Just Lovely!!
First: it's a 35min hike from the park entrance with some steep hills. Not super fun with a backpack, but manageable. Also, there is no Wi-Fi or phone service. We didn't know this before. Still, this place is a gem and I loved it. The lodge is cozy and the dorms were nice. The shared bathrooms are behind the building, but they are huge and clean. Great views from the porch- a great place to read or play cards and enjoy the peace. Good food at reasonable prices. Would stay again.

Location
Location a bit far from the main road. But once you arrive at the place, it's a wow!

Nice place with great views
Nicely positioned and cruisy small place. Appeared to be run by three quite young girls. Could probably do with more food options given where it is. The place is entirely wooden floors so can be noisy depending on how 'considerate' your fellow guests are later in the night. Sign advertises trails but there aren't any.

Amazing views!
This place is perfect for those coming to trek in Kinabalu Park. It is a 10 minute walk from the road but not too bad. The dorm was clean and cosy, and the beds were comfortable. A lovely place to wake up and enjoy the view.

Great place for hikers!
The dorm was clean, comfortable and you got some privacy because of the wooden divides and curtains. The food was tasty (vegetarian), and the view is just stunning! It is a 10 min walk from the road but chances are you're here to hike anyway and it's definitely worth the walk.

Bad location
It is hidden far away from the main road, and the road leading into the lodge need some climbing and walk about 2km and get worst if it rains. Hence, if you have big luggage, you need to get a taxi. And not all taxi are willing to go in. Those taxi that are willing to drive in charged RM20

Fantastic spot with a view in the mountains
I can definitely recommend the Kinabalu Mountain Lodge! The view is spectacular and it is a perfect place to unwind after a day of hiking or after climbing the mountain. There is not so much to do, which makes it perfect for sitting, relaxing, reading and chatting with the other travellers. The dorm has individual pots, so you will have your own space and will not be bothered by other guests (e.g. when switching the bedlight on/off)
