A bed near the airport...”
There was really nothing wrong with this place. If you're expecting the Hilton, go to the Hilton. It was a clean bed near JFK. Do note that there are only like 6 parking spots for the entire building. I actually lucked into getting one of them but if you don't, there is a neighborhood around the hotel that you'll have to parallel park. It looked like finding a spot could be difficult.

Very accessible to JFK via the AirTrain, quick and seamless check-in, and allows you to store luggage after check-out. I needed a place to stay overnight arriving at JFK at 10pm and with a quick meeting the next day at Manhattan before flying to my next destination which is Atlanta. AirTrain provided that sweet midway point being close to the airport where I was able to sleep soundly upon arrival, leave my stuff the next morning after check-out, and access Manhattan via the Rhode Island Terminal going to Penn Station and from Penn Station to Times Square (just two stops that takes 20minutes total). Price is very cheap as the hotel room itself is well-furnished with comfortable beds, large bathroom and basic amenities. No fridge or water heater/coffee machine but they have a pantry at the Sublevel and also the sister hotel next door which is Le Tap offers free coffee and tea at the lobby for both Le Tap and AirTrain guests. Far from city center but very accessible to JFK!

It is advertised as a non smoking hotel with a 700 dollar fee for smoking but stunk of smoke throughout the entire building.

Safety”
For the price of this hotel, I was taken aback by the other guests in the lobby as I entered. I was confused, wondering if this was really what it was advertised to be. I was very scared, I did not feel safe, It seems to be a homeless shelter with very unruly guests and the smell of weed in the elevator and corridor was awful. Discipline, respect and better management could help resolve some of these issues. It was the worst experience I have had staying in a hotel. Good Luck.

It’s. 2.5 out of 5 at best. Looks like mostly used for shady activities. Not a place I’d ever stay at if I had any other options. I didn’t even want to touch the bed sheets. On the plus side they are close to airports, across the street from train station and they have free secure parking in back.

the hotel inside looks like new remodel. there are few things i have to complain. First, the sound insulation was terrible i even can hear people's step when they walked along the hallway. Second, the air circulation was not working. sometimes i can smell some smoking in our bathroom and when walking in the hallway. Finally, here is an advice if you took red eye flight to NY that they do offer free early check in when booked via their website.

Air conditioner and most lights didn't work. Elevator was rickety and smelled strongly of old cigarettes. There was gunk on the floor in the room and bathroom that looked like it could be easily cleaned up but had been there for a long time. The shower looked slightly mildewed. The towels and sheets appeared to be relatively clean. The door latch lock (the one that allows you to open the door an inch) was broken off.

Booking was at AirTrain Plaza hotel but we were given to stay at some Letap Inn just the next block. We booked looking at the pictures but where we had to stay was completely different. Room was very small for 2 queen beds. Bathroom was not very clean. Hardly any staff. Not enough quantity of food for breakfast (we were told American breakfast but they had only scrambled eggs, jam, doughnuts and cereal). Location was the only advantage as there were plenty of small shops around for food and cheap shopping (not high quality goods). Very very disappointing ! Will not recommend!!!

Room smelled of smoke despite being non smoking. Sheets are tattered. Heating was broken so room was cold and then too hot at times. If you paid 20-40 dollars/night might make sense. Location is the only good thing as its right next to the airtrain station.

God awful”
No mention of construction going on in hotel and that we would have to stay at their sister Inn next door. The Inn (though supposedly non smoking) smelled like weed in the hallways and rooms (we saw some people smoking. When we asked the front desk about it, he just shrugged and said “it’s supposed to be a non smoking hotel but people smoke”. The rooms were infested with cockroaches- found one in the bed and three in the bathroom. Rooms were tiny - and hence so were the beds (actually suitable for one adult). I’d give this one a hard pass next time.

The toilet was broken since it kept flashing the entire night. Even the posted signs of no smoking the entire place smell of smoke
