Getaway to a quiet beach”
We chose the Koh Chang Paradise Resort because it looked like a quiet, restful place about half-way down the island and we were very pleased with our choice. We were there out of season and practically had the beach to ourselves. The resort's pool was pleasant. The resort is right on the beach. The spacious and clean bungalows are set in a garden with a lot of trees and bushes, although only a few bungalows actually have views of the beach. Each bungalow has a veranda with a couple of armchairs (and mosquitos). For some reason or other, sunbathing on Klong Prao beach is not allowed. There are a few small businesses and places to eat along the road near the Paradise Resort, but this is not an area for those who like to browse in shops and markets. The staff was always very gracious and helpful. We ate only Thai food during our stay, and thought the open-air restaurant was very good both for breakfast and dinner. A couple of times, just for a change, we took a short taxi ride to eat at White Sand beach, which is a much livlier place.
Really nice bungalows on a paradise beach ”
we had a very nice week. koh chang paradise resort is on klong prao beach inbetween the more busy lonely beach and white sand beach. the bungalows where very clean and comfortable, including very nice shower and restroom. we had a beachfront bungalow, fantastic view. they used mosquito detergent so we had no problem with that, until we had a dinner on white sand beach where we got hundreds of bites although we used spray. the thai fun boat picked us up at the beach for a days snorkling and swimming, nice lunch, coffee and service. very good value. hiking was good in the south, but 7 hours is a bit much. elephant ride was ok. we also did kayaking for a couple of hours, also nice but the kayaks are pretty heavy, and koh yaek was further away than we thought. koh chang is beautiful, and if you go there i can really recommend koh chang paradise resort and span.
Quiet, tropical, relaxing bungalow resort”
We stayed for 6 nights at Koh Chang Paradise Resort over Christmas. We had booked a garden bungalow but our bungalow was located only one row back from the beach so we could see the sea from our balcony and were only a few steps away from the sand. The room was a little dated in terms of decor but it was very clean and comfortable with fresh white linen and dark wood floors and furniture. The bathroom was huge with a large open plan shower with a tropical garden in it! My only complaint about the bathroom was that it smelled faintly of urine for the entire week we were there. It was strange as the bathroom was very clean but I wonder if it was an issue with the drains. The resort is on Klong Prao beach which is a beautiful white sand beach with clear water and fringed with palm trees. The resort has hung swings from the trees so you can swing out over the water. The swimming pool is on the beachfront and it's sparkling clean though we spent most of our time on the beach. Buffet breakfast was sensational with every possible dish you could dream of for breakfast! We only ate at the resort once for dinner, the food was delicious but double the price of the food on the main street, just a 5 minute walk away. We really liked a little restaurant called Chill Chill, authentic, cheap and delicious Thai food cooked with love by the owners. We'd definitely stay at this resort again next time we visit Koh Chang.
A lovely place to stay, especially for families”
This was our first visit to Koh Chang and we loved the Koh Chang Paradise Resort. Travelling with 2 small children, we needed somewhere easy to stay and for the kids to have room to play. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed in the bungalow. They did actually offer us a free upgrade to a larger room, but we wanted to be on the seafront so chose not to take the upgrade. We had a beachfront room at the very far end of the resort, which meant we had the beach to ourselves but it was a bit of a walk to the pool and the restaurant. Luckily the resort is very buggy-friendly so our toddler could be pushed around easily. The tide was quite high in the mornings, so the kids loved to play in the children's pool, then played on the beach in the afternoons when the tide had gone back a bit. Restaurant was very good and reasonable prices. Breakfast was good considering the price was 150 Baht if you don't already have it included in your booking.
Koh Chang Paradise Resort”
I would recommend staying at the Koh Chang Paradise Resort. I initially stayed for the first 4 nights in a seaside bungalow which was a few steps from the beach. Although the weather was no good (monsoon) whilst I was there, I decided to stay another few nights and had to change rooms so I stayed in a deluxe garden bungalow which was also a few steps from the beach. Both of the different styles of bungalows had king size beds, full a/c and big bathrooms. Both were extremely clean and were fully serviced each day. The hotel staff, particularly in the dining room during breakfast and on reception, were very nice and always smiling. Taxis are always waiting out the front of the resort to get to any other section of the island so transport is easy to come by. I would definitely recommend staying at this resort but make sure you go during high season and not monsoon. It didn't stop raining for the entire week that I was on Koh Chang!!
