Good location for a good price”
near jingsaw park, forbidden city and temple of heaven
At first, the hotel is a little bit difficult to find because it was located at a very silent and dark place. But it is safe even at night and even it's like ghost town because there's no other people passing by at around 7pm. The advantage of staying here is no worries when you find some of the tourist spots because it's very near, like you can walk from the hotel going to forbidden city, jingsaw park and temple of heaven.

Great Location and service”
Near to Parks and Forbidden City
Nice and clean room. The reception counter has someone who can speak English. Not easy for the taxi driver to find. The hotel name in Mandarine is "Hua Yu Jiu Tien" and the road infront is "Sha Than Hou Jie". Utter these words to the taxi driver to help find the hotel. There are a few good restaurants outside the hotel. Also there some fruits vendors(on carts) selling fruits at cheap prices in the morning. In spring one can find cheap peaches, nectarines and cherries.

Nice Hotel near North Gate of Forbidden City”
Close to city, Comfortable, Good Value
Though a little hard to find, hotel is actually conventiently located just 3 bus stops away from subway station Dong Si and is just a few bus stops from Tian An Men Square. Hotel is only a short walk from Xuan Wu Men or North Gate (exit gate) of the Forbidden City. Do note that visitation to the Forbidden City is currently uni-directional i.e. you could only enter from the the main entrance at South Gate at Tian An Men Square and exit from the North Gate. The hotel is located in the middle of a small road. Getting out of the hotel turning right is a small decent road which is the direction of access to the North Gate of Forbidden City. Getting out turning right however, is an alley "Hu Tong" which is lined with small shops which one would not imagine could lead to a decent multi-story hotel housed within a compound although at the beginning of the road is several signage in Chinese showing there are several hotel/motel down the road. So don't be surprise if you first hit this alley when you try to find the hotel. Trully worth noting is, housed within the compound facing the entrance gate of the hotel is the building which was once the resort home of Princess He Jia, the fourth daughter of Emperor Qian Long. In 1898, this building was converted to an educational instituion which is the predecessor of the current Peking University. It was once the tallest educational building in China. Hotel is also just next to Jing Shan Park. Wang Fu Jing and the Prince Gong Mansion (Gong Wang Fu) aren't too far to access too, although transport maybe necessary.

Location
The hotel is located in a beijing Hutong, very close to the Forbidden city and temple of heaven. It is very basic, clean and safe. If you will be spending most of your day outdoors then the simplicity and convenience of this hotel should appeal.

Truly Awful ”
We stayed here prior to joining a tour and as this was the joining point hotel it seemed a good idea. How wrong we were. Staff were unhelpful on numerous occasions and at times were outright rude. Requests for extra bedding were met with a firm “none left” at the desk yet the open linen room had dozens. Our room carpet was wet enough to soak through your sox and we were told they had been cleaned. The shower leaked water over the bathroom floor and our companions had a running toilet all night. Asking for taxis was met with a point to the road and the the hotel’s best feature - it’s roof top balcony, was locked and inaccessible. I can find no reason, other than location, to stay here. Very disappointing

Took a bit of a tussle even with the baidu map to reach this place, but once you find it, you'll figure directions easily - great location close by Jingshan Park (literally 200m away), the forbidden palace and other closeby attractions. Location is not short of eateries and supermarkets, and is accessible with buses and a 15 minute walk to 2 different subway stations. Although customer service wasn't eloquent in English, they tried their best and was very helpful at check-in and when we had questions about directions and getting to the railway station. Room was pleasant and wifi works well too - nice place for a quick rest for a day of exploring. I'd definitely recommend staying here and would book another stay if I visit beijing again.

It’s good but I couldn’t find this hotel easily. When I started from international airport I transferred subway to Dongsi and walking 20mins . It wasn’t easy to find the building but in the morning when I checked out the hotel i was happy because it’s close hotel from the palace so I enjoyed tour.

The location might need an extra effort to find it as we can't speak mandarin, thank God for a taxi. By the end of the street, there's a restaurant that served moslem foods. The staff is super helpful, and their restaurant when we had a breakfast is great. Worth every penny.

Good location. Good value. Quiet neighborhood. ”
It's the old Beijing university campus building, quite interesting place. Very near to the park that oversees Gu Gong. Cleanliness is reasonable for hostel. Staff service is very Beijing style - loud and rude, but atleast they were helpful when needed. I guess it is just the culture that they don't greet nor smile nor talk to you nicely. Overall good stay, location is central and away from the busy streets. Quite comfortable and quiet.

Customer service can improve but great location & good value for money”
Cleaning staff was great and kept the rooms clean when requested. Front desk staff however not the most helpful. Do not feel they wish to be there and want to assist the guests. Although the hotel is centrally located, going from on place to another around Beijing can still be a long walk. The hotel should prepare some guides of how to catch the local bus and metro to the most popular touristy spots such as Wanfujing St, Forbidden City etc.

Room was not clean, Internet basically doesn't work, Drinking water not provided”
To begin with, even though the area in which the hotel is situated is good, it is difficult to find the hotel by yourself. The view from the hotel is not really of a park, but actually of a parking. The room was not clean, it appeared as if that they didn't vacuum the floor before providing the room. As of the internet, I had to ask for the wifi access, and then I could barely connect to the internet. I asked several times to fix it or improve the speed or something, they didn't or couldn't do anything. Had to activate international roaming on my phone to access internet, couldn't even use whatsapp literally. And finally they didn't even provide drinking water. The water in bathroom was so bad, my fingers started feeling thorny. Staff was helpful to some extent, had a couple of English speaking staff to help with your queries. Book only if you want a roof on your head, if you want to have a comfortable stay, you should look for somewhere else.

Unfriendly staff, inaccessible area”
1. Hotel is far from Tianamen square. It is near the EXIT of forbidden city. To go to the entrance, you need to walk for 30minutes. 2. Nearest subway station is a 25 minute "fast" walk (Nanloguxiang). 3. You need to take a bus (bus#109) if you want to save time going back and forth the hotel and subway station. Bus station is a 5 minute walk to the hotel. 4. Hotel does not offer complimentary water at all. When we asked if they sell water, we were told to buy at the convenience store. 5. The staff are very unhelpful. They won't even assist on carrying your baggage even if they see you are carrying a lot. 5. Staff barely understands and speaks English. 6. This is not the area you would choose to be if you are going to Beijing for a tour. Travelling to the hotel is time-consuming.

In a very bad location for a tourist”
Room, Tourist Service, Price
The location of the hotel looks very good on the map but is awfull in reality. The metro stations are at least a 20 minutes walk away, the entry to the forbidden city is located on the other side and effectivly not in walking distance. The streets around the hotel are very busy most of the day, so even taking a taxi will just get you stuck in traffic. The only upside is the Jingshan park nearby, which is very good for realaxing and get a fantastic view over the forbidden city. The room itself was pretty ok and you can't ask for much more at that price. Only downside was the wifi connection, which only worked in the lobby. The rooftop terasse was closed most of the time, breakfast took place there, thouh. Staff was friendly enough but struggled with English conversations. A morning wakeup call was installed by default on weekdays at 8 am, better ask to turn it off beforehand.
