After staying in some very questionable hotels in Europe as soon as we walked in the door at The Box House we knew it was going to be a great stay. A beautifully presented boutique hotel with a spacious, spotlessly clean room with good amenities. The staff were very helpful and the free shuttle for the local area was great. Not far to the ferry berth that takes right to the heart of Manhattan. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, we loved it

Staff at Box House were really friendly and helpful. Loved the hard wood flooring in the rooms - so much cleaner than normal hotel carpeting ! Room was immaculate , good sized , very quiet and had great decor. Gym and sauna were great !! Safe neighborhood for walking

Wonderful location in Greenpoint and staff could not have been nicer. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the wonderful roof top restaurant and lobby lantern tavern were not available.

Classy, friendly, great value for money”
It's a lovely walk over Pulaski bridge to get an easy subway into Manhattan. These guys have chaffeurs who will drop you there for free! The same hotel would be more than double the price in Manhattan. The neighborhood is vibey, there's a full gym and sauna at the hotel, our view was amazing of Chrysler building and Empire State. Staff are all real friendly. Can't wait to come again!

My trip to NYC ”
We were impressed with the Box Hotel as soon as we walked in the lobby doors. Beautiful decorations and friendly front desk staff. There is a restaurant on site, there is free parking on the street. Once we entered our room, it too was equipped with a full kitchen, comfy bed and sofa bed. Lots of lighting and seating even while the sofa bed is in use. Enough mirrors, strong water pressure in the shower. Only thing is the location is about 15-20min walk to the nearest subway. But you can request a shuttle pickup and drop off in a 1 mile radius. Within two subway stops to 5th Avenue and times square. We enjoyed our stay.

Good to get out of Manhattan ”
Before I booked my trip to NYC, I read that I should try and book a 2 centre location, not just in Manhattan, so decided to try the Box House. So glad I did. Great value for money, great staff and nice size rooms with views over to Manhattan. Nice bars and restaurants just around the corner on Manhattan Ave and only 10 min from a couple of Subway stops. one with 2 stops to Grand Central, so always easy to get around. I will certainly look to stay here on my next visit to NYC.

A lovely hotel with some really interesting features. Staff were great, particularly Felix, and all were keen to help you enjoy the area. We had a duplex which I would recommend with kids. Easy to get into Manhattan but also lots of great streets to visit nearby in Greenpoint and Williamsburg.

Value for money, nice and clean room”
The hotel was about 10-15mins walk to the nearest subway to mid town Manhattan and had some nice cafes, restaurants in the nearby streets. Staffs were friendly and helpful and the room was nice and clean. Perhaps it’s due to COVID or the holiday season, the restaurant was not open. The decor of the lobby looks interesting and welcoming. Overall a pleasant stay!

Although the staff were wonderful and the facilities were adequate - THE room was ICE cold. So much so that even the heating could not warm it and that proved quite challenging for me. I had to request blankets in order to stay warm while in the room! The walls were super duper thin so privacy of any audio nature was null and void. Any noise in the hallway proved particularly loud! Hard to rest/sleep. There is no food facility i the restaurant so you will have to order out. The subway was a good walk away. NOT as convenient as I would have liked and definitely NOT downtown Brooklyn as advertised. I ended up getting an Uber most places. During the day I walked to the subway but I didn't trust late night arrivals to the neighbourhood, although it felt mostly safe. If you area solo female traveler and you want a downtown stay. Look elsewhere.