A good place with friendly staff beyond your expec”
This is the second resort we stayed in Koh Chang. A resort with very spacious compound with its own beach located in Klong Prao. This is the FIRST resort i ever come across that prepare everything heartfelt : even the bath towel was treated with aromatherapy ! and they have friendly staff that beyond your expectation. I can see that the resort will clean up their beach front, and install some pendulum swings hanging down from the big tree, for kids of even adults. What i would like to suggest is the mosquito control, but just be fair its quite a hard job in asia. Overall, i was impressed and thats really one of a good resort i ever stayed and highly recommended.
Koh Chang Paradise Resort”
If you are looking to relax at a really nice resort in Thailand, go to the island of Koh Chang and stay at the Paradise Resort. Picture in your mind what a resort should be, and Paradise Resort is it. From the moment you enter the grounds, you will know you have chosen the right place for your vacation. The beach is postcard perfect, warm water, with beautiful view of off shore islands. The resort is modern, extremely well maintained, with individual bungalows nestled among the palm and jasmine trees...The staff is very friendly, the food is excellent and affordable, great hot breakfast buffet included in price, and you have close and easy access to whatever activities you care to do. Elephant riding, scuba and snorkeling, motor scooter rentals, food shopping, expresso bars, ATMs are all close by. The island even has the ubiquitous Irish Pub and Guinness if you like that sort of thing. Go on line and check it out. You will find it is even better than it looks like online. Highly recommended!
If you like staying next to the beach .......”
We stayed at Koh Chang Paradise Resort in June 2008, stayed in a superior beachfront bungalow, with two adults and a 3 year old, with our own transportation. Room was great, not the biggest room but perfect for a beach holiday, they also have some deluxe beachfront bungalows that have larger rooms. Room had a Big TV, great bed and large bathroom, the best part is having only the grass and palm trees between you and the beach. Swimming pool was great, spa massage excellent, restraunt was breezy and reasonably priced for Koh Chang. Would have no hesitation recommending this place to anyone I knew who was headed to kho Chang
Value for Money in Every Regard”
This was like a dream coming true; staying at a place which has best of everything to offer which you would be thinking while making a booking. Its located on the main road, which is a big plus knowing that this is a beach resort. Has a quick, responsive, responsible, amiable staff which will go out all the way to make you feel special. The hotel will make every effort to not to let you feel bad about your decision of choosing this as your place to stay. Has one of the best beaches with an amazing view. And possibly one of the cleanest in Koh Chang with beautiful clear water as we happened to stay at a neighboring Four Star, just after this and except for a resounding name it was a sheer contrast to our earlier experience at Paradise Resort. The room service was punctual, regular and proficient in their work. Food at the Hotel's restaurant was of very nice quality (if not the best) since we are no Thai so really difficult making a judgment for us, but were comprehensively satiated by the sumptuous food available at a good discount. There were some renovations going on at the children's pool next to the adult pool which was in proper working. Will definitely recommend this place to all our friends. We will miss you KCPR till we meet again. Well done to all the people making it happen and keep up the good work! Bravos!
A small paradise on Ko Chang”
We had and excellent stay at the Koh Chang Paradise resort. The staff was very kind, helpfull. The bungalows are very nicely positioned so you have enough privacy without having peeping-tom's constantly look what you're doing. The pool area is very nice. The sunbeds are good, the pool is very nice. The restaurant near the shore is very romantic! And the food is really good. You'll have a great meal for sure. For breakfast you'll have a wide choice of food. You can have Thai food for breakfast or a continental one, whatever takes your fancy. I absolutely recommend the Ko Chang Paradise resort. You won't be disappointed.
Renovation well done”
Stayed at the resort two years ago, our bungalow this year was freshly renovated, offers now a spacious bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. The resort area is nice and clean, everything in walking distance to the beach (no streets to cross). Very suitable for families with young children. Great pool, good restaurant with very reasonable pricing. However, the Klong Prao area where the resort is located does not have many restaurants and bars, getting around requires the use of taxis (which always wait outside the resort). This is not really a "minus", just something to be aware of. All in all this resort offers very good value for money.
Relaxing time in beautiful surroundings.”
I originally booked a Superior Beach Front Bungalow, but was phoned up a day later to be informed that due to renovations that option was no longer available. I then decided to book a Superior Garden Bungalow. It was one row back from the beach and just fine even though slightly smaller than the Beach Front option. The buildings, pool and gardens were well maintained and each bungalow had its own raised veranda and seating area. Breakfast buffet was mixed Thai/western, although there were a few strange options ie spaghetti bolognaise! The pool wasn't massive, but we never found it to be crowded and there were always plenty of free sunbeds/sunshades available. The hotel had mopeds available for rent, I rented ours for the week and obtained a discount. The travel office in the hotel also organise the usual trips and kayaks can be rented on the beachfront. There's a plenty of shops and a couple of shopping plazas just north of the hotel within walking distance. VJ Plaza has quite a few decent looking restaurants serving Thai/Western and Italian food. I'd recommend the Koh Chang Paradise Resort and would go again, however next time I think I'd try and book early and pay extra to get a Superior Beachfront Bungalow.
