Kihaa Maldives Island Resort
South Male Atoll
A real slice of paradise”
The island is really beautiful. Looks like the dream mid-sized picturesque Maldivian island. Fantastic wide beaches all-around the island, real sand shores and no sand bags fortifications like on many other Maldivian islands. Lush vegetation. Great house reef teaming of sea life. The facilities are all great as well. The Lagoon Prestige villas are higly recommended, with direct access to the best beach and reserved sun beds and umbrella. The staff is very friendly, polite and attentive. The only con is the food selection and choice. The food itself is fresh and tasty but very limited variety. You expect much more to indulge yourself when dining in a Maldivian resort 4 or 5 stars. If Kihaa manages to improve the food in the future, we would return again with joy.

All inclusive food and service was not 5 star class. Very bad wi-fi. Beautiful dream location but there are a lot of other hotels to chose from. Will definitely go back to the Maldives but not to this resort.
By far a 4* not 5* in services ”
The management of the hotel is very bad ; we booked all inclusive and the dinks in minibar are cola & beer; breakfast is very poor , the fruits are not good and very few choices, no fresh juices and if you arrive 15 min before closing time they already take all ; between 14 and 19:30 you have no place to eat so it's full board not all inclusive ; the manager answered it's like this in their hotel and they will not change ; TV was not working, the sheets on the bed they change every 3 days, they never put towels in toilets to dry hands , they don't put soap in the bathroom , you need to always take the shower gel ; the only thing which are positive is the location ,villas right on the beach and the kindness of the waiters ,mainly Angela from the bar is perfect, we could feel she had different management training in Dubai
Perfect Place for little escape from normal life”
Nice Little Island Managed by nice People and their warmhearted staff. Very good Spa and Beach, superb room (Prestige Lagoon Villa), amazing full day snorkeling Adventure. All inclusive Plan is good, übt Can still be improved.
Great place to spend a sunny holday”
We stayed at Kihaa for two weeks (9-23 Nov 2017) all inclusive. We had a lovely stay. Our room 231 was very nice decor and close to the beach even though in second line. The beach is beautiful and also the resort surroundings. The drinks is super and friendly staff in the bar (they all love kids). I was a bit concerned about eating at the same buffet restaurant for two weeks, but it turned out that the food was really good. Especially the grill, pasta and soup was good. And the fresh fruit is superp. However the staff in the eating area could be a but more attentive and don't speek very good english. Had a massage which was very good. However the spa sorroundings could be a bit upgradet and more luxurious. There is a Kids Club with a very nice young woman that can take care of the children during the day for some hours and make some activities with them. We had a very nice stay at Kihaa and would recommend for others.
Stay in kihaad ”
Food was disappointing and overpriced. Simple food like bread did not taste like it at all. No variety for breakfast. I stayed for a week and we had the same kind of food everyday. Either change the chefs or train them all over again. Service was excellent overall, especially over dinner. Each night this particular waiter attended to us and took note of what we liked and disliked. His name is Hassan.... Well done Hassan. Thank you for everything. The resort is nice and we enjoyed every moment of it but sadly the food will make us think twice if we do visit Maldives again.
The dive staff, including their manager Antonio, were outstanding. Antonio has been diving this area for years and knows the sites well. Unfortunately, there isn't any scheduled diving on the house reef which looked like it was worthwhile. Ask with advance notice and this can be booked. The spa provided a great massage. Staff was friendly. Food was good with plenty of variety though true "foodies" might complain. Housekeeping sometimes neglected to replace products but did come quickly when I called reception. The room was huge and comfortable with a shaded pavilion on the beach that was perfect for relaxing.
Great location, but definitely not 5star hotel”
Stay was ok , had good fun with the kids but still too many things not well arranged to justify a 5 star rating. The bed was terrible, really, the food always the same (all inclusive) and not super fine or special. There was also a fly, problem which was terribly annoying during breakfast and lunch.
Great location and view but poor food”
The pros: Beautiful island (like most of Maldives). The resort was beautifully made with spacious and clean rooms. Good range of facilities including tennis courts, gym and sea sports. Resort is best for a relaxing getaway. The cons: Resort is over catered to Chinese tourist that there is almost nothing Maldivian about this place. About 80% tourist from China so most reception staff are from China and meal menu catered to them. Food is poor and overpriced. There is Chinese, Western and Japanese menu but not well made. Seafood we ordered was not fresh and the pasta selections were tasteless. To get to the resort you will have to top up US$400 pp for domestic flight transfer. As it is a small plane, would not recommend for those afraid to fly. Not a place to go if you are a diver as diving is overpriced. You will have to go for a test dive (US$100) even if certified. Most corals here are dead. Please refer to seasons if you would like to see manta rays. Whale share sightings are rare. Excursions are mediocre - didn't not see a single dolphin on dolphin trip (US$40). No submarine or at least glass bottom boats that can be found in other resorts in Maldives. Spa is just ok. Have had much better experience in other locations.
