Great Place, Private beach, bad b'fast”
Aunchaleena Beach Front Resort was at the end of a west coast Koh Chang Island which was a very lonely road and quite far from any other beach, 7-11, city life, nightlife, shops, restaurants etc. If you want to go out from this resort, you must have your own car, otherwise you have to spend all your time and money at this resort. Well we knew this, so we had arranged all our food, drinks etc. The food and drinks were overpriced, and the whole place shut down around 10pm. But I must say great place for couple. Resort has their own water fall, which is 200 meters from the resort. You have to go through the jungle to reach to the water fall. Water fall was nice, beach was great, breakfast was terrible. No milk, cornflex etc. Beach bar was nice, but it should open till mid might. Beach Restaurant was good, price was a bit high but ok. Over all the resort was very good if you have your own car.

wow what a resort”
this resort is located in the very south side of koh chang island.the resort is actually the last hotel and resort in koh chang.saying that, once i got there i could not stop admiring the view and the scenery.this place is great for couples ("a couple's retreat" kind of island)and families. once i arrived i was offered a cold drink and many smiles. my room was upgraded (due to low season) and i was given a beautiful room. the room was cleaned daily and well maintained. upon departure a beautiful nice receptionist named teng assisted me to get contact with my ride back to bangkok, all in proffessional caring and friendly manner. (web joked about her being tengmoo which is in thai - watermelon, and me being falang which is thai for guava) the island itself is just a jem.everything you know about white sands, blue green lagoons and romantic adventures is realized in koh chang. i would recommend everyone to stay where i stayed and have a visit in koh chang.

Lovely hotel, different than the hotels we seen”
We booked just a view days before staying in this hotel. We asked for a double bed.The first room we saw were seperate beds, we asked for a double bed. That was no problem at all. We met the general manager, a man from Belgium who was so very cooperate, he helped us and we got a free upgrade for a bigger, whole boat, 2 rooms. The resort has its own beach and is lovely. We came the end of season so we were almost alone in the whole resort. The people of the restaurant were very nice. The only thing they miss is the english language, I (woman) was called 'mister',We spoke with the general manager and did the suggestion that the staff of the restaurant could learn english, there is not enough work but plenty of time.

Large resort”
well, without own transportation of car / motorcycle, you arrive at the end ofthe world. since we live in thailand and already wanted to see/experience the grand lagoona koh chang, we have made it twice: the 1st and the last time. koh chang is rather expensive, and the value you get for your money is in disbalance. breakfast was great. sorry, but we heard only "rusky" language. in a couple of years, this resort will brake down by its own for lack of maintenance.

Hotel with a difference”
Hotel located in large grounds and consists of a number of boat houses around a lagoon. Nice for relaxing onsite with nice beach and complimentry canoes. Some of the facilities were a bit tatty, canoes were chippled and the pool floor lost a number of tiles. A disadvantage was that the songthaw taxis did not come to the hotel. Hence to go to a nearby village for evening one hat to book a taxi at reception costing

Great, friendly resort ”
fantastic resort but it is in need of a few tweeks. the standard rooms are very basic and not appealing to the eye, but the deluxe rooms are great. breakfast service needs to be improved as i often had cold eggs or had to ask for coffee/toast. bar, beach and pool area are kept in great condition. evening entertainment was good, but needs to have more variety. general service was fantastic and the site manager and reception staff were very accommodating. the resort is beautiful and has a lovely atmosphere, with everyone cycling to get from a to b. the bike service is a great idea, but several of the bikes have had their day and need replacing. friday nights the music is played too loud in the restaurant as several couples were trying to have a nice meal whilst people were dancing. i believe this should be kept to the beach bar area or after people have finished eating. overall, i would definitely return to this resort and would recommend it to friends and family. it's a beautiful place and very relaxing.

Peaceful resort surrounded by jungle and sea.”
It's very quiet and a perfect situation for a relaxing holiday. The rooms themselves were clean and the staff were very friendly. You get the additional benefit of free bikes, so that you can cycle around the resort at your leisure. They also have fire dancers each night which was a nice touch. A lovely resort but a little old and tired. The pool was in need of repair and a lot of the properties needed to be tidied up. It says on the hotel description that they have a bath tub, however not in our case which was very disappointing.

Trapped and isolated”
The place is beautiful. The area is quite big BUT the resort is isolated from everything else on the island. So unless you are satisfied in staying on your own beach, eating in the only restaurant they have and listening to crappy dance music super loud in the evenings, go somewhere else. The taxis have a cartel on the island nowadays and the price to get out of the area is around 200-300 Baht return per person. The place in daytime suits well families with small kids but not in the evening when the groups take over the beach for partying. Also the service in the resort is not handled very efficiently. And we also had a big rat living underneath our villa and keeping us awake in the night. I would not recommend this place. There are much nicer areas in Koh Chang.

Private beach, but miles from anywhere!”
I knew beforehand this hotel was off the beaten track having read previous reviews, However this place was miles from anywhere, and no one seem to mention the treacherous roads, everyday I saw some poor tourist layed by the roadside with their motorbike upside down. The hotel itself was virtually deserted, apart from a sprinkle of Russians, who were harmless enough and seemed to enjoy dancing to Russian techno- house at the beach-disco which was amusing. The private beach is beautiful and worth the stay alone, the hotel itself was alittle run-down but ok. The wi-fi didn't work and the restaurant prices weren't as expensive as I expected. I'll stay again for the beach alone, making sure I'll stock-up in the local 7-eleven or Tesco.

