The Raweekanlaya Bangkok
Khaosan,Khaosan - View on map
"We spent 2 nights here as staycation. It's bit far from center Bangkok and there is no place to go around there (relatively near to Khaosan road, though). On the positive side, it's great place to stay quietly and do relaxation. You should not expect that the hotel is so-called 5 star hotel, but this hotel has a great style and we liked it. "

Royal Princess Larn Luang Hotel

"The Royal Princess is located 30 minutes walking distance to Khaosan Rd. It is very modern and for the hotels that I've enjoyed in Bangkok it's by far the best. As soon as you enter the large lobby you realize that this place is going to be nice. The staff was extremely helpful organizing transportation and answering questions relating to Bangkok. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The bathrooms are large and include a tub. I enjoyed the swimming pool with is its lounge chairs and covered day beds. For the price this place is such a bargain! We would definitely stay there again."

Nouvo City Hotel

"We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and were very happy with our choice. It is located very close to Khaosan Road (5 min walk) in a side street, so there's not a lot of traffic noise and there's even some street food and a lovely cafe right across the street, where you can even choose to spend an evening playing cards and watching children play in the street. The streets around Khaosan Road are also OK for going out, if you don't mind the traveller scene. If you want to do a lot of shopping or going out around Sukhumvit Road, you would be happier with a hotel nearer to Siam Square, because from this part of town the taxi takes an hour to get there. But it's very close to the pier (5 min walk) and you can take the Chao Praya River Express to the temples and the Palace (be careful to get off really quickly or you will miss your stop!). The hotel provides very good service throughout, a reasonable breakfast buffet and a very nice and helpful team of tour guides to organize trips in or around the city. The rooms are tastefully decorated and clean, the beds are reasonably comfortable for Thai beds (which are always on the hard side). So overall I must say we were very happy with our choice and we can recommend it without reservations. "

Prince Palace Hotel

"Was well worth the stay. Pool was amazing, spa/sauna/jacuzzi and gym is perfect. There's a few restaurants in the hotel so there are a few options. Staff are really friendly. Breakfast was so delicious (did I mention it was buffet) so there is a lot of variety!!! Under the hotel there's a market place if you feel like MBK is a bit of a way to shop. It's close to khaosan rd as well. Probably best to get a tuk tuk as we found the taxi was a rip off and they take you on the longest route. The cleaners too were amazing . Always replacing our towels and refilling our water ! Probably the most friendly and awesome place to stay in! I would stay there again!!"

Siam-Champs Elyseesi Unique Hotel Bangkok

"Was traveling with my significant other and we absolutely loved the hotel! The location is great! It’s right by the democracy monument so giving directions when taking a tuk-tuk or cab was easy, Khao San road and the golden mountain are just a few blocks away, and we quickly learned our was around the area. The staff was incredibly friendly and did a wonderful job of making us feel welcomed. Everything was kept very clean and the housekeepers came by daily to tidy up our room, empty the trash bins, and give us fresh towels. They stocked the room with toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, q-tips, and more! Our room also had a mini fridge which was very convenient and we used it to keep our many bottles of water cold. We also loved that we could easily control the temperature in our room with a very nice air conditioning system. The only reason it doesn’t get a 5 Star for facilities is because there are a few minor inconveniences, but nothing big enough to ruin our stay! The main inconvenience was the fact that the toilet is extremely close to the sink. I am 5’6 and my boyfriend is 6’0 and we were hitting our knees on the sink every rim we had to go to the bathroom. "Very nice place in a great location right by Khaosan Road. Very nice modern touches and good value. WiFi was difficult to stay connected. Pool area would be nice if opened later. Overall would definitely recommend if planning on staying somewhere close to Khaosan Road and still feeling like you are in a private retreat. "

"This hotel is very near Khaosan road and other historic places Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Golden Mountain Temple... Our room is spacious enough for 3 adults and the staffs are very helpful and nice. Old Capital Bike Inn
Khaosan,Khaosan - View on map
"My parents and I stayed for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. We knew it was boutique with good service. But quickly after arrival we learned just how special Old Capital Bike Inn is. After my 69 year old Dad had trouble with stairs in the honeymoon suite after one night, the staff, led by Jason, graciously and without hesitation made another (even nicer) room available at no cost. He, his aunt and other staff all treated us like INSTANT FAMILY and gave us insights about the neighborhood and Bangkok and where/how to go, even while giving us space to be on our own. Their BREAKFASTS were simply the best I've had - great variety and generous portions, quality and presentation beat the 5 star hotel buffets I enjoy with work travel. Finally, when my 68 year old Mom had an injury while biking, the staff offered fast FIRST AID and GENUINE CARE right away and throughout the next few days to ensure she had everything she needed. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH about this wonderful experience my parents and I had at Jason's Old Capital Bike Inn. We wish it were everywhere."

More about Khaosan

This is Bangkok’s most popular tourism district. It is home to two of the country’s biggest attractions as well as a lively hotel and entertainment district. When tourists head to Bangkok for pleasure rather than business, this is where they spend a good proportion of their time.

Khaosan Road is an important budget accommodation district the east bank of the Chao Phraya River. The number of budget hotels on Khaosan Road has made this one of the world’s leading backpacker destinations. The street is lined with cheap cafés, no-frills bars, trendy clubs and rows of merchants selling tee-shirts, knockoffs and souvenirs.

Staying in the Khaosan area means visitors have access to a variety of restaurants and an exciting nightlife, but it also puts them in the perfect position for sightseeing. South of Khaosan Road is the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, hallmarks of any visit to Thailand.

Wat Pho is further south along the river. Other sites in the area include Democracy Monument, the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall and Dusit Zoo. Wat Pho, the oldest temple in Bangkok that houses the largest indoor reclining Buddha is also in the area. All of these are easily reached by taxi or even on foot – an especially nice experience in the cool season.

Accommodation near Khaosan Road and the Grand Palace is close enough to the river to use ferries and canal boats as a means of transportation. The Chao Phraya River Express and the Chao Phraya Tourist Boat both stop by Tha Prachan and Phra Athit piers. Buses, taxis and canal ferries can be used for getting around the area.
