Klong Prao Beach is just a few kilometers south of White Sand Beach on Koh Chang. It’s divided into thirds by the river estuary, and there are three distinct communities onsite: Klong Prai, Chai Chet and Map Khangkhao.
Each of the three communities operates accommodation in Klong Prao Beach. Guests enjoy a quieter atmosphere than on White Sand Beach without giving up access to cosmopolitan amenities. It only takes a few minutes to travel between Klong Prao Beach and White Sand Beach.
The sea is the most popular attraction here, and vacationers spend the day diving, swimming, kayaking or simply sunbathing. The island still has much of its primary forests, and treks are easily arranged through hotel staff. The most popular place to see on a trek is Khlong Plu Waterfall, which is part of the local estuary. Another local attraction is Khlong Prao Temple.
Fresh seafood abounds, with plenty of restaurants in each of the three communities. The local night scene, while not as rowdy as White Sand Beach’s, still has plenty to offer. The emphasis at Klong Prao Beach is on sunset beach bars and trendy lounges attached to the major hotels.
Most of the hotels at Klong Prao Beach are in the four-star range. These are classic beach resorts, offering comprehensive facilities, spa treatments, massage therapy and a full range of activities for guests.
