Overlooking the Andaman Sea, the resort is situated near one of the quieter and cleaner beaches of Thailand. The easiest way to get here is to fly to Phuket, and then drive down the remaining 60 km or so. The area is surrounded by several islands that are protected national parks but are open for dives should you wish to further explore the underwater life. For a holiday a little off the beaten track, yet with all the amenities, Khaolak Laguna Resort is a place to be considered.

We just returned from one of our best holidays ever at Khaolak Laguna Resort! From the moment we arrived we were looked after like royalty! The garden villa was pristine, the beach was gorgeous and the pool was beautiful! I can't say enough good things about this place! It was definitely the nicest resort along the stretch of beach. It is right by town with many fantastic restaurants only a short stroll away. Breakfast is on another level and lunch is reasonably priced. Cocktails are a bit pricey but worth it (250 baht) of an afternoon (happy hour is at 4-5 for 175 baht). We didn't eat dinner as it was pretty pricey and with so many fantastic cheap eats so close, we ate out every night. There are also heaps of massage places on the beach with average of 350 baht for an hour. I recommend coconuts which is about 100m up the beach to the right. They also do 2 4 1 cocktails. We will find it hard not to come back here for the price and experience!!! Thanks for an awesome holiday!!!
Lovely hotel and good services”
We stay at Khaolak Laguna Resort for two nights. The hotel location is closed to small shops in walking distance. There is no problem when I check in. The services at front desk and at restaurant are good. The room is big enough for family with small child. The beach is beautiful with small light house. You can walk to the light house when it is low tide. Swimming pool was nice. It is next to the beach. My kid is enjoying the swimming pool and the beach. Food is good but a little bit expensive. I found, I choose the right choice to stay at Khaolak Laguna Resort. I will go back again.
Life is good!!!”
It's a very comfortable place! The breakfast was delicious! We had a very pleasant time! Walked on the beach or swimming on the pool was very relaxing! Khaolak is a very clean town with good places for shopping and see the local art! I'm Brazilian, but I just moved from Alaska to Thailand. Visited Khao Lak and stayed at Laguna Resort was like back to home and visited old friends! I want to go back soon!
Hotel with The Best View from Pool Area”
We are Happy...Khaolak Laguna Resort have The Best pool area in Khao Lak..the view from the pool to the beach is fantastic and romantic, the room is big,the garden very nice, the breakfast so delicious and their service is good
Nice Hotel with Great Beach..and beautiful Rock”
I stayed here for 4 nights, first 2 nights with my closed-friend. We took a taxi from Phuket, about 1 - 1.15 hours from Phuket Airport, about 2,000.- 2,200 Baht. If you make very great negotiation, you might get 1,500.- (I did), but from Taxi from Khao Lak to Phuket Airport, you may get 1,000.- 1,200.- Baht, try to find. Located just the mountain's foot. The beach location of hotel is really great, you will not see just nice beach, but also beautiful rocks. Hotel has Thailand's northern design; architecture and interior design, and even the staffs' uniform. Full of green trees and palms. Staffs are really friendly. Dinner buffet at the beach side is really amazing, very romantic especially for couples and family-teams, but it depends on the weather. First 2 days were heavy rain. High season will start mid September and especially in October. Dinner Buffet is 250.- Baht, I think it's reasonable price, coz when you have dinner outside hotel, one menu (1 dish), you might pay (at least) 120 0r 160 Baht (for this low season), so my friend and I had dinner at hotel was pretty convenience, coz nice food and can have as much as we can, and especially with rainy season. For Thai people, price will be less 10%!!! For low (rainy) season, this small village is pretty empty. If you love clean place (I mean cleaner than Phuket and many tourist places in Phuket), location is in order, you like nature, you like peace, travel with family or couples, clean beaches, and expenses are cheaper than Phuket about 10%, Khao Lak is the right place for you. About the hotel's room...big, in general clean, but for my room, I found the bathtub was not clean enought, but it did not disturb me, coz I used the seperated shower corner. In general, we felt good, just only heavy rain and strom..
Wonderful and Romantic Getaway at an Amazing Price”
This is absolutely a beautiful resort in Khaolak. It is close to the "town", so walkable to many shops and restaurants. We stayed in one of the private huts, which were absolutely beautiful. The grounds are well kept and the staff is very friendly. The price is absolutely incredible, especially considering we travelled over Christmas. The room included a breakfast buffet which was delicious and included many options, both Western and Thai cuisine. Some of the best pancakes we've ever tried! The resort also has beach access, and while very small and busy, it is nice to have given our experience with the alternative in other parts of Thailand. My only "complains" (if I had to find any) would be that some of the huts lack privacy as they are very close together and near walking paths on the resort and that the location of the resort is near the beginning of the town, so you may have to walk a fair bit to get to some of the better known bars and restaurants. If you have a chance to stay here, I would highly recommend it.
