Good room, but too far and bed not comfy”
The room is simple and clean, bed is not comfy, you can feel the springs, but I was so tired that I could sleep. Super far from the Center, so I don’t recommend you can find something better and closer, maybe 2-5 bucks more. Very run down landscape and no tourist support, although we arrived very late and there was someone sleeping at reception which was a bonus.
Far from town, staff unwilling to help”
Although the rooms were fine, and the location is quiet if you want to be away from the bars, we had very bad interactions with the staff there. Although the description said “town center”, it means “near the local bus station, but not the tourist busses”. After getting a tuk tuk which took us across then several kilometers out of town, we arrived and sat 10 minutes waiting for someone to come to check us in. The staff don’t speak any English, but that’s fine, we got on google translate to ask about renting one of their motorbikes. “No”. I guess those bikes aren’t for rent. Translated “how far to a bike rental shop?” Pointed towards town, “2 kilometers”. It was just after noon, the sun was beating down, we didn’t have sun cream or water. We translated, “it’s very hot, could you call somebody from a bike rental shop to bring one here?”, “no”. She turned back to playing the game on her phone. Translated, “Agoda said this guesthouse was in the town center, but it is far. There are no shops or drivers here. You have your motorbike. Can you give my husband a ride to a bike shop?”. Her reply, “no. Walk 2 kilometer” and turned back to her phone. After calling over to her mum to explain the situation, who just screamed “no!” over at us in English. We wasted nearly 3 hours of our one and only day in Vang Vieng on finding the place, this conversation, then walking into town to get a bike. It wouldn’t have been so infuriating if any of the staff members had just pretended to care or taken their eyes off of their mobile games for a minute. We would have gone to a different guesthouse if my card hadn’t already been charged for the stay, and they knew this. Also they didn’t sell any food or drinks, so don’t stay here unless you’re preparing some transport or prepared to walk far for anything.
Place ok room not”
No wifi , no place to hang your stuff a little big far from the village. No services the place is nice with some more efforts could be a beautiful place. Unfortunately Lao.
you can find something CHEAPER, CLEANER, CLOSER. Not bad if your going to the bus station ( Close walk) But if your looking to stay and be where everything is happening id stay closer to the city centre. Breakfast was bread and eggs, no fruit, instant coffee. There was a hole in our window ... just not a good experience
no power on a Sunday ”
we booked several nights at this accommodation, great spacious place, breakfast included. Also provide a free bicycle for a deposit. only downside Sunday they had no power. so we couldn't have a warm shower, or use anything.
The rooms ARE light, airy and spacious...and clean. The bed very comfortable, and there is a nice balcony outside. HOWEVER - neither the room nor the balcony had any chairs or seating area as such, and I must admit, that as I am not really in the habit of sitting lao-style on the floor; I missed a couple of chairs, and therefore did not really enjoy this otherwise lovely place as much as I could have. The bathroom was very nice. Sometimes the Wi-Fi worked in the room - sometimes not. But it worked fine in the common area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You should bear in mind, though, that there are no restaurants in the vicinity, so you will have to walk into town - which is about a 20-30 minutes walk. Each way.
great place, but uncomfortable situation with owners”
The rooms are great, the shower is one of the best in Asia, you can rent bikes for free (the place is far from the city, they have only 2 though). We were probably the only guests in the whole place. We decided to stay for a few more nights and when we asked the owner he said to pay there and not in agoda but he was asking for a higher price. We showed him the price we paid and the current price for the room shown in Agoda and he just laughed and said that we have to pay in cash what he says. We of course couldn't accept that ridiculous offer and started searching for other place, when suddenly he turned off the wifi. We packed our bags and left. stay at your own risk!
Decent private A/C room walking distance to bus station ”
This was the most affordable A/C private room around Vang Vieng, and the room itself was pretty decent. Located in a villa, it was large, with a couple of tables and chairs, patio and decent bathroom. We liked that there was a wall separation for the shower from the rest of the bathroom (unlike many economy Asian bathrooms). It was just a few blocks away from the bus station, which saved us the hassle of dealing with oppurtunistic tuk tuk drivers. They also provide free bicycles for you to use, but no facilities to rent a scooter, which is a huge downfall on their part. It's a 20 minute walk in the scorching heat to the center of town. The WiFi is almost non-existent from the room but satisfactory at the common lounge. Breakfast was average and served at the restaurant at the end of the road. The grounds are in dire need of upkeep and just looks like a dried up soccer field now. I'm pretty sure we were the only pepole there the whole 2 days. We were really happy that they have two small and very cute dogs, who will yap at first but are absolute sweethearts when they get up close.
Excellent located calm guesthouse”
The location is perfect - it's very calm outside, market that works in the morning and during the day, where you can buy local food, fruit and vegetables very cheap is very close. Territory is great. Free breakfast. Bad Wi-Fi, I would say there is no WI-Fi in this guest.
Pretty garden area. About 10 mins walk to tourist hub. Clean and good size room. Nice view's. Friendly staff. Breakfast was satisfactory.
Could be so much better”
The bed was so hard I couldn't sleep the first night and would have checked out but would have lost my money. Bathroom really nice, but although the room is huge, size isn't everything. There was NO furniture with the exception of a tiny beat up table by the bedside, so nowhere to put my bag, nowhere to hang my clothes, nothing on the walls. It was kind of bleak and bare and bunker like and it wasn't the kind of place I looked forward to returning to at the end of the day. A better bed and a few wall hangings would have made a big difference.
Good breakfast, but bit far from city centre”
Breakfast here was included and was very enjoyable. Things that let the place down was no WI-FI in the room (only in communal outdoor area), lots of bugs getting in the room, not very helpful staff.
Room was ok ”
20 mins walk from the centre and moved our stuff to the other room without asking while we were away!
Perfectly cozy guesthouse a little further from the city center”
This guesthouse was worth every penny! The family who owns this place place were extremely friendly and although the city center is about a 20 minute walk, we were able to rent bicycles for free each day and ride into town in only about 8-10 minutes. Our rooms were very spacious, clean, and comfortable as well. We would stay here again if we visit Vang Vieng in the future!
Bungalows just out of town ”
KL Guesthouse is a short 15 minute walk out of town so it's perfect if you don't want to worry about getting disturbed by music from the bars in town. The rooms are in duplex bungalows spread around a large grassed area so you definitely get your own space. The rooms are clean and light. The wifi worked intermittently in the room but worked perfectly in the reception area. The TV has English language movie channels. The breakfast consists of coffee, tea, apple, fried eggs, bread, butter and jam which I really enjoyed. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone who doesn't want to stay in the centre of Vang Vieng.
quiet room with good bath ”
Missing something to let the clothes
breakfast was ok, the guesthouse is not located in the center but you can reach it by bike in 10 minutes, the boy at the reception didn't speak english very well so he can't give us some information, you can rent bicycle at the guesthouse but we didn't get some because he can't understand us (wait for the owner - he speaks english more better)
A little out of town, but quiet”
The KL Guesthouse is about a 20 minute walk from the main part of town, so you have to plan your trips in a bit. But that also means that it is in a quieter part of town, which is what we were looking for. The rooms are actually half of a duplex building, so as long as your neighbors are nice you feel like you have a bit of privacy. The staff wasn't always around so if we needed something it was a bit of a search. In the room the wi-fi signal was weak.
The rooms were quite nice, yet somehow hot during the day. They have a very big yard surrounding the rooms, with mango trees around. There might me some insects going to your room because of the trees around. Nice free breakfast. Staffs are quite helpful though they speak nearly no English.
