Best location for theatre break in London”
Just back from a great stay at the Kingsway Hall Hotel. It is only 5 minutes from Holborn underground and about 8 minutes from Covent Garden underground. Lovely friendly staff, clean and modern hotel, easy walk to Covent Garden. This is the best hotel we have stayed in for a theatre break and not just for the location, although the fact that it is close to Euston Station (£10 taxi fare) and the undergrounds as well as the theatre district makes it pretty much perfect. We were there to celebrate our daughter's 21st and when I mentioned this to the staff in conversation there was a lovely little plate of birthday cakes in her bedroom when we returned later on. We had 2 upgraded rooms and they were well worth it. Lovely large rooms on the 6th floor looking out onto the front of the hotel. Really comfortable bed and good air con meant we slept well even during the recent heatwave. The bathroom was lovely, modern and clean with a heated towel rail so the towels were always warm, Molton Brown toiletries and a hairdryer in the bathroom. I took my own hairdryer and glad I did as the hotel ones are never quite powerful enough but fine if you have short hair. All in all we loved our stay- so much so that without hesitation we will return to this hotel for our next stay in London. Can't be beaten for location no matter where in London we will be visiting and the staff were so friendly. Fantastic hotel!
great location and staff”
Stayed for nearly a week and love the location close to everything including the underground and several local grocery stores. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was average size, very clean in the room and bathroom, small, wifi is free and good signal on 4th floor. We got a room was very quite from the street noise. Several restaurants and coffee shops locate within walking distant. Covent Garden market is about 7 minutes walk at leisure pace and Holbron underground about 5 min. Overall we had a great experience staying at the Kingsway Hall Hotel.
The staff make it an excellent choice.”
The hotel is lovely, even though the rooms were not particularly big, they were adequate for a long weekend in London. There were big wardrobes with an iron & board, and an in room safe and mini bar. Like most London hotels, the prices for drinks and snacks was ridiculous, but as you have bars and restaurants on the doorstep, there's rarely a need to spend the sky high prices here. The staff made the stay extra special. Every one that I spoke to, for whatever reason, was helpful, professional but friendly. I always felt at ease, which is not always the case with 'posh' hotels. The room and bathroom were always cleaned very well. The bed was a little firm for my liking, but others in my party were very comfortable. I would have liked feather pillows, but again, that's just a personal preference. I have marked the 'facilities' down due to the price of the drinks in the bar, and the disappointing amount of choices on the set menu in the restaurant. There was nothing on the menu that appealed to everyone in my party, so I can't comment on the quality of the food, as we didn't eat there. Strada, an Italian restaurant across the road was lovely. Ask for a higher floor to avoid the noise of London and the pubs in the street. We were on the 7th floor, and not disturbed at all by anything. There is in-room air conditioning, so no need to keep the windows open all night for air. I'd definitely stay here again. It's within easy walking distance to Covent Garden and even Piccadilly Circus and Soho. We also walked to different theatres every night, and there are loads in the vicinity.
The location cannot be beat. Within walking distance of Covent Garden, West End theatre, National theatre, Somerset House and National Galleries, and great shopping. Staff is outstanding. Staff members went out of their way to assist me. My room was a little small, furniture is getting a little old, but the room was clean and well-laid out and more than adequate for my needs. No shower stalls, but I understand the hotel is planning major renovations soon, and shower stalls will be included. I've stayed at Kingsway twice, and most likely will stay there again on my next trip to London.
Impeccable all the way around”
This hotel is a real find in central London. I searched for just the right hotel and came across the Kingsway after several weeks. For the location and the price, this is a real find. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.
Comfort and access to all you need”
A two night stay at Kingsway Hall was ideal for our needs, very comfortable rooms and helpful staff. The location is excellent, easy walking distance to Convent Garden, Trafalgar and the South Bank aren't much further, plus tubes are close by. We never sampled the hotel's eating and drinking options as the place is surrounded by good restaurants and bars. The rate is quite expensive but reasonable value compared with other London hotels and the location is hard to fault. Only downsides are the lack of free internet and minimal free TV channels, but this is fairly standard in UK accommodations, and anyway who goes to London to watch TV?