Quiet location”
The room was adequate, if a little dated. It's a private resort, any visitors pay 50 baht to enter. Very quiet after 10pm. Would suit those seeking a relaxing get away, far from any noise after 10pm when the only beach bar closes. By Thai standards, the drinks are over priced and expect to pay a third more for a motorbike than elsewhere; I paid 300 baht a day.

Beautiful, natural and quiet surrounding of resort and beach, limited opportunities for food, facilities particularly in bad condition”
Our recommendation depends on what a customer is looking for. At one hand e have been disappointed, that most of the facilities, as for example the pool boat, which is beautifully shown on the website and which we and especially the children have been looking forward to a lot, has been in such a bad condition, that without any explanation or declaration before booking, it couldn't be used and won't ever be usable again. At the other hand we have appreciated the quietness and privacy of the beautiful and natural surrounding of the resort and beach! If somebody likes to stay apart from party people and tourist business, this resort provides the opportunity for a hideaway...

Seems it has changed”
+ nice staff + good Wi-Fi (even on the beach ;) ) + clean room + beach is cleaned every morning The location is a bit remote but a rented scooter for 200Baht a day in Klong Kloi is a good way bridge that gap A bit more variety of breakfast chices would Be nice (3 sort of western style breakfast which i don't need when in Thailand) and just 1 asian-style breakfast (good ricesoup with fish) even with toast, juice, coffee and fruits.

In the hill you always have something incredible”
My big family consist of my grandpa, mom, dad, me, my elder sister and my little brother. Everybody like the sevice and the place of the hotel very much except bad transportation as my grandpa is too old to travel for a long time but if you are honeymoon couple or friends, I think this is fun.

Not satisfied at all”
We would definitely not recommend this Hotel. The first problem occuring when you arrive is that the hotel is so far away from the pier that the taxi drivers do not know it or charge you a really high price to get you there. Especially when you arrive with the first ferry in the morning it is expensive to get there. We booked the Seaside Villas and expected a nice apartment close to the beach. It was close to the beach but not nice at all. There were holes in the wall and mould everywhere in the kitchen. We soon decided not to stay in this villa, so we called the reception. They sent us someone to show us the other villas so that we can choose (it was low season, we stayed there 1 1/2 month ago, so they weren't booked out). But it did not get better in almost every villa there was some mould or other dirty spaces we did not want to stay in. They also offered us a room which actually is cheaper than the villa (boat bungalow or sth like that) without offering any discount on what we have paid like free dinner or sth like that. At the end we found one villa which was moderate to stay in. But we waisted a lot of time and nerves with that. Breakfast is included, but it is not good. You have no choice at all and if you order from the menu the answer is most of the time "no have". Why is there a menu in the first place?! The same with dinner. It was overpriced on not good enough for the charged price. Good things were the nice beach which is directly in front of the bungalows, free bikes and the nature around the "resort" The staff is polite but does not speak english at all, what can be pretty annoying when you have to change rooms and solve out problems. All in all, definitely not recommendable!

NIce location, cool houseboat but expensive ”
the resort was way at the end of a very lonely road and quite far from any nightlife, shops, restaurants. that meant you had to spend all your time and money at their resort. the food and drinks were overpriced, the service average and the whole place shut down around 10pm. it got very lonely there after dark. they overcharge for basics like water making you feel a bit trapped. for example, they have a little shop in the main reception hall where they sold bottled water-for the same price as they were selling it for in the bar. about 4 times the retail price in town. there were several problems with my room which they did eventually sort out.

Nightmare on Koh Chang”
Place has seen better days. They changed the name to Boat Chalet but only have signs for old name Grand Lagoona which was a nightmare trying to find in the dark. Beautiful location but difficult to get to. Also there are no signs for anything on the grounds. Go somewhere else is highly recommended.

Place is good, price is reasonable, food is ok, service is nice but little difficult in transportation.

Good scenery but very far away from the pier”
This hotel is located very far away from the pier and the entrance should be improved by expanding the road to be wider (at least 2 lanes). However, I like the scenery because this hotel is close to the beach. The rooms were a bit old but necessary facilities were provided.

Bad management, dirty bad service”
Most rooms are built around the hull of a boat, sonme rooms are old fishing boats and some are wooden houses. Most are very delapidated and need knocking down. The rooms on large boat are small and hot. The only rooms worth staying are Chom Napa and they are charging over for these! Brakfast is appalling, staff speak very little English and 80% of guests are Russian!! The only person woth speaking to to get anythig done in the hotel is in reception, she virtually runs the place. We tried to complain about many things to the manager and told her to sort it out as he doesn't speak English.

Great location and nice beach”
this resort is perfect for honeymooners especially if you're russian as nearly everyone there was russian. they didn't speak a word of english but still managed 2 have a game of beach football with them and one of the girls kindly rubbed suncream on my back as i'd run out and couldn't get any more 'obviously i enjoyed this'! anyway make sure you lock everything away in the safe provided as i had my help for heroes band stolen by the cleaners so watch it!