Nice spot to relax”
Having been to Phuket many times, I decided to go north of the airport on this trip and check out Khao Lak. I am glad I did. Much more quiet and beautiful. The Laguna is a lovely, spacious resort. The restaurant on the beach is a great place to end the day and watch the sun go down. Between May and October the sea swell comes from the west, so I was actually able to body surf every day. As a native of Southern California, I loved that, although I was the only one in the water. The water is not real clear, as it is a sandy bottom and all that churning sand clouds up the water. But the water is clean. My room was beautiful, large and had everything I needed at a good price. I chose not to get a beach front room, as they were much more expensive. It was only a two minute walk to the beach anyway. The food in the restaurant was good as was the breakfast buffet. There is not much happening in the town, but the resort is a good place to relax. I did not go to the spa, but it looks nice.
Loved our stay at Laguna, breakfast selection & service was excellent. Pools & beach areas perfect. Style is very Oriental, so if you want modern trendy this isn't the place for you, lots of steps & levels too, if mobility is an issue. Located on the edge of the Main Street & plenty of restaurants & bars to choose from, ate somewhere different every night, all served good Thai food. Monkey Bar is a must, 10 min walk from Laguna, great live music & atmosphere. Khao lak is so relaxing, will be back & definitely stay at Laguna.
Lovely Hotel and great position.”
we loved khao lak laguna. well positioned close enough to walk into the local town and many restaurants. a beautiful setting on khao lak beach with 2 great swimming pools overlooking the beach. we had two rooms which were very spacious with door access between the two which was ideal for our family. the staff were very friendly and helpful and a good choice of food at breakfast. we would definately recommend it and stay again.
ONe of the best hotels I've ever stayed in”
I was blown away by this resort. We came for a weekend getaway (we live in Phuket) and wanted to relax and be pampered for a couple of nights and this hotel was perfect for this. The rooms were spacious and full of little details (a basket of fresh fruit for example). The resort in general is very nice and the service is very good - which is rare in Thailand. We loved lounging by the infinity pool and taking walks on the beach. A quick comment about the gym, there were 3 treadmills and only 1 was functional so this was a disappointment. Finally, don't go to Khao Lak for too long!! It is gorgeous and great for a relaxing holiday and you can do some day tours from there, but the town itself is very sleepy and quiet! Only about 3 restaurants in the whole town were opened when we stayed during low season!
Best hotel in Khao Lak? I think so!”
This is an outstanding hotel and well worth its star rating. Its location on a pretty little headland at one end of Khao Lak beach is just perfect - it is quiet, but walk 200m along the beach and turn right and you are in the centre of the town in minutes. We got an amazing deal for a huge chalet room with a sitting area AND a study area. Normally 8800 baht with an outstanding breakfast, but we got it for 7000 less! OK, you won't get this in season, but we had good weather and were laughing all the way to the proverbial bank! The decor is Thai at its best - even the trash bins are made of wood! And you don't need a beach umbrella by the pool when there are so many leafy palms to do the job. The grounds are truly amazing, with all sorts of birds dropping in from the local jungle. I will certainly be going back at the earliest opportunity while this hotel's crazy special offer lasts.
Wonderful hotel, definitely going back”
One of the best experience with a beach hotel. We went there during the high season, but the didn't find the beach or the hotel crowded at all. It's very quiet and relaxing, rooms are big and comfortable, hospitality is great. Very helpful staff to help you book your trips and activities. Very close to Khaolak town center, shoppings and restaurants all within walking distance. It's also a huge plus that they have high speed wifi everywhere in the hotel, even on the beach.
Packaged-tour hotel for the price of a luxury one”
i stayed at the khaolak laguna resort with my wife and our six-month old in january 2011 for four nights while the peak season was still on. although it seemed to be a luxury resort, most guests seem to be packaged-tour tourists from scandinavia and germany (you could see the tui and neckerman catalogs presented at the table). now, there is nothing wrong with packaged-tour tourists, except the feeling that we probably overpaid and everyone around you presumably paid much less.. having said that, all of khaolak seemed to be full of packaged-tour tourists. the breakfast was ok, but we missed the rice soup or other asian breakfast selections. the breakfast seemed to be tailored to an european audience, only. during breakfast, we regretted that no one would want to hold our baby (something we experienced at other places a lot). the good thing is there are a lot of stairs and no elevators. so carrying a stroller up and down the stairs was a good exercise to keep you fit! our room's bathroom had a foul smell, so next day we switched rooms. the second room was fine in terms of smell, and it had a better view (you could see actually the ocean from there). the swimming pool was awesome, but there was no service. you had to walk to the restaurant yourself to buy your drinks. not what i'd expect from a luxury hotel. overall, we had a great, relaxing time at the beautiful pool. the gym was well equipped and the equipment was in a good shape.