This is a classy hotel in a perfect position”
We enjoyed our stay at Kingsway Hall immensely. The staff were very professional and friendly and the Hotel is all class. The position in Covent Garden is perfect for sightseeing. Would stay again.
Stayed in Kingsway for a short trip. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Rooms were clean and cozy. Literally, inches away from theater, food and tube station. Will definately come back here if I need to stsy in London. :)
good hotel excellent service can do enough”
very good hotel in excellent location just off the kingsway did have the feel of a buinsness hotel so not sure if it would appeal to familys however i did stay during week good buisness centre with free internet goog sized bedrooms although one of the only negatives was breakfast whilst i had not booked breakfast the cost of just a continenantel was extortianet
Great location with service and style to match”
A good standard of room for central London at the price offered by Agoda. Large and modern frontage of hotel was unexpected in the location and impressed our companions. Easy to get to by tube, taxi or on foot. We walked from Euston to the hotel and also back from china town in the evening. Recommended.
Kingsway was excellent as is always”
Our stay was as pleasant as our first visit six years ago and I would recommend the Kingsway to anyone and I challenge anyone who would think anything different; its well placed for theatre land along with ease of access to the West End and tourist attractions.
Very good hotel with excellent location”
We found this to be a very good hotel with an excellent location. Easy to walk down to Covent Garden, Soho and everything my wife loves about London. My wife goes to London about every year and likes to stay at new hotels, but she is really positive about returning here in the future. The only minor thing was that the beds are not that long, and neither are we!
Location couldn't be beat. Staff was excellent. The room was nice and quite sizable by the standards of London hotels (I've stayed in plenty of closets for much higher prices). I very much enjoyed my week's stay.
Amazing hotel with the most efficient staff”
Fantastic location that is a mere 5 minute walk away from Covent Garden/British Museum/Waitrose/M&S, 10 minutes walk from Chinatown, 20 minutes walk from Regent Street. Even if you wish to take the tube, it is just a stone's throw away from Holborn Station! Delicious scones for the high tea (do not be shy to ask for more because you will regret it), a very generous range of Molton Brown toiletries. The housekeeping was impeccable, the concierge were adequately helpful, the restaurant's staff were great at what they do, and of course, Jamie and the doormen were always a delight to meet at all times of the day! The hotel is highly accessible to the various takeaway eateries, and you never have to worry about your safety when you walk back to the hotel at night. Swing by Penhaligon's if you feel like splurging on some nice parfums, or even have some fish and chips from Rock and Sole. I will certainly be returning to this hotel but with a prepaid data card because for a hotel of this price, you would expect some complimentary in-room wifi at the very least.
Very nice and convenient”
It is a pleasure to stay in this hotel. The location is excellent. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Room are clean and tidy. Value for money. Definitely we will stay again if we come to London. Just several minutes walk from Covent Garden station and it is very near to Holborn station to too.
Brought my friend and daughter to London for their first trip the hotel was in s great location, gorgeous room and staff so polite and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Only very slight thing was there was 3 of us but on 2 cups, etc and no extra pillows. But certainly didn't spoil it loved it
Great Hotel in perfect location”
Had a great stay - staff were helpful, happy, and very courteous. Room upgrade was excellent for a fair additional rate - like a junior suite. Really nice room with all you could need and well laid out - not the usual squeeze of London hotels. Excellent.
Hotel was in the perfect location just walking distance from The Royal Opera House and Covent Garden. All the staff were extremely courteous and helpful and the provision of a sturdy large umbrella in the room was gratefully used when we walked to the opera house in pouring rain. We will most definitely use this hotel again especially if we can get a good deal through Agado.
Good Locationand great service”
The hotel is located well for covent garden and freemasons hall Although the price from Agoda was good it didn't include breakfast and after this was added we paid the same as the other couple we were with that booked direct. The hotel adds a service charge to any and all transactions of 15% which I dont agree with, but overall the stay was pleasent
This hotel was perfect for us. We went to London for shopping and a bit of sightseeing. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
