Rural Retreat near Shangri-la”
This is a wonderful farmhouse retreat, with modern amenities. Between the spa, all day dining, and laundry we could be anywhere. But this farmhouse retreat is clearly away from everything. Come here to get away but know that there are dozens of local staff (all speak Mandarin, some speak English) to help arrange tours, meals, or massages.

Not good value for money; tours are a rip off”
Pros: - Villas are huge (2-storey) and comfy Cons: - Need to double all prices for transfers / tours (for the same trip, Banyan tree Lijiang offered half price versus what was asked at Banyan tree Ringha) - Booked a tour with the hotel staff but got an inexperienced guide (who acknowledged he was not a regular tour guide for the resort); no discount was offered to compensate for the loss of our time (we went to uninteresting places)

there is no words for this place, it is absolutely stunning. A wonderful place, very remotely located in the Tibetan highlands at the very Western end of the province of Yunnan, a 30 minute drive outside Shangri-La. The landscape is breathtaking. The staff couldn't be more friendly or accomodating. The rooms/villas are fantastic, even better than on the pictures on the Banyan Tree's website

This is one of the most remarkable hotels in the world and is truely unique. Staying at Ringha is an unparalleled experience. The staff are amazing; when they found out it was my birthday they got me a gift and a birthday cake for after dinner. They managed every need and helped reassure us and made some calls when we we fogged in on our departure day. The manager Mario is a delight and made our 4 day visits even better by his attention. If you have the chance go...there is nothing like it.

Very relaxing and comfortable stay”
Very nice stay, though a bit expensive. Location is far from other attractions and is completely uphill. So if you are going to stay here, be prepared to either spend your time inside the hotel or book a private car. Basically there is nothing around until you drive around 20 mins away from the hotel.

The Banyan Tree Ringha was a fantastic place to go and relax, explore the countryside and experience rural Tibetan culture. The food services were a bit limited and excursions over-priced.

Lovely setting. The Banyan tree arranged road transfer from Lijiang. Hotel is somewhat outside Shangrila / Zhongdian town. Had a number of small housekeeping / room service issues. Upon complaint the hotel staff responded brilliantly 'Tours' very good

Great hotel but a bit overprice ”
Overall a great experience - it would be a great choice if you just like to stay in the hotel. Not a convenient location. It would be great if hotel can provide a complimentary airport pickup service to make up for the location. Service can definitely be improved.

Set in a beautiful location, almost unbelievable”
We enjoyed the stay in banyan tree rhinga especially the relaxing and beautiful setting that housed the tubetian lodges. The staff were attentive and more often, they were able to anticipate our needs.

- Before I went, I was still quite skeptical about the potentially "over-commercial" development of China tourism. However, Banyan Tree Ringha is a completely different game - quitely situated in 6 villages and easily access to the airport, old town and other sights. - Reccommand one for a weekend gateaway: Trip to old town / Visit to the Songzanlin Monastry / Trekking to the Dabao Monastry / Spa. - Recommand two for a long stay: Use as a base for snow-mountain exploration or tribe tour around Yunan Province.