Very friendly, cosy resort with good facilities”
we stayed in this hotel during low season, so khao lak itself wasn't very busy. the hotel was very nice, with a good pool area facing the see. we've seen many other resorts during our beach walk, but haven't found one with a better pool area. service was very good: staff was friendly and willing to be of service. the cottages are nicely decorated, with very convenient large bathroom. it doesn't feel like you are in a hotelroom. breakfast was the best we had in our full 3-week stay in thailand with great choices!
Oasis in Khao Lak”
We had been travelling for 6 weeks and had just made our way to the Laguna Resort from Phuket - Kata area. Upon arriving the receptionist said they had not received our confirmation and was not excepting us. We had a PDF copy on our laptop and used their facilities to print off a copy. She dealt with our situation promtly and we were checked in quickly and was given refreshing grape juice drinks while we waited for approx 15 mins for the maids to prepare our Chalet room. The wait was worth it, our bath was filled with beautiful floating flowers which was a lovely touch. The room was very well designed, very spacious, had a lounge sofa sitting space, writing desk area and a make-up/tea/coffee table, comfortable bed, separate glass standing shower and a bath tub with a shower head too with fantastic water pressure and constant hot water, the best feature for me was the air con, it's very silent as I am a light sleeper and works fantastically well, if you like it very cold like us then it can feel like being in a fridge if you fancy it!!! We couldn't sit and relax out on the porch area without being eaten and attacked by the mosquitos, with our sitting porch area being located directly opposite a pond which am sure doesn't help. Originally we only booked to stay for 3 nights, but we decided to extend our stay by another week and asked to be relocated, they moved us to another room one level up which solved the mosquitos problem. The sunbathing and beach areas are perfect, enough beds and umbrellas for everyone, lovely peaceful relaxing environment. You can walk along the beach for miles in both directions and crab watching on the big rocks are a great past time. The National Park is about 2km away(5 mins by motorbike), the short (1.5km) but great trail leads you to a small private sandy beach where the water is much calmer is definately worth a visit. Overall we had a lovely time and really couldn't fault much.
Beautiful Location, Rooms Large, value for money”
Excellent Hotel, well maintained and great location. Certainly the best on that beach that we could see.5 Minute walk to the attractions of Khaolak. Service very friendly with a lot of trainee staff (gearing up for the season)but all very capable. Rooms were large but Bathrooms, although adequate, require more lighting as very dark.
Great resort with alot of ammenities and clean large rooms. The resort have lots of steps so may avoid if you have bad knees or any leg injury but other than that the hotel is perfect. We even get to experience another event called Loi Krathong at the hotel with some food and drinks provided which was a bonus as it was the last day of our trip. Would stay here again if we get to go back to Khao Lak. Also, the hotel is nearby shops and resaurants strip.
Excellent Resort in Khao Lak”
One thing we could say that sums up our 10 days at 'Laguna', "We'll be back". Absolutely loved the location, right on the sandy beach and yet almost in the town shopping area, with the so many excellent restaurants, small market shops and massage places. Two things that really were well above average for this resort was the immaculately kept gardens and the swimming pool area with the many pools right beside the beach. The pool water was great. Our chalet room was large with an 'as new bathroom' and very well appointed. Guests should be aware of the many steps in this resort that cannot be avoided and people with mobility issues will have a problem. Also be extremely careful of the freshly painted timber steps especially when they are wet after rain. They are as slippery as an ice rink.
Peaceful hotel on a quiet beach”
off season the sea was rough and we couldn't swim there because of the strong currents. nice pool area and a beautiful quiet beach with good beach chairs near the chalets. the staff provided a terry cotton sheets for the chairs which was nice and comfortable. we had some problem with a particular staff member but it was dealt well by the manager. the gym was nice even though all the treadmills didn't work even thought somebody came to fix them. it seemed to be the best hotel in khao lak centre, nice walking distance to the shops, bank, restarants and even mc donald's.
Great resort with great scenery ”
This resort is located at Khao Lak, close to the beach. I stayed at beach front oriental villa. The view point from the villa balcony is very great. Inside the villa you can find the necessary accommodation but no DVD player. All staffs were nice!!! Breakfast is various kind of western style but no any eastern style.
Take a look at these facilities:
