We could not fault this hotel. Excellent facilities. staff, food and location. A most enjoyable brea”
Location, staff, friendliness.
Lovely Hotel, great staff”
Well situated hotel a short walk away from the Cathedral and sitting on the banks of the River Avon. Our room (20) was spacious and extremely clean and comfortable with a nice view of the river. The staff were welcoming and helpful and we’d like to make special mention of the barman - who told us about his experience nearly being locked into Cathedral close. A delightful and positive young man who like his colleagues are a credit to the hotel. Only minor niggle is their policy on breakfasts. This quality of Hotel should really not state that ‘breakfast is included’ and then offer continental only unless you pay more. Just add £5 onto your rates and continue to say ‘it’s included’
Will now use this hotel as disappointed with previous regular hotel in Salisbury ”
Staff very welcoming and friendly. Very clean. Evening meal excellent and service friendly and attentive. Off street parking not mentioned unless I missed it.
Medieval gem located on the banks of the Avon.”
This lodging offered a clean good sized room with a partial view of the river. The bed was quite comfortable and the bath was spacious and clean. The staff in the bar and restaurant were accommodating and friendly. The food was the best we had enjoyed since arriving in England 5 days before. The restaurant included a lovely patio area where we had drinks overlooking the river before dinner. We were able to walk to Salisbury Cathedral, city center, and catch a great tour bus to Stonehenge. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Small but not friendly”
We selected this hotel expecting it to be small and cosy. We booked for August 21st and found the room to be warm in the afternoon. The reception told us that there is no air conditioning and we will have to rely on fans and opening the windows to get through the night! We opened the windows for the night and thankfully no insects entered the room. The shower was hot and the knob could not be adjusted so we had to jump in and out. The problem could be fixed but we believe no one bothered. We were offered newpapers on arrival but was not told there is a charge. Staff attitude were simply poor. Disappointing.
Wonderful ambiance ”
Great room facilities. Lovely view from dining room. Short walk from city centre
We had a double executive room which was quite small but very comfortable (best bed we've slept in, on a 6 month around the world journey. View of Salisbury Cathedral and Avon River was spectacular. Only had breakfast (Sunday buffet) so really not qualified to comment on restaurant and service. Somewhat overpriced but enjoyed our visit to this beautiful, historic village. Stonehenge is approximately a fifteen minutes drive.
Stunning location, friendly staff, great view, bit disappointed with the dessert. But all is good.
A very nice hotel. Lovely gardens and veranda overlooking the river. Close walk into the city centre. Pleasant breakfast with a range of cereals, bread and fruit. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful Salisbury ”
We had a deluxe double room which was large and comfortable with a lovely view. It was a convenient walk to the cathedral and town centre. My only regret is not staying longer. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
We had a great time nd we will be back.
While the location of this hotel is fantastic with stunning river views the hotel stay was rather let down by the food quality. Also having to pay extra for a full breakfast rather than just a continental breakfast seemed rather stingy on the hotels part.
Hotel in a beautiful position”
By and large our stay was very pleasant. Staff were very good and attentive. But a few things spoiled our stay a little. We could not get a decent temperature shower, too hot. There was not a separate shower stall so it was difficult for me getting in and out of the bath ( I recently had an op and currently use a crutch). Breakfast did not include the cooked option, this was an additional cost. Wifi did not work after 24 hours which was disappointing. However, the food we had was good, the room was clean and pleasant to stay in, the staff were very nice and helpful, EXCEPT there was no porter to help with luggage (see above re crutch) and there was only staircase access to our room. Beautiful hotel setting, near (walking distance) to cathedral, river and town but a very quiet area. I said yes, but 4 star is probably pushing it a bit.
Shame about the Breakfast!”
Lovely hotel in a fantastic location, by a river with a view of sheep being fed but only 10 min. walk from Salisbury town centre. Free parking and staff allowed us to leave our car on day of leaving so that we could explore the town centre, shops, Cathedral, etc. Shame our experience was spoiled by the expectation of an English breakfast which didn't materialise! I am always careful to check when booking online that a breakfast is included. If it is a Continental breakfast I expect it to say so. I also have always understood a Continental breakfast to consist of various meats and cheeses, none of which was available. My husband, who does not eat cereal, was left with toast! We were not impressed. I should point out that we were offered an upgrade of breakfast if we wanted to pay another £9 per person!
Great accommodation at a good price”
Excellent location, beautiful views, warm welcome, would definitely stay again
It was great. The garden is amazing and the area quite.
Nice stay for sightseeing”
Resonably priced B&B”
This hotel is an easy walk to Salisbury Cathedral, which is what we went to Salisbury for. They also have a large car park where we left our car while we went out exploring. We were thrilled to look out the window in the morning to see the Avon river and the cathedral. The rooms were comfortable and clean with excellent heating. Our tariff included breakfast, which was in a glass room, like a large conservatory, looking out to the Avon river and Salisbury Cathedral. As we were eating breakfast, swans were swimming down the river, what a delight.
rooms are excellent opening onto the garden and the river avon
