A great little hotel with awesome staff”
We had a great stay at Kinh Bac Hotel! The hotel is brand-new and it shows: everything is crisp and clean, and in my opinion this adds a lot to the appearance and feel of guest accommodations. Our rooms were spacious and well-equipped with minibar, closet, chairs, and outlets on both sides of the bed. Rooms have the typical Vietnamese wet bathroom, but you get used to it. Bed is hard, as other reviewers have noted, but we personally slept well on the firm foam. Rooms have large windows and so receive a lot of natural light, and the air conditioning worked, though not terribly powerfully. Wifi works well. Showers were cool/cold, but as it was so hot outside this wasn’t an issue for us. Breakfasts were simple (bowls of noodles) but free, so more than adequate. The hotel staff is eager to please, and the manager provides exceptional service. We rented motorbikes one day and this is definitely the way to go if you want to explore the entire island. For $10 + ~$5 gas, we rode literally all day and found ourselves in places that we probably shouldn't have been, and much fun was had by all. This brings me to the only negative: its location. Situated only 5km from the famous Bai Sao, it appears on the map to be conveniently located for beach trips. In reality though this is too far to walk, and a taxi will run you about $3.50 each way. In the immediate area, options for dining are scarce: one other resort is across the street, but its restaurant was closed when we tried it. We ended up eating back at the Kinh Bac restaurant that night, which was surprisingly good and at comparable prices to other hotel restaurants and restaurants on the island, but if you like variety in your culinary habits you won’t find it in the immediate area. In summary, this is a great place if you plan to rent motorbikes or hire a car to explore the island, and it might be a little disappointing (though of no fault of the hotel) if you plan to just hang around the immediate area.

Best of the Best”
First off, I discovered this hotel by accident. I'm a very experienced international traveler from the US for more then 20 years. I have been traveled as far South of the equator as New Zealand / Australia & as far North as Norway / Iceland. As a result, I have opportunities to experience wide range of accommodations. My fiance and I stayed at The Kinh Bac Hotel, Phu Quoc island - a brand new hotel just opened less then a month at the time we stayed there - for a total of 3 nites. We were greeted and treated with the up most friendliness as if we were a very valuable friend of the hotel staff members. The home made, complimentary breakfasts were very authentic and delicious. A 5km concrete, winding road up to the mountain and the beautiful brand new Pagoda. This road is right next to the hotel is another reason for the travelers to select this hotel to discover the unparallelled sunrise view from the higher level pagoda looking down or from the lower level on the serene beach. We have our own scooter to experience many unique landmarks Phu Quoc Island has to offer. One thing worth notice is that the road back from the hotel from downtown Duong Dong is very safe at night although the road has no street lights and look like very empty. Overall, we are highly recommended this hotel all travelers and hurry up to stay at this hotel to experience very few other travelers has.

Excellent for stay to visit Sao Beach”
The airport is closest to Sao Beach, the most beautiful beach on the island, compared to all the hotels at Long Beach and further north. So it is a good idea to make Sao Beach the 1st destination on Phu Quoc. The best developed "hotel" on Sao Beach is My Lan, however the conditions there make its hotel rate ridiculous. Not totally My Lan's fault, this corner of the island is simply too secluded. Kinh Bac is very well-placed on the main road to Sao Beach, 4 km away. Spend 2 nights there, then head north for Long Beach hotels and beyond. Then pay for a long distance trip from your final location back to the airport. To adequately have the peaceful Phu Quoc feeling soak in you, 4 nights is min, preferably 7 days. Have fun!

Incredible service and value on beautiful Phu Quoc”
I cannot say enough good things about the Kinh Bac Hotel and its amazing host Pat and his family. From the welcome email, to the in-person welcome upon arrival, to the many ways Pat made sure I was taken care of, I felt like I was an honored member of his family. This is not hyperbole. And, as if the great personal service wasn't enough, the rooms in this new hotel are spotless, with much detail given to ensuring comfort. I got a room with balcony (room 103), which was roomy and had a pleasant view if the surrounding area, and included A/C, mini fridge stocked with reasonably priced beverages, TV with several channels including English, and good sized private bathroom. Our host Pat arranged rental scooters for my friend and me, as well as gave us several suggestions for places to see. Although the hotel is not directly on the beach (and thus much less expensive), beautiful Bai Sao beach is just 2km away, as are several others if you're willing to get out and explore (Gành Đầu Beach on the northwest coast was one of my favorites). Although the hotel is not in the city, there is a small market next door and restaurants in the hotel itself and across the street, as well as a karaoke bar a few meters down the road. About the only negative I can think of was that the electricity to the in-room fridge turns off when you take your key to leave the room, but this was very minor in my opinion. All of the amenities and great service came at a ridiculously low price. I can't wait to return to Phú Quốc, and when I do I'm definitely staying at the Kinh Bắc Hotel again.

