If you’re desperate and need a bed”
Mad Monkey’s Bayswater is an interesting establishment. The guests were all quiet and respectful. The staff were nice. It was definitely very affordable however that came at the cost of a comfortable and desirable experience. The overall cleanliness was not great. Common spaces were kept clean by guests, but everything lacked an overall hygienic thorough deep clean which is well overdue. There’s a serious mould issue in the main bathroom. The rooftop balcony is run down. The mattresses were very uncomfortable unless you like the feeling of spirings. The proximity to the cross city tunnel entrance and the need to keep windows open due to the lack of A/C meant it was quite noisy. The hostel is in dire need of a comprehensive refurbishment. It’s important that affordable quality accommodation options remain in Sydney, particularly for those who are new/visiting Sydney or Australia. However there comes a point where an establishment crosses the mark in providing accommodation that’s liveable.

Unplanned Quick Trip”
I would like to say thank you to all the staff of Kings Cross Backpackers, they were really very nice and helpful. The security of the place was okay especially for a solo female Asian traveller like me. The only thing was not really good for me was the toilet. There was a gap in each toilet door so it was very awkward to use it especially when you are taking your shower. Not to mention that it was a COED toilet which means boys and girls can access it anytime they want. Hopefully, they will have an exclusive room for females someday.

Friendly and helpful service. There were quite a few that seemed to have stayed there for a while already.A strong family atmosphere. It was also safe despite being in kings cross, as there were passwords and keys to every door to your bed. I would definitely go there again if im visiting sydney.

Friendly, fun hostel”
I enjoyed my stay here, it was a good mix of party and socialising but not being woken every night at 3am! There’s quite a few long term people staying which make the rooms quite cramped and makes it quieter in the week but there’s still lots of events going on. Everyone there was friendly. The rooms only have fans so got very hot but the showers were good and the place is fairly clean. All in all a good value stay with the chance to meet nice people.

Location was great, only a short train from the CBD with loads of shops and cafes in walking distance. Hostel was really clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Really good atmosphere for both chill evenings and a night out. Would definitely stay here again!!!

This hostel is a good place to socialize : Every evening the staff arrange for the guests special diner and party with cheap diner & drinks and activities in the bars and restaurants near by the hostel. You can easily go to different areas in the city thanks to the subway station very close to the hostel.

Pros - A block away from King Cross Metro station. - Cheap price - Good security (Password system, CCTV) Cons - 2nd Floor female bathrooms & restrooms are currently unavailable. - Bed and Pillow sheets are provided, except blankets. - AUS electric adapter isn't provided. - Cleanliness isn't really good. (ventilation)

Auberge jeunesse Conviviale, Propre et bien situé”
Auberge située à 10 minutes à pieds de la City, dans le quartier animé de Kings Cross, mais à l'écart des rues bruyantes. Les jeunes à l'accueil sont sympas et serviables. L'auberge est dans un bon état. Le petit déjeuner est gratuit. Pour moi le seul point négatif, c'est la petite taille des chambres !!!

4人の共同部屋は綺麗だったが、シャワールームは最悪。 着替える場所がないので、同性には素っ裸が見られます。シャワーとそれ以外の場所に仕切りがないので、履き物や着替え・タオルなどはビニール袋に入れて置かないとビショビショに。掃除をしている様子もなく、とても不衛生です。 簡単な朝ご飯が付いていますが、8時～なので朝早くにホテルを出発したい場合には利用できません。チェックアウトの時間も8～10時と短いため、もっと早く出たい場合は事前にアーリーチェックアウトの手続き(前日の21時頃が締め切り)が必要。 毎日夜遅くまでゲーム，パーティーをやっているようなので、そのような雰囲気が好きで混ざれる人は楽しいかも。 私が宿泊した際は1泊5000円したので、同じ値段でもっといいところに留まれたと思いました。

朝ごはんはパンとマーガリン、ピーナツバターのみだが無料。毎日イベントをやっており、夜ご飯などを食べさせてもらえる。冷蔵庫は共同だが大きな物がある。他の宿泊者は、基本的に1年ぐらいの宿泊予定をしている人が多かった。シャワーは脱衣所や荷物置き場がないので着替えにくい。

좀 급하게 한다고 빨리 예약해서 비쌌어요ㅜㅜ 그래도 관리가 잘 되고있는것 같고 화장실, 샤워실이 충분히 있어용 킹스크로스 자체가 좀 시끄러워서 잠귀가 밝으시다면 비추! 그리고 여기 한국인이 없어서 외국인 친구 사귀기엔 좋을듯용. ,ㅎㅎ

바퀴벌레나오는 객실 그러나 친근한 사람들”
저렴한 가격에 걸맞는 호스텔이었어요. 진짜 기어다니는 바퀴벌레를 봤어요;;계단밖에 없고, 아침은 빵,쨈,버터, 땅콩버터, 후레이크, 우유가 나왔구요. 옥상에는 가보지 못했어요. 그러나 사람들이 매우 친근하고, 또 친절했어요. 또한 와이파이가 공짜!!! 게다가 잘 터지는 편이었구요. 숙소에 갈때마다 번화가를 지나가게 되는데 주말에는 클럽가는 사람들이 정말 많더군요. 하이드 파크나 보타닉파크로 가기도 편했는데...뒤늦게 알아서 샛길로 못가본게 좀 아쉬워요.
