Lovely place and location ”

We had a great view of the harbour and could swim outdoors in the rain in a heated pool near a gorgeous Cherry blossom! Staff was helpful and friendly. Room service was tasty. Indoor pool could be bigger, but ok! Wish I’d had time to try the spa. Was odd that the restaurant wasn’t open on Sunday (but room service was good). Beds are very high off the ground, so if you have children with you, be careful. Overall, I definitely recommend this place!

Nice and Quiet Stay”

If it's you're first time in Vancouver, you might want to consider staying here. It's a bit pricey; but it's very near Stanley Park and touristy Robson and Denman streets. The free shuttle bus to Capilano Suspension Bridge also picks-up at the Westin. We got a harbour view room at the 7th floor which had an amazing view! The only downside is that, if you're not an SPG member, there is an additional charge for WiFi access in your room. We were expecting that for that price, room WiFi was already included. You'll get complimentary coffee and tea (and water). For some reason, our bathrobes were soiled. And it isn't clean as, say, a room at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Our room clock was a bit dusty and so are the ledges. Also one downside is that, there is only half a divider at our shower area -- ergo, every time we take a shower, the outside area gets wet. Buffet breakfast is around 90% the same everyday -- not much choices considering what you're paying for.

Our room was ready, clean, welcoming. The Westin is located on the water, so you can watch the boats from your balcony. There is a "hop on hop off" trolley stop at the hotel, as well as an inner city bus stop within walking distance. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood, with a wide array of ethnic food choices. It is also within walking distance to the best shopping district in Vancouver.

Where Howard Hughs Stayed”

Yes this is where Howard Hughs stayed, but the area has changed dramatically since he felt compelled to wash his hands 100 times per day. We stayed in the original building and I was glad about that. There is also a tower, but it doesn't have that old hotel feel. The lobby and pool areas are very nice. The hotel is situated right at the entrance to Stanley Park so you can bike, run, walk or rollerblade along the extensive Seawall right outside the door. Coal Harbour is the setting for the hotel so walking around this area is always enjoyable with numerous yachts and houseboats docked. There are loads of activities for kids and adults. The downside of staying in an older hotel is the bath, but they did a nice job retrofitting new plumbing. The beds are excellent and we managed to get free wifi since our room was just above the lobby. I wish hotels would work the wifi rate into the room tariff rather than nickel and dime you after asking you to pay C$230 + tax per night. I doubt I would stay here again since it's a bit isolated from the downtown core, but it's definitely a nice hotel.

If you have to survive a 9 hour jetlag it it awesome to lie in the sun next to the pool in the middle of the town.

Hotel was really nice to stay in except the charge of some $26/head for a cold buffet breakfast. Good thing is therr are several sensibley priced alternatives close to the hotel

The hotel has a great location, 15 minutes walk to everything from the peaceful Stanley Park to the busy streets with shops and restaurants such as Georgia, Robson Streets. Very suitable for family with young children as the hotel has spacious lobby and metres away from the Seawall Walk where family can stroll with the children while enjoying the magnificent bayshore view. The only minus point is the room does not have bathtub which young children would have loved to soak in after a day of fun activities.

The staffs at the check-in counters were very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were spacious and clean, very cozy with many TV channels. Pools (outdoor and indoor) and jacuzzi were awesome, with towels ready by the door. There are many restaurants and shops near the hotel, also near the coal harbour, beaches and stanley park. Loved the stay, definitely coming back.

the hotel was amazing, close to everything, empty fridge for your own wine and beer. the windows are actually balcony doors with a railing so its safe. the heated pool was magical and the sheets and bed where epic! i travelled with my sis. loved it can't wait to go back.