Brand new hotel with amazing staff”
Kinh bac is brand new and only been open a few weeks, therefore the rooms are of a very good standard. The staff were fantastic and made us feel so welcome from the minute we arrived to the minute we left, they literally couldn't do enough for us which was amazing. We had dinner with the manager and his girlfriend one evening, fresh seafood caught that day which was a real treat and lovely to exchange stories and hear how the manager came about with his new job, you'll have to ask him to find out :) The Hotel is 5 mins on a scooter to the best beach on the island and only 20mins on the scooter to the main town, we preferred this location. The breakfast was great and wifi very good. Thank so much for a lovely stay on Phu Quoc island :) Lawrence&Jade

Best place I have stayed in eons!!!!”
Thoroughly enjoyable stay, Vu and his team were great. Genuinely friendly and helpful yet always discretion personified. I can't recommend them and their establishment enough. Also Vu patched me up after I took a spill off the scooter I had rented (smooth concrete, sand and a sudden splash of water from someone washing their pick-up equalled something suddenly akin to sheet ice covered in marbles!!! The front end washed out before I could even think about it and I ride a big bike in London and have ridden since I was 4 years old, be warned!!) The tv picture was unusually perfect for south east Asia and the choice of English movie chanels the best I have ever come across, beating even 5 star hotels I have been fortunate enough to stay in. Lovely beach two clicks away and other things for you to find locally too. Just remember to bring your driving licence and you're good to rent a scooter on arrival at the airport for 150,000 vnd = $6 usd approx I think. Spend more to be on Long beach in a bungalow/tikki style hut by all means but I will be back to Kinh Bac like shot!

very good value for money”
My girlfriend and me had a very pleasant stay at kinh bac. The manager and staff try to help with everything and have always a smile for you. Room is spacious and clean just bed is a little hard. We had once problem with our rented bike and the staff helped us in no time. It's close to sao beach but you have to rent a bike to be flexible. There are no restaurants in walking distance but the hotels food is really good. I can only recommend it to anyone. thanks for all.

Best hospitality ever !!!”
Pat, Chang and the rest of the staff was lovely. Pat sent me a welcome email and a taxi was waiting for us at the airport. We were treated to lots of sweets for Tet; and the breakfast was yummy. we rented motor bikes super easily and saw the pagoda near by, and the rest of the beaches on the island. They are building a full resort which should be gorgeous when it's done! It's maybe 2km from the most beautiful beach on the island, Bai Sao (which is stunning but over crowded and a bit dirty not in front of the main resort!) pat was knowledgeable about the area; and his English was superb. He's traveled around for work in Europe in the past, and his English shows. We were invited for beer, seafood and much more with them; it was super sweet. The rooms were perfectly clean (and brand spanking new!) and wifi was a good connection. I think the only reason there are less stars for the hotel is because it lacks a pool, but that's coming in the next few months.

Best hospitality”
Our stay was quiet & lovely. The management was exceptional. Pat (the manager) and Thanh were more than kind, welcoming, generous, and accommodating. They helped us book tours, arrange scooters, find beaches & other stuff on the island, and provided great company & advice. The hotel is brand new with beautiful wood carvings & nice furnishings. The rooms & bathrooms are nice & clean. The beds & pillows are comfortable. The island is big and if you stay at this hotel- scooters are a must! This hotel is a 20-30 min scooter ride from town (& the Long Beach area). But it's close (5-10 min scooter ride) to Sao Beach. The beaches are just ok. The island needs to clean up it's trash. We highly recommend this hotel. Great deal for the exceptional service.

The Place which make a Difference !!”
First of All I need to mention that the place was super clean and the staff was super smiley and they have accommodate All our request from the beginning to the end. More over they were always a step a head with their service for the whole our stay. people in the hotel helped with finding anything on the island. Thank you for making the stay so exceptional for us !! We would def recommend this hotel to anyone - dont look on the location as when I booked I was a bit worry about the distance from the beach but in the end it came that we were close to the best beach - SAO beach and we had close the aiport as well as the bigger city DONG DONG we have rented the scooter which helped us to see The whole Island as well as spent time on the SAO beach in the morning . The best hotel on the ISLAND

Very pretty Hotel with a great owner!”
We had a great stay at the hotel - THANK YOU! The rooms are very, very clean and pretty, which was a blessing after some darker places. In addition, the owner helped us whenever he could, even when we got sick he invited us to some rice :) The staff was just as great. The hotel is, indeed, located a little further abroad. But it is on the right side of the island and one of the few hotels close to Bai Sao!

Worst manager, quite different from reviews ”
In my life, and after a year of living and traveling in Vietnam, I was incredibly unimpressed with the manager of the Kinh Bac hotel. His family is quite friendly and helpful- what I've found to be the norm in such a wonderful country, but the manager himself is the worst person at customer service I (or my family) has ever met, being rude, not listening to obvious facts, and even talking over us on the phone. One of our rooms in a bungalow didn't work- the power blacked out despite the breaker not flipping, and he insisted that we would pay for it despite not being able to use it at all. Luckily we didn't have to pay for the broken room (which he knew about and tried to fix, but didn't work), or HIS booking fee to Agoda that he tried to force on us. The food (dinner at least) is way overpriced and nothing special, and you could pay a third of the price at any decent tourist restaurant anywhere in Vietnam. The hotel had also rented all their motorbikes out. This is important because it isn't close to anything, unless you like paying way more for taxis. The manager didn't help or offer any other options for motorbikes either, incredibly unhelpful fellow. The hotel also doesn't have spare keys for the rooms or a master key, so if the staff locks your key in the room (which isn't on you), expect a mild meltdown from the manager who refuses to use simple problem solving to move forward and instead mind numbing repetition of facts (3 keys, 3 rooms). Luckily the locks are terrible quality and a little force goes a long ways in finding your key and fleeing... On the other hand, the new Montana Resort just down the little road is great, has a pool and a good selection of well priced food, and super helpful customer service. Don't stay at the Kinh Bac unless you love losing money or incredibly rude managers.

Super Hospitality!”
It's located in the fine location, near many tourist attractions. The hotel manager and staff are really helpful and friendly. They recommended us for taxi rental and everything on the island. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was simply and tasty. We also had dinner in the hotel 2 days. The menu is limited choices, but it's super fresh and tasty. The prices of everything are reasonable. REALLY RECOMMENDED HOTEL. The hotel is incomparable at this price. Super budget hotel!

Good time at kinh back hotel, only 4 km to bai Sao but a almost 30 min by scooter to the town. Warm & welcoming atmosphere with really nice people - would highly recommend it!

Pristine Hotel”
Beautiful hotel with great service. One of the only stops on our trip where everything worked (a/c, water heater, doors, etc). It was a short scooter ride to a brand new temple overlooking the water or to Sao Beach. The south side is much less developed and feels less like a tourist trap. This must be the best value for your money on the island.

Excellent place for the price”
I stayed there for 3 nights and I was surprised for what I got for the price I paid. Everything was perfect from when I arrived at the airport. There was a cab waiting for me and the room was super clean with a nice bathroom comfy bed and working AC. Staff is super nice thanks to Pat and the girls who were helping me with all my diva requests. The beach is a cab away but it's the most beautiful beach of the island and even nicer than others I've seen in Thailand.

Great stay”
The staff at the hotel was very nice! I loved talking to Ben and his mom, who own the property. They assist you in anything and are very sweet people. The hotel was a good location- close to Sao Beach and away from the noisy city center. The rooms are clean and spatious. They were just a few ants in the room, but it's normal concidering the weather and location. Will definetly come back!

Brand new hotel with very friendly staff”
We arrived quite late due to delay of the plane and Pat arranged for a taxi to pick us up from the airport which was great after a long day of traveling. The rooms are brand new, very clean and quite big. For 40000vnd we got an upgrade to a room with a balcony which was nice because we could hang our hammock there. Scooters were available to explore the island (200000vnd per day). Each morning we were greeted by the lovely staff and asked if we had a good rest:) The hotel is still building a pool and plans are being made for a private beach. It is 20 minutes to the main town by scooter so not that central which was the only slight disadvantage of the hotel.
