Delicately designed, the Kimpton Hotel Allegro has been converted into a contemporary boutique hotel. Built in 1924, this classical structure features both elegantly designed Art Deco furniture and eclectic furnishings. The lobby particularly reflects a great influence from theater and the arts. The boutique hotel lies side by side with the Encore Lounge, Cadillac Palace Theater, and Magnificent Mile Shops. It is located at the very heart of a lively theater district and is very close to Chicago’s main city attractions. The hotel’s very own 312 Chicago café provides secret family recipes that have dictated contemporary Italian flavors for years. They randomly serve free wines to guests, compliments of the management.

Kimpton Hotel Allegro
Great location and facilities. A little noise from the other rooms. But great experience.
Great locale, good price. ”
Right in the heart of the theatre district and new the El hub made it easy to navigate the city for a quick over night. Restaurant in the hotel is quite good, no room service though. Everything you need. Rooms were on the same side and walls paper thin but we didn’t really mind. Staff was kind, knowledgeable and quick.
Receptionists need more training”
We were checked in by Michael (receptionist) & Kirby (the surpervisor). They need more training on how to handle themselves in front of customers as well as how to treat your customer. You DO NOT let your guests wait for almost 2 hours to check into all their rooms! All issues can be solved the next morning if you needed extra payment from Agoda then its your problem & Agoda not OURS! We were VERY ANGRY & DISAPPOINTED! I have booked through agoda hundreds of time something like this have never happened to us. Michael (the receptionist) told me that the Agoda credit card cannot be charged for 4 rooms. Agoda only authorised a certain amount to be charged and only enough for 2 rooms. So they let us check in to 2 rooms and we need to wait for the other 2. And so we waited and try calling Agoda (the girl who assisted us was helpful). Let say the amount I paid to Agoda was $1800 for all 4 rooms for 2 nights stay. But in their hotel system each room charged was $650 for 2 nights. That is why the amount authorized by Agoda was not enough. As they need $2600 in total. I told both of them I have worked in hotels before I know sometimes the reservation department can input the wrong amount for the room rates. Especially if the guests booked through third party usually they get special rates (that is what third party websites are for! People get special rates than hotel website!) they insisted that they need payments in advanced from agoda! I told them to get the $1800 as the preauth for all rooms and they can resolve the issue tom morning with their reservation department. Because i have paid everything to agoda and not going to pay any more extras. They finally gave me the other 2 room keys after I SNAPPED! Michael told us. We are the first agoda customer they ever get. So what if we are the first? If you are not aware / have experience then dont stand behind the desk.
Very good price and convenient Hotel ”
Very clean and tidy room, but the coffee machine inside the room, they don't provide directly, if you need it, need ask front desk to provide for you.
Thanks for the great review and we look forward to seeing you again in the future! Amber Bertsch Guest Experience Manager
Big hotel and very loud ”
Excellent hotel in great location”
Lovely hotel with great lobby, good rooms &locatio”
We had a great stay at the Allegro and very much appreciated the lobby for working, the winetasting in the afternoon and the bar Encore.
Elegant and friendly Hotel”
the lobby is at the first floor and is very elegant, though it is a bit inconvenient. the room is clean but no view at all. it is a bit small but comfortable, toilet seems just fit for asian like me. the bar at g/f is good and not expensive. need to get coffee at lobby is ok but not so good in the early morning. overall is a good stay.
Love the Kimpton brand”
The Kimpton hotels are a boutique brand and the serve their niche very well. While our stay was pleasant and the staff was wonderful, I prefer the Allegro's brother hotel - The Hotel Burnham. However, would I stay at the Allegro again for the price we paid - definitely!
Allegro Chicago Hotel”
Everyone who worked at the hotel were very nice, and we willing to help us find where we wanted to go. We enjoyed the wine hour, you don't find many of them for such a low price. The location made it very easy to walk where we wanted to go. The parking ended up being over half of what we paid for the hotel.
Great Girls Weekend”
We enjoyed the Allegro. We were able to walk to most of the places we wanted to see. The concierge was friendly and had good suggestions as far as transportation and dinner reservations was concerned. We were happy to hear about the wine reception in the lobby area. My friends and I would certainly stay there again.
I had a pleasant time at the Allegro Hotel. I stayed 4 nights. I couldn't understand why we only received 2 breakfast tickets per night, when we paid for 3 adults. The Hotel was very clean all the time. All the staff were very nice whenever we engaged. i loved the location. i would have to say that over all, i had a great time(because of the stay i had with you!
Downtown Chicago Visit”
This hotel was perfect location for our Chicago visit. The rate was reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. I was able to save $50 on two nights parking by self parking in the structure directly across the street. Overall the Room was very nice, but small. The lobby and restaurant was also nice.
[Review] Allegro Chicago, a Kimpton hotel ”
I enjoyed Simple (coffee, juice, bread, fruit) breakfast from hotel. because I didn't expect it. Fitness is not so big, but it open for 24 hours. When you cannot sleep go for running! It is located near to Metro station, pharmarcy, and 7 eleven. Actually the window doesn't open, but air conditioner is working well.
This was my second stay at the Allegro - and will likely be back again next time have to be downtown. Staff is good and helpful and despite the cons - location is everything in Chicago - and you will be hard to beat the price for where you are at.
Intéressant et agréable ”