relatively well experience wiith Kihaad”
Kihaad is ran and managed by Italian group so expect quite significant % of resort staff and guests are from Italy which is a nice surprise. Good thing about the Resort: - Great Island with beautiful surroundings. Transportation is well arranged so not too much a hassle - Very competitive room rate compare to other 5 star resort in Maldives - Resort and villa is well designed but not quite at the top end of the expectation - Staff is ok with quite a variety of nationalities. They are pretty healful and attentive Improvement to be considered: - Free wifi but quite slow and unstable. Log in page is quite annoying everytime. - Villa maintenance can be better with broken curtains, doorknob, bit of this and that. - Shower water is very weak pressure so not exactly the best shower experience. But it saves water from environmental aspect. LOL - Food options can be improved
very nice stay somewhere near the paradise”
We spent 5 days in heaven. It is a very beautiful island. Room is perfect, better than I expected!! Very comfortable soft white bed, nice big bathroom. Service was perfect, staff - very kind and helpful. The island is pretty quiet, as far as we needed relaxing vacation - we`ve got it! Super nice beach, white sand, amazing blue sea! Food is tasty, good international cuisine, nice cocktails, and good wine. The only thing I wanted to mention about food is that there is allowed to smoke at the eating area. It was really not comfortable for us to enjoy breakfast because of smoking one by one cigarette at the next table. One more thing I`d like to say, it would be more comfortable to have a shower somewhere near to reception for those who checkout already (at 12am), but leaves the island on evening, thus they will have a chance to take a shower before the flight. Overall I would recommend this hotel to my friends! Our vacation was perfect and very relaxing!
Wonderfull Romantic Hotel”
It was an amazing staying I loved every thing about it .. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the food is delicious, the house keeping is very active and on call 24 hour, the rooms are clean the prices are reasonable, the beach is so clean.. its simply the best Resort in Maldives
KIHAA Island, Maldives”
Our villa was a reserve beach type, a 50 metre walk to the beach/sea. The villa was clean & massive inside for a couple with 2 good size wardrobes. Large comfy double bed & outside private toilet/shower bathroom was fun. We walked around the island in the mornings & afternoons (it is exactly 1 mile walking around the shore line). Beach/sand is simply stunning (as I guess it is on all Maldives islands). We opted 'all inclusive package' which covers most of the drinks from both bars & all your meals in the buffet Resturant. Food choices were OK, quality good but I warn you now there appears to be a supply issues when wanting to get your hands on a cold beer!! No problem with the supply of cold HOLSTEN 0% alcohol in cans, which I have to stated tasted fine in the heat & I actually enjoyed & felt good after a week drinking a good few, but the other option 'TIGER' in cans was 2 days with none on the island !?! Child friendly & would recommend :-)
Dear Oliver, I would like to thank you for giving your time to write a feedback with your recent stay. We sincerely appreciate your compliments. Bring a friend on your next visit, See you again soon! Regards, Julius Gabor (Mr.) - OTA Manager
It is perfect, but meal is not a good in various
Need to do better”
So many improvements are required to get Kihaa up to an acceptable standard. Food cold and unappetizing, lack of choice and of low quality. Some staff are good but many require significant basic customer service skills. All inclusive poor in comparison to other resorts in Maldives and reception staff quite happy to charge extra for any requests. It’s no wonder the resort was only 30 percent occupied at the time of our visit. New manager Peter has his work cut out but he should seek feedback from all guests either one on one or via feedback form on check-out (there currently isn’t one surprise, surprise)
Stunning location, beautiful room, attentive staff. Only a few things let this resort down.. Our last night at the resort we decided to have the 3 course dinner. While my husband enjoyed his entree, the main meal was way too salty & my seafood platter consisted of frozen seafood- the prawns were not fresh & put me off the rest of my meal. We were disappointed to be served such bad quality seafood in a place reknown for its seafood! Wifi in room was patchy. Be prepared for the 18% service taxes on everything.. Overall, we did enjoy our time at kiihaad, just the dinner was unsatisfactory.
Nice resort on a very nice island”
The resort is fine, most things work fine but maintenance is somewhat lacking (low water pressure, rooms somewhat past their repair date...). The island is very nice with beautiful soft coral sand, plenty of vegetation, nice variety of fish. The coral around the island is quite damaged by people trammelling it to pieces which the hotel does seem to do anything about. We were 'welcomed' by a rat on the outside bathroom but that was quickly dealt with.
a big dissapointment: very poor choice of food”
Positive things about this hotel:the location of Kihaad is great, nice sea life, very friendly and helpful staff. Negative things:very poor choice of meals, every morning the same breakfast with limited amount of food,we stayed in the room 213 and it was very noisy due to neighboring electric power supply
Nice views and quiet environment ”
Nice staff. Limited choices of food. Nice swimming pool but beach has some stones not always convenient for kids. Hotel clean and well maintained.
Great island but resort not up to 5 stars standard”
Free Wi-Fi in all rooms!
