Great owners, great location, amazing people ”
I arrived at 2am after my flight was delayed. Kitaro knows everyone's name who is arriving, so knew where I'm staying and was fine to do the official check in the morning. Although I just booked one night, unsure how long I would stay, the owner and the people I met made me extend and stay longer. I had great people in the room, together with the guy who just opened a restaurant next door to the hostel together with the hostel's owner. Kitaro is really a great host, he showed us around, took us to local watering holes, a karaoke bar and restaurants. His local knowledge is great and is always happy to help, going above and beyond! Everyone respects him in the town and it was always a great time being with Kitaro The hostel is close to the beach, walking distance to all pubs, bars and restaurants, scooter rental and laundry just seconds away. It's still not next to any resorts, so the atmosphere is very nice and local. It's very safe and there is always someone around the hostel or the restaurant. There is no other place I would rather stay in Phu Quoc and will be definitely coming back!

Home away from home”
We really enjoyed our stay at Kitaro. We were in the gated area a bit further down the lane from the hostel rooms. Our "apartment" was quiet and clean and the beach was a short walk (about five minutes) away. We will certainly stay there again when we return to Phu Quoc.

Excellent, better than expected”
We had a wonderful experience in Phu Quoc & Kitaro. As the staff here is very lovely & enthusiastic, if you dont know anything, they are always willing to assit. Moreover, the room in excellent with full facilities and super clean.

I love this apartment, its big, clean, just across the road from the beach, has a kitchen (i must admit though i was too lazy to cook so didnt use it), the host is very friendly and will help you with whatever you need, friendly cleaning lady that will also change your towels every day, laundry and bike rental services just a min walk away... I have nothing bad to say about this place!! Definately recommended to stay, worth every penny!! :)

Exceptional”
Nice two room apartment. Cleaning every day. No reception, but you can contact the manager via WhatsApp. The cleaning ladies don't speak english, but you can communicate with Google translate. There is 10 minute walk to an okay beach. Nice walk from main road to hostel with small shops and and few restaurants. A small local restaurant by the mainroad is recommended (nice food, 15000-40.000vd/meal).

basic hostel close to the beach, would stay again”
This is a good, basic hostel, super close to the beach. Beds are comfy, there are small lockers in the hallway for valuables. For getting around the island, you'll want a scooter, which you can rent here or around the corner for the same price. There is a courtyard with space to sit and talk, plus couches in the hallway and entry. Not a great atmosphere, but it was kind of empty when I was there so I'm sure it depends on when you go.

Great place to crash”
Stayed 3 nights. No breakfast included, but as eat out most of the time this wasn't an issue at all. Place was secure and clean, towels were changed on daily basis. The staff was nice, polite and helpful. Great value for the price paid. Recommended to all backpackers.

Super atmosphere - absolutely recommended”
Hi, I stayed 4 nights in the family room. The room is equipped with air condition, a kitchen and a lot of fans. I can absolutely recommend this accommodation. Best I've had while three months in Vietnam. Quiet, clean, close to the beach (about 5 mins walk). Nice garden and terrace of each property, fully equipped kitchen, decent sized rooms, perfect for family. We enjoyed our stays there.

The owners made it!”
Located close to the airport, and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Not much else around! The bed was comfy, good WiFi and good aircon too. Directly opposite is a lovely restaurant, ate there both days! Although the hostel isn't that lively, I was one of two guests, the staff couldn't do enough for you! Invited me to eat with them, drink with them and was more than happy to help with my onward travel!

Really liked staying here even extended my stay to be there longer. It's really close to the beach which is lovely. Only down side is the beds are not so stable and move a lot when anyone moved in the night.

i had a good time at the place. the owner was always around to make sure hes there when i needed even though i was not around 90% of the times. the location wasnt very close to the center but i rented a bike so i had no problem with that

15 mins walk away from Rory's beach bar”
Good value for money. Had AC and a little kitchen. Quiet space, away from the main road. It was about a 15 walk to our favorite beach chill spot, Rory's. It's family run - was able to communicate using Google translate.

Adequate for price”
I actually had a nice stay here but the beds are pretty hard, and there is no TV. There is a lounge for daytime use which is very pleasant but sweltering hot. It is too far from Duong Dong to walk. So the main attraction was the location only 5 minutes walk from a nice beach. And the staff who are excellent.
