Find hotels near Klaeng in Rayong, Thailand

Headed down to Klaeng, Rayong for a couple of nights to get out of Bangkok. The location of the resort was quite nice, peaceful and quiet, with a pleasant setting. The facilities are showing signs of age and I'm sure it was quite a nice place when it was new. The rooms are nice enough, basic but what else do you really want from a hotel room that has an oceanfront setting?! Our complaint was more that each day, whilst we are sure the room was appropriately prepared it always felt that there was some sand in and on the bed. We didn't utilise the pool on this trip but both of the pools were very inviting and appeared very well maintained, not huge in size but they were never filled with people anyway so I would describe them as being just right for the setting. The view from the resort is quite nice, straight down and onto the beach where there are some lounge chairs to relax and share a few drinks and nibble on some snacks as the sun sets in the evening. Whilst it would appear there are some negative comments in the review, would I recommend others to stay there? Absolutely!

Very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The pool is huge and beautiful, and the area around it is also very nice, with plenty of sun loungers and very good restaurant service. If you are looking for a simple holiday where you can enjoy a very good breakfast and sit by the pool, this hotel will do the job. The room was spacious with a very nice, modern bathroom. Air con worked very well. Bed was comfortable. Balcony was very big, with a nice little table and two chairs. Excellent cleaning staff, reception staff and breakfast staff. My only complaint would be with the Buffalo Bill restaurant next door (which apparently is not managed by the hotel, but is affiliated with it). We had two meals there, and they were pretty horrible. I would highly recommend eating at the local Thai place just next to Buffalo Bill's -- it's called The Kitchen Restaurant. Excellent, cheap food, and it is a 1-minute walk from the hotel. We ate virtually all of our lunches and dinners there, and loved it.

I stayed at this hotel a few times. I return as it is a convenient place to stay for my visits to the Rayong/Klaeng area. The rooms are large with a good view to the sea. We usually have dinner at the restaurants near the sea. However, this time, due to heavy rain I was "forced" to have dinner at the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised how well the food was prepared and it really tasted great.

It's a good experience to be there! It's far away from town, @40 mins drive to town, @10 mins walk to nearby hotel with foods & massage. There's no 24 hrs services, from morning to 10pm only, have to find the security guard if necessary, we haven't been to a hotel like this. It seems silent & dark in the hotel area at night, no more night life but it's not quiet as it's located on the roadside, traffic was noicy at all. Staffs there don't know English much but they are nice & helpful, all they were trying there best to serve our needs. Breakfast can just feed our stomach, fruits are always with flys. Few set meals for lunch & dinner were the same with no hope. Hire a motorbike with net @5 mins back to the way to town, there were many local seafoods kitchens on the beach which were cheap & tasty. Swimming pool facing the sea was amazing, walking on the beach or hire a boat for fishing were enjoyable too. Overall the hotel is comfortable & valuable to stay!

We cannot recommend the Rayong Marriott hotel highly enough. The most child friendly dining, pool and play facilities ever seen in a hotel. We spent our wedding anniversary there and the staff surprised our room with roses, balloons, wine, chocolate and a card from all of the reception staff. Truly a special occasion. The Rayong Marriott staff went above and beyond catering for us from start to finish and we sincerely cannot thank them enough. The best hotel experience we've ever had. Book the ocean view with the lavish breakfast. Happy hour at each restaurant/bar and enjoy the infinity beach pools. Special thanks to Julia Gerhard for liaising with my friend Gemma for the elaborate surprise and Khun Chanjira for the splendid chocolate dinner after dinner. Khun Ninpradab, the front office manager who oversaw the whole priceless experience and we sincerely appreciate their hard work, professionalism and personal touch.

This was one where I was so reluctant to leave on my business trips. The others, some, I can’t wait for morning to come and check out. For their weekday price, for the comfort level and functionality of the room, for the name Centara, it was an extremely worth well bargain. I will not get such matching levels of services, amenities and enjoyment of being pampered by a well maintained environment in other hotels this region. The view from my Superior Ocean Facing room was awesome. In between my frantic typing on my keyboard, should I needed to relax, I had only to walk out the balcony to reset my un-focused mind back into its stable state. The breeze, the sound of ocean waves, there was no sound of traffic nor noisy crowd. For this hotel was a 50km drive from Rayong, but it will be worth the trip and return I will. Seclusion but without the lack of attention like other hotels do. Meal wise, I enjoyed dining at their pool bar just off the beach. There was a glitch when dessert was served, just a small one. Creme Brulee was frozen at the core, I could hear ice crystals crackling when my spoon dug in. This was further confirmed when I thought I was eating sorbet. They kindly re-served me another one when I voiced out my concern and had to convince the staff that Creme Brulee is not an ice cream with a hot crusty top. My second Brulee was, well at least not frozen, I could tell they tried to warm it up. However, the food & beverage department side of my brain was totally confused if I was having dessert or breakfast. Creme Brulee had a texture of scrambled eggs. My confused brain was fortunately reset to the proper state in the morning where I truly enjoyed their excellent breakfast. Fully re-charged, I was back on the road, reluctantly much that was.

