Beach nice, but the resort so-so

Clean Friendly Resort”

I read the reviews before booking and noted that there were several negative views from locals while foreign guests gave good ones. My personal experience was that the front desk, housekeeping and maintenance staff were all very friendly and helpful, the rooms are what is to be expected for the price you pay and remember that it is in front of the sea, so deterioration from the salty air is to be expected. Yes there were some minor breakdowns with the apartment facilities, but the maintenance came almost immediately and fixed what they could. We did not get to try the food facilities as they were catering to a government group meeting. The CEO/Owner was a very cheerful man who was obviously very busy running around getting things done, First time I have met a CEO in shorts and T shirt which was very refreshing versus the usual guy in coat and tie using his finger.

If don't find any other hotel then it is ok. Otherwise don't recommend this. They don't provide even water bottles also, No room service. You can find ANTs on the walls in bedrooms and living room. Bathroom smelly. All are very OLD items. Only good thing is very near to beach.

My apartment was okay and clean however the overall hotel was a bit rundown. my apartment from seaview. bathroom in each bedroom ..large hall n dining room. room was very old AC old, 1 AC in living room its not sufficient, hot water service not available.Fishing Village River right at doorsteps.10 Meter to the Beach..

Nice view , relax and worth it .”

Everything was good , bigger pool , closed to the see , a lot off seashell at the beach also can see nice sunrice . This place so amazing to stay with family and kids , beach is very privacy . I will come back here again and again .

Dirty resort ”

Very disappointed with the room it very dirty, floor very sticky and full of dust. Toilet very dirty not water heater, very smelly, bath tub very dirty. The swimming pool water very dirty . I will never come back to this resort and will never suggest to any friend of this resort.

worst ever holiday experience i ever had!!!!!!”

the unit was filthy, dust mites and roaches on bed linen and blankets. the aircond was not functioning!!!! toilet amenities not in orrder, shower head was rusty. seriously need restructuring and refurbishing!!!! won't be recommending anyone to the resort!!!

horibble place”

cleanliness out. no wifi. swimming pool dirty. infront beach. at night,no activity u can do here. staff really dispointed me. i call 3 times to clean my room,but no one has coming. smelly apartment. really need upgrade their facilities,look like u at 2001-2002 when u arrive at this apartment. Cherating really need upgrade their beach. example like koh samui and bali.

Improve the facilities”

The room are very big but the toilet seem not function well. Also no in room telephone so its difficult to call receptionist to request something. Need to walk quite far from room to the receptionist. At least put 1 telephone in every level or 1 in every block.

Need Major Improvements”

This resort required major upgrading and improvement on basic facilities and room refurbish. Furniture, toilet fittings and overall room interior need major improvement as the fittings too old and not in good conditions. Room is too smelly from unknown source, water supplies also smelly.

A pretty overpriced stay”

I booked the resort at the last minute as it was pretty unplanned holiday. The room key with its attached keycard could not be slotted into its port to activate the power supply to the apartment unit. My family and I had to wait and sweat in the room before the maintenance guy came and replaced the key. Upon checking out I was made to pay for the faulty keycard which was given earlier in already faulty condition. Luckily the complaint got heard and I wasn't charged. My kids weren't impressed with the hotel and I won't come back to this resort again.

Spooky”

There should be extra lock from inside. Soley depend on unsecured lock like existing is totally not safe. Hotel should provide ceiling fan at living room. at least 1. i'm not taken any hotel food and just met front desk for check in and check out. no other option to select.

1st and last time staying ”

The apartment was ok. bedroom with 2 beds the beds is already broken in me end my sisters had to sleep downstairs.master bedroom air con no remote. Given only 2 towels asl for floor.mat never came. master bedroom shower very slow called for tech never came.

Room are too old & not well maintain,no hot water for shower,young children get sick after take a bath with cold water.Breakfast was not ready until 9am but voucher mention that it was start 8am until 9am only.

Perfect Relaxing Beach Front Resort for a Good Rec”

This is a very Unique Beachfront Resort with own private island & fishing river, perfect for outdoor nature holiday with family stype Home Warm Apartment Concept; I also like their Food & Eatery Selection, especially the seafood BBQ by the Beach ! Will certainly come back again & recommend to friends and relatives !

Great To Be Back Again !!”

I return back to Sanctuary Resort Cherating as I had a Very Good Impression of this place and had a Very Relaxing Stay on my Last Visit and I needed it again very badly on the ending part of my travel in Malaysia. The Overall Hotel and Operations have improved a lot since, as evidenced by their many added business coming back.... and I am most impressed by their special Holiday Seasons decors and excellent Festive Foods provided during the period of celebration ! I appreciate them staying close to the culture of Malaysia, my Flying Color THUMBS UP !!

Nothing much to say...”

Very bad because.... 1. No light along corridor until we highlighted to the management 2. Nice pool but no towel and life guard 3. Got shop but not open 4. Restaurant closed 5. Surroundings not clean, leaves every where 6. Room door broken but managed to repair after we made complaint

Great time spent at this resort.”

Fast check in. Toilets worked well. Rooms cleanliness fair. There were 2 toilets but 1 of it's water heater is spoilt. My room's TV didn't work though. Pretty quiet the whole night. Better have a big group in the room or it might be pretty scary in the night.

Consider tolerable for a one-night stay”

We booked for a 3-room apartment with kitchen as it was a family gathering. Overall we felt this resort was overpriced for the kind of room quality. The interior and furniture are old and level of cleanliness was below average. The kitchen comes with no utensils and whatsoever. The only things provided were empty cupboard, fridge, washing basin and a microwave. Do bring your own cutlery, utensils and even stove if you intend to cook. Thanks goodness we anticipated the worst and we brought all necessities :) The only thing we were grateful for was the great view facing the sea from our 4th floor balcony. There are only 3 blocks in the resort and hence not crowded at the beach even though we were there during public holiday. Do not expect the beach to be fantastic with white powdery sand. But since it was just a one-night stay we have no complain about that. At least we still get to enjoy the sea breeze and listening to the soothing sound of sea waves. Oh there's a rather small swimming pool at the resort which can be of great fun for kids.

Old furnitures, Unclean beds and sofa”

The stay in Sanctuary Resort Cherating is the most terrible experience in my life. It is not worthy at all. They charged a high price for the 2 rooms apartment with old furniture. They should upgrade their rooms and services. The staff there are blur and not attentive to customers. Will not recommend to friends.
