. Room is a bit small for my taste, but it is clean. Hot water works. Cable TV, but not a ton of English channels. Good wi-fi connection. The people who run it seem very friendly. It is on a quiet street so you can sleep at night without having to hear music and loud drunk people. Good breakfast in the morning. At this time of year, it is not really that hot here and it gets a bit cool at night so you probably could do well with just a fan room. It is very close to the bus station, which is right behind the main street. Once you get to the main street, you will make a left. Once you see the Lao telecom office, it is the next right.

Clean hotel ”
The room is clean and the wifi is ok. Staff is friendly. Have tv , free bottle water and mosquito net which is really needed in van vieng. We had a cool night with the window opened, best sleep there. However, we moved to cheaper option next day, which in van vieng u can find a lot of cheaper rooms than here. Our room had a very nice view but without mosquito net though, Wifi was bit slower, so depends on individual to choose on the facilities and price.

Excellent location, excellent staff, reccomended! ”
We originally booked one night here and had planned to look around the following morning for something cheaper. We ended up staying 4 nights total and enjoyed our stay. the location is great, easy walking distance to all restaurants and far enough away from the bars that it is quiet at night. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We booked our mini-bus through the front desk to Vientiane and it worked out flawless. The room was basic but a great deal for the price. Always had hot water and the room was perfect with a fan this time of the year. We did not eat at the restaurant, so I cannot comment on the food. The highlight was definitely how friendly and helpful all the staff was. Overall I would highly recommend this guest house.

The guesthouse is in close to the center, but without the noise and music from pubs and bars. The brackfast is good, and the house owner and his family were very nice and kind. Rooms are pretty basic, but it s ok for the price

Uncomplicated reception by young Laotion couple, open atmosphere, value for money, close to the centre but less noisy, good room with only one dissonant: TV set high above the door. Furthermore: excellent guesthouse and with breakfast available for a small fee. Note: free coffee or thee before 10 AM

View from terrace is gorgeous! Room is ok, clean, no insects. Free water all day and free tea and coffee at the morning. 10-15 minutes to the center by walk. There are several cafes near with delicious food. Really nice place, would like to return here

the room is clean but a little old, the location was great and quite. only 5 mins to the city centre. I got a 2nd floor room which the stairs quite scary to walk but if you are looking for a quite budget hotel, this one it is.

My friend and I stayed in this guesthouse one night (Jan 24-25). When we checked out we asked about payment methods and got the answer "up to you" so we payed cash and left. To my great surprise I discovered that the same ammount of money (50000 kip) in russian rubles was withdranw from my bank card. To clear up this situation I called to this guesthouse and after a 5-minute dialogue(!) the girl suddenly was unable to understand english and when i asked to call someone who could speak and understand english she hung up on me! So here it goes, I insist on refunding my money asap otherwise I cannot reccomend anyone staying in this place if you value your time and money. My booking ID: 42929599.

this is very cheap place. but it is perfectly ok for a night or two, or if you prefer to use as much time as possible out of the hotel. clean, hot water, and loads of tv channels. friendly and professional staff. i think given the price this guest house should be ranked highly. it does give you a good value for money.

A little quiet guesthouse”
the guesthouse is located away from all the noise and partying, but still close enough to walk (takes about 10 mins). the room was really basic and nothing special to report. the staff was friendly but didnt knew about the included breakfast, so seems a bit odd. the price was a bit at the top end, i think you can get better for same price, or the same for a smaller price

Perfect location & good value for money”
We paid £10 per night for a double room. We had air con and a fan a tv, free bottled water and a basic but well working wet room. The room was well secured with 2 locks. The location is perfect, down a quiet street but in the town centre with shops and restaurants in very close walking distance

Guesthouse or Hotel ?”
There might be some confusion about Khamphone. While both locations, the Khamphone Hotel and the Khamphone Guesthouse, are on the same address, the two differ a lot. When I stopped there the first time I was a walk-in and I got a room in the "Hotel", which is more or less ok, might be a bit overpriced. A couple days later back from the south, I had a booking from Agoda, and I agree, did book the Guesthouse, the price was the same as a couple days before, so I didn't notice the difference of "Hotel or GH" So when I arrived, I got the GH, the room was dark, smelled, no TV, no aircon. Staff was much less pleasant than the first time too. Seems not to be the best idea to make advance bookings with them. I'm just back from another trip from VV, needless to say I didn't stay there anymore.

Great location and friendly”
basic room but was clean. we had air conditioning and shower. managed to gety washing dine and returned on the same day. good breakfast. shop on the premises. cheap accommodation and great location. rented bicycles from place down the road and cycled around the river front . walking the restaraunts and bars. few random stray digs around. towels provided and there was hot water. quiet at night as not on main street so good nights sleep.
