Secluded place! ”

We got off at the wrong place initially - took the ferry from jetty Tiga Rajah when we supposedly took the ferry from Ajibata because we are dropping off at Ambarita. It was quite a journey to get here at first. This hotel is a bit far from tuk tuk (where majority of the hotels are located) but fair to say just what we needed. Came to lake toba basically to just relax and this place has everything. Very pretty, cosy and clean no doubt about that!! Even got it’s own private small beach at the front of the hotel. They do provide scooter rent at 120k/day (24 hours) but make sure to give them a head up because they’ll have to deal with the local scooter renter and it can take some time also. From here to the nearest halal food place probably took us around 10-15 minutes by scooter. Not that many things you can find around here. But then again, depends on your plan. We planned to go all the to bukit holbung the second day we are there and we already saved like 30minutes as compared to tuk-tuk to bukit holbung so depends on your plan also. Overall i’ll give 5✨

lousy. waste of money”

A 3 stars hotel with more than 50 rooms, couldn't provide us a hairdryer! need to ask for toilet roll and towels after check in to room. hotwater is not enough for 5 minutes shower. breakfast is lousy just Noodle and rice. staff is not helpful. when order dinner. was told need to wait more than an hour. only 2 tables customer in the dining hall. how many staff is working? very noisy as customers sing karaoke pass 12am.

Clean Room and friendly staffs ”

Clean room , friendly staffs , location not as good as described as transportation not available at night, even you manage to get one , the charges is exorbitant , foods is not much option at hotel restaurant , hot water not provided at room, you have to go to the restaurant and get it . Surrounding restaurant somes are good , but before ordering please look at the price .

There was a weird smell when we stepped in. There were bugs on the pillow, dusty bed frame and dirty toilet. Can't wait to check out when we were there.

Nice clean hotel very good friendly staff very friendly restuarant staff n smile faces.... just beside lake super view friendly manager too overalls very good... we enjoyed thanks for all the staffs keep your smile faces always... we will back soon

Wow super hotel in samosir very quiet place ..the garden look nice room very good n clean all staff are very good n smile face ...Restaurant chice are limited but the staff can touch our hearts so good with us n always smile face ...if you need a relax can choose this hotel ...its just attached lake super we love this place

Good Hotel”

The hotel is very comfortable, the view is amazing since it located in the side of the toba lake. Staffs are friendly. If you come with driver, they have room for the driver ( for free CMIIW)

Good Location”

The hotel located perfectly so that in the morning you will witness the magnificent sunrise from your room balcony. Unfortunately, the facility needs to be improved, especially the in-house phone to help us communicate with the staffs easier..

Will stay again”

Most hotels in Lake Toba does not have fan in the room, Rogate is one of the rare gem to have fan in the room, Thank God! The weather was quite hot when we were there in February.

The price is too expensive compare to the facilities and cleanliness. ”

The towel is still damp. They dont put the mat at the room. The superior class shoud have water heater facilities due to the price of room. They dont sweep the insects in the room and also lots at the stairs.

Hotel is in good shape. Room and hotel compound are very well kept. Not too far from Tomok town. Staffs are courteous and friendly. Arriving into Tomok, you can rent a motorcycle for around SGD15 for 24 hrs. Going around Samosir Island is easy as they only have one road around.

Quiet and a little further from lake toba”

Quiet and nice place to relax. Staff is helpful and flexible. Great view by the beach and cool at night. Electricity is not stable, tripped a few times. Hotel's condition is new and clean. You need your own transport cause it's quite a distance from Lake Toba. No shops within walking distance. Will stay again.

Quiet and great stay”

The room faces the sea so we were able to enjoy the beautiful seaview just from our room. Room was clean and well-ventilated, even without air-con. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. Communication was no problem since they spoke fairly fluent english. As public transport was pretty difficult to find in Samosir, the staff were nice enough to offer to drive us around with a small fee. Overall, the stay was pleasant and we enjoyed it a lot. Definitely recommend.

Beyond expectation”

Maybe rogate is not the best hotel you'll find in Indonesia, but the location of rogate make up for it. The moths kinda disturbing, but i figure it's a normal thing to happen in toba lake area, because i've been to a couple of places and i found the same problem with moths. But really we are beyond amaze with the location, from the balcony of our room, we can see to the left a beautiful hills with mist, and to the right directly to toba lake. It feels like we're not in Indonesia. And even though our room didn't have aircon, the night's still breezing. I think if you want a perfect experience in toba lake, you better stay here than in Parapat area, seriously.

Staff are all well trained. Hotel equips with many facilities. Room is clean. But location is not convenient for those without cars. You will hav to alight at TUK TUK ferry terminal and ride a motorbike taxi there. The journey is about 8km. Hotel manager is very responsive. He provides a lot of info for us, which is very helpful.