The hotel offers all international standard services (e.g. internet access, Spa service, valet parking) on the stretch of Klaeng beach, which is being developed with up-scale Condos and hotels. The beach by this hotel is however still much cleaner and in-tact with golden sand, when compared with those in Hua Hin. Our room was rather small with a window facing the hotel structure, but we did not mind as we stay the most of time outside by the pool or on the beach. The hotel has two restaurants – one Italian and one Thai-International – both are quite good. The only down side was that checking out took a bit longer than usual for the reception to arrange.

this was an excellent hotel, great swimming pool, fabulous beach and sea. no complaints at all about the hotel - fully recommend, but the price we paid through agoda was over 30% higher than when we booked an extended stay direct. also, the agoda map showed it to be about 1 km from banphae - we were going to walk until a local advised it was much further. it is actually about 12 km, so be warned.

It is not really a resort. It is the letting out of villas that have individual owners. checking in is a bit confusing. Non of the usual things like ID checking or the requirement of a credit card for guarantee. Basic necessities are provided, like toilet paper, water and shampoo and towels. But more sophisticated things like a hairdryer are not. There is also no room cleaning and no landline phone to contact the resort. The ambience is nice, though not very private with the high-rise condo right next door. Breakfast is available as a small buffet and is not pricey. Wifi is provided free of charge

It was very difficult to find because name of hotel is not well displayed and it is new ,so none of the locals knew of it.But once there it was a good experience.Beach is just across the street and there is a Seven 11 type store next door and many restaurants and coffee shops nearby ( The Kitchen is very good ).There is also a very reasonably priced menu that you can order from downstairs restaurant.I was lucky enough to find a van that picked me up near the hotel and went to Ekkamai BTS in Bangkok for 200 baht.This is less than it cost to go there by van from Ekkamai to Terminal 2 Rayong and song kaew to Terminal 1 and another to Laem Mae Phim .Tel 0814299554

We stayed there for one night on our road-trip along the coast. The resort is located quite far away from cities, so best is to have your own transport. Room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed staying there and to refresh in the pool before heading further. Can't imagine staying only at the resort for longer because of the limited activities in the area. If you are just looking for a quiet place to relax then go there. The restaurant offers a breakfast buffet.

This place was more then I was expecting. The place was more then I expected by way of really leaving the traffic and noise behind. A bit secluded, was right up my alley. Any one that has been camping will understand when I say a small but roomy enough cabin with a deck built for two. Over looking the ocean and the pool was probably the best part of the stay. Quite, peaceful and more then relaxing place to unwind from the busy city of Bkk. and Pattaya. A place that I would and will be going back to. Staff bent over backwards to tend to our every need.

The hotel is clean and right opposite the beach. Beach is clean and the water is clear. Rooms are clean and new and the staff is excellent. However at 5pm on Saturday the thumping sounds from the resort nearby started and the bass started pumping and echoing in the room till after 1am. The receptionist was apologetic but seems couldn't do anything when complained. Then to make it worse at 8 am the music starts again and thus time it's louder and even more annoying. If you want to come for a holiday it's best to avoid Mae Phim as there is no consideration for the traveler who wants to come relax. While driving around the day there were cars fitted with loud speaker parked by the beach blasting the sounds....

Although this hotel may have seen better days, it was clean and comfortable. The view of the ocean from my 4th floor corner room was unbelievable. I had the best internet connection as they had separate wifi on each floor. Across the street was a beautiful beach and some excellent restaurants. There is no elevator, so if you can't climb stairs be sure to ask for a lower floor.

my wife and i stayed for 4 nights. fyi: much of my impression is in comparison to phuket. hotel is located about 25 minutes from rayong (our taxi was 350baht). once there, we did not get in or on a motorized vehicle again until our cab picked us to go to bangkok after checkout (2000baht by the way). if you want to super relax without the hassle and noise of traffic, nightlife, and tons of tourists, this is a great place. if you want to do more, such as day tours, the hotel is a licensed vendor of undiscovered thailand tours--some of them looked quite fun, though we did not go on any. a small town is a few minutes away if you want some markets. otherwise, the property is a collection of charming bungalows with patios, winding paths lined with vegetation (many are labeled which was interesting), a nice common-area/restaurant that is pretty much the hit of a few square miles i think, a very nice, clean pool, and a spa. breakfast is good and varied and was included in our price. we ate lunch and most dinners there too. good thai food, and great brick oven pizza. we had mani/pedi's and 3 massages in spa--good prices and nice people. location is directly across a relatively quiet road (compared to anything in phuket for example), very easily and safely crossed. the beach is lined with hundreds of umbrellas, chairs and tables usable for free. beach "restaurants" line the beach with more good, affordable food, especially sea food. the room was large and clean, but a bit dated. for a me, i don't want a bungalow that is too slick or polished. this was the right mix of comfort and charm. bed was king size memory foam. of the tourists, many were european & north american, but a nice factor was that on weekend, many of beach-goers were thai couples and families down for the weekend. it was nice to see thais enjoying their own country, instead of just serving us while we enjoy it!

when you are looking for a place where you won`t find any other tourist than this will be your place. But be aware that you should bring your own car or bike because the next village (ban phe) is pretty far away - lets say 10 km. There you will find the ferry/speed boats to ko samed. altough the ressort has its own direct beach and they keep it tidy - their beach is really the best , has style and is kept tidy. They cannot be held responsible that the area of rayong is one where a lot of trash is stranding. better go to samed - we stayed at ao phai (by speed boat 200 one way/ferry 100 roundtrip). The food at the ressort is good - try the chicken with cashew nuts. If you should need something do not hesitate to ask. They will take care.

Great hotel, under 100 meters to the ocean with some good restaurants on the oceanfront. 7/11 on the corner for all your nightly munchie needs. Probably the best hotel in the area, and for this price, an absolute steal. I planned only to stay one night, but decided to extend my stay. They have a restaurant on the first floor, I didn't expect much, but I have to say, they have the best food I have had in Thailand so far. The thaifood was great, and the western food they serve is better than what I have had in Europe. No, they did not pay me to write this. I had a little accident on the stairs, managed to fracture my heel, the care I got was better than what I have had at most doctors offices. Seriously, don't browse any more, just book this place.

Me and my husband staying only 1 night at chicken house and out of expected the hotel was so clean, comfortable and cute.And we meet the nice and friendly owner of hotel call ONN which really help us a lot in our journey. It's sad that we only stay for only 1 day which we should have stay another couple of days. We stop over at the hotel as we need to transfer to private island. And i can't forget the moment they serve us the delicious porridge in the morning!the taste was awesome! We shall drop by again if we have chance to hang out Pattaya again!~

We were on a short trip around Rayong. We only stayed here for one night. With our new born and a 3 year old children. The staff were pleasant and tried there best to please. The gardens were beautiul, and very spacious. The swimming pool is very well designed and very big, but it wasn't the cleanest pool I have ever swam in. The resort is located right on the beach, however it is not a sandy beach. It is slightly muddy, but not too much to put you off walking over it. If you walk out the sea is incredibly shallow for a long way out. When the tide goes out you can walk and explore a huge area. The room was very dated and everything in the room/bathroom needs refurbishing. Still for the cheap price I can't complain too much. It was a very quiet place, with very few people there. The breakfast was basic. There is a nice restaurant on the main road, but you definately need your own transport if you are staying here.

This could have been a five star stay with a few changes. We arrived and there was no reception area. We had to pick our keys up from the nearby mini-mart. The girl behind the counter seemed to be unable to answer most of our questions. The so called sea view can only be seen out on the balcony by leaning over the rail a looking between the buildings. There was no internet in the room and the free internet at the mini-mart was useless. The television only had Thai programs. Lastly maid service was not included and cost an extra 500 baht per day. The one saving grace was the awesome rooftop infinity pool. We only discoved it by accident as there are no signs that it even exists but once there the seaview was great.

Madam Resort is a fantastic place to stay if you are heading from Trat to Bangkok.It is located 20 kms on Route 344 from the intersection of Sukhumvit Road(Klaeng) and route 344. The actual resort is about 1 km off the main road but once you arrive it is like a mini paradise. The quietness is broken only by the sound of birds and the many inviting places to walk or sit or explore are numerous. The rooms themselves have been decorated thoughtfully and include contemporary furnishings and custom made blockout curtains. The fittings in the accomodations are unique and range from colourful tiles to hanging space for many pieces to comfortable sofa or chairs and table sets. There are balcony's outside each unit or you can relax in one of 2 salas overlooking the lotus and fish filled pond.Or explore and taste the fruit from the trees or simply sit on the swings beside the pond and enjoy the view and tranquility. The breakfast was surprisingly substantial and the cutlery and crockery used shows that great thought has gone into the presentation of this meal. We will be using this resort again.

Fantastic location right next to the coast, the pool was great and the kids loved it. The owners who live nearby were great and very helpful and friendly. The nearby beach at Mae Phim was relaxing and quiet, and safe for children as it slopes very gently. Ideally you would need your own transport to visit the surrounding areas but there were bicycles and a motorcycle at the villa for use by the occupiers. I can highly recommend a stay at the villa, and I will hopefully return myself in the near future. I have given a 3 rating for the Food/Dining section to allow me to submit the review although food was not included.

I was a bit scared to book since there was only 1 review, but I really don't regret! This condo hotel is a great and unbeatable value for money compared to many other places in the area! I will definitely come back again! The owner was really kind and waited for us even after check in time at 6pm, we arrived at 8.30pm. The room is really cozy, clean, nice decoration and with all the modern equipment. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can cook, there are even seasonings included like salt, pepper, oil and else! I see only positive things to say about this place. Even a direct access to the beach at 100 meters and a great rooftop swimming pool and gym! Probably my best best value for money since I live in Asia!

Wind down and relax. One of the most comfortable quiet resorts that I have stayed in Thailand during the past twenty years. The rooms are high spec and excellent value for money. The owner Ebby is most helpful and personable, the perfect host, he will make sure you have what you need for a comfortable stay. There are many beautiful spots around the Rayong/Klaeng coast which are all within 25 Kilometres of Kevin resort. We hope to make a return trip within the next year or so.
