The hidden hotel”
We had a great time at Kingtown Riverside Hotel Plaza Shanghai. We took the suite room, and it was really nice even if the room is not that big.Again the couches are really elegant.It's one of a kind room set up.Have to see for yourself.Overlooking is the Raddison Hotel.We liked also the paintings on the wall located at the hall way and guests waiting area.The lobby is spacious and everyone is really accomodating. Kingtown Riverside Hotel is recommendable.

Value for money, close to major attracktions”
The hotel is only 5-10 minutes walk away from the People’s Square, East Nanjing Rd Pedestrian Street and The Bund, and only steps away from Shanghai Museum, Grand Theater and Concert Hall. 5 minutes walk to Xinzha Rd Metro Station on Line 1, and 10 minutes walk to People’s Square Metro Station on Line 1, 2 and 8. Room is not big, but comfortable and clean. Staff cannot speak English very well, but very hospitality.

I moved from the Marriott City Center to Kingtown Riverside Hotel and was given an upgraded room for a lot less than they quoted me when I walked in. They let me use middle of the large bath.

Good location with helpful staff and nice room”
We enjoyed our stay at Kingtown on our first visit to Shanghai. We arrived after visiting 3 other major Chinese cities and was struck by it's cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff. The hotel is away from the main road which gave provided some respite from the traffic. The room was a good size with a sort of open plan and a huge tub. A leak that sprung from the tub was promptly attended to and fixed. The queen bed, pillows and sheets were clean and comfy. The carpet was much cleaner than the other hotels we had stayed in and there was no scent of residual smoke. All in, I will stay again if they keep this up.

most of hotel staffs cannot speak english. many facilities are out of order like tv, refrigerator and air condition, need to complain to fix them all. however hotel is a good location near metro, but most of taxi do not know the hotel. the room size is quite small. anyway if you want to select the hotel which located in the good area, safety and reasonable price. kingtown riverside should be a one of your choice.

This hotel is very close to 3 metro station(People's square,Xinzha road&Qufu road) is very convenience to travel around shanghai city. Hotel room is big and clean with separate shower room, bath tub and toilet. Hotel room provide toothpaste,toothbrush,shampoo,body wash,hand wash,hair dryer,shower cap,cotton bud,facial cotton&etc. Staff is helpful but a few staff attitude not good.

Good hotel but a bit in a boring area.”
It was our first time in Shanghai and we chose to stay here because we thought it is more or less in the center and close to the bund, but it came out that this is a bit far out of the center so we have a bit of problem finding restaurants and shops. But the hotel is also very close to the metro station line 1 about 5 minutes walk so we took the metro to eat and shop at People's square insteads. The room in general was big and clean, but we had a problem the first night that the airco didn't work properly and we couldn't sleep because of the heat, but the hotel staff changed us the room right away. Then in the second room we had the problem that the toilet couldn't be flushed but they also sent a staff to come and fixed it right away. All the staffs are very friendly even they don't speak much English.

amazing time with Kingtown Hotel”
we went to shanghai for the easter weekend, we chose this hotel firstly because it's cheap, secondly its relatively new (opened in sept 2010), thirdly its located at the very heart of shanghai city. so i think it has all you want for a weekend getaway, although there is no view from the hotel, and we havnt had any food there. we enjoyed every bit of shanghai, and recommend this hotel to those who want to spend their money in alternative way, such as wine and dine, spa and night life. hope it helps.

The hotel located center of city, just 5 mimutes walk to Xinzha road station, easy to go to People's square and Nanjing road. It is the best hotel for shopping and sight-seeing to Shanghai museum, the bund, Huang Pu river, New world city shopping mall, etc. It is clean and value for money, Wi-fi free available in room without password require, no parking area, small breakfast area. Even the room is not big but very convinient. Staff not good at English, but very freindly. There are many mini-marts around.

Great hotel”
The room was clean with large bathroom and fully equipped with all necessary need. The hotel also provided free wireless Internet connection and some English cable channels. The staffs were service-minded and helpful. Most staffs can communicate and understand English quite well. The hotel located close to a subway with only a couple of minutes of walk. Nearby the hotel, there are a couple of restaurants and mini-marts. Overall it was a great stay and I would definitely go back there again if I visit Shanghai. However, it is easier to miss the hotel when you firstly arrive since the hotel name is not completely the same as stated in Agoda.

this hotel is conveniently placed to allow for easy walking to the nanjing road sopping area & peoples square where you can find the shanghai urban exhibition planning hall & the shanghai museum. also located near a metro/subway line which is extremely user friendly and the most cost effective way to travel around shanghai. 2y to 3y for journeys of short distance that would possibly cost in excess of 20y in a taxi. i would stay here again.

The room is big, spacious, clean, with all accessories you would need, nice view if you choose river view room, lobby is clean with a cafe where you can relax the location is excellent, just 3-5minus walk from subway, and it is just a stop from then central station (Renmin plaza)only a short distance to nanjing road east as well as xintiandi The price is surprisingly cheap too the only bad thing is the TV channels, not much choices if you prefer staying in the hotel for a long night

This hotel is much nicer than we expected in the picture. We love the see through glass window bathroom. It is perfect hotel for couple or honeymooners at affordable price. It is very near to the subway station with many nice and affordable restaurant nearby. Location is close to the famous Nanjing street and the bund. I would return to this hotel.

The stay was pleasant with check in and out being very efficient. I select hotels with proximity to metros these days and Kingtown is just about 2 mins from the XinZha road station, check on the map for the exit. (I think its 2) Room is clean and comfortable.

kingtown riverside hotel is well located and it is very close to east nanjing road shopping area and people's park. it is in a quiter area of a busy city and one can have a good night sleep after a day of busy shopping and touring spree. the hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. some taxi drivers do not know exactly the hotel location as its main entrance is on a side street.