Quiet, Great location, Helpful Staff”
We had a very pleasant state at Koh Chang Paradise Resort, The location was one of the best places on the Island, right on the sandy beach, centrally located and yet very quiet. The staff was helpful attentive and promoted a relaxing friendly attitude at all times. The buffet breakfast was very good with changes in the menu from time to time. We stayed a full week and never felt bored with the menu.
Quiet bungalows set on a fairly nice beach”
When writing about my time in Paradise Resort, I can't help but to mention that the staff was friendly. I was supposed to tip them after my stay. They were helpful and friendly at all times and carried our luggage to the bungalow and showed us the room. Note that after this I stayed in Millennium Hilton in BKK which did not offer the service in question. The biggest pro in my opinion however was the breakfast. It's been a while since I've had such a good breakfast in a hotel. I can't complain about anything. Both the western and the Asian influenced foods were good, the coffee was great (which is rare in Asia to my experience) the omelettes were delicious and it was comfortable to eat yourself full in the morning as usually you had a day's worth of something to do while on the island. The bungalow was nothing too fancy, but just what you need. The resort itself was set on a beach, which is always a bonus and the pool next to the beach was good as well. For the only cons, there weren't too many places to eat nearby. You always had to take a taxi in order to go and have dinner as I usually don't want to eat in the same place twice while traveling. Note that the hotel has a large population of German, Ukranian and Russian tourists and it seems like the resort was more or less built for your average 45-70 year old white couples who come and spend their retirement funds in Thailand. Not for backpackers, but if you need some time in a lazy and cozy environment, its for you. - Good service and friendly staff - Fairly nice bungalows with ok furnishing - Excellent breakfast buffet with lots to choose from
Very good location, right on the beach”
Stayed 2 nights in beach front bungalow. Very clean and nice bungalow. Only problem was toilet, but it was fixed within 10 minutes after we called reception. Agoda claims that it is free wifi at this resort, but staff tell this is wrong. Have to pay extra for internet connection. Mailed Agoda about this but they not take any notice about my complains, maybe they have grown too big?. Overall we loved our stay at this resort and the beach was lovely. Had bad weather in the morning, but sun came in afternoon and that was enough to get a decent tan. Many nice places to eat cheap around Koh Chang. About 35-40 thb for noodles or fried rice with schrimps and egg.
Nice Hotel, Too Many Rules”
Koh Chang Paradise is a nice hotel along a beautiful stretch of beach. The resort is made up of about 50 individual bungalows all within 50 meters or so of the ocean. We visited during the peak Christmas season and the resort was full. That said, the resort did not feel crowded. There were always lots of chairs available both on the beach and poolside. The breakfast buffet is quite good. Lots of choices for children and adults. We've stayed at this hotel in the past and what we noticed this time was that the staff and the hotel itself seem to have become increasingly uptight. There are numerous "rules" posted throughout the hotel grounds, i.e. "guests will be fined if they bring any food or drinks into the pool or beach area", "You have to pay 500 baht if you take anything off of the maid cart", "You will be fined for any towels that are not returned", "Children staying in the room with parents will be charged for towels", etc. Anyway, this is a nice hotel, but they have gone overboard with the rules to the point that it has begun to infringe on their hospitality and borders on nickel and diming. If you stay at the hotel I would suggest dining elsewhere for lunch/dinner. The restaurant food was not great and was overpriced. Koh Chang itself has grown considerably in the last few years and as a result there are lots of restaurants and food options within easy walking distance of the hotel. We hired a car which made it easy to explore the island and eat at other restaurants outside of the hotel. We would recommend Nature Rocks restaurant in the Nature Resort on Lonely Beach. Great food!
I would gladly go back.”
I live in Thailand and have been to Koh Chang many times. I really enjoyed my stay here. I only ate in the restaurant for breakfast, which had a very good choice of food types, and ate lunch on one day as I had my car with me and was visiting friends around the island. The lunch I ordered was Thai food and was authentic and very good. The price was also very reasonable considering that this is not a street restaurant (two dishes, rice and a bottle of water for 240 Baht). We stayed in a deluxe beach front, and I thought it was lovely. It was only 15 metres from my bed to the sea! The swimming pool and seating/relaxing area was very comfortable, and the beach clean. The sea is very shallow by the hotel and you need to go out about 50 metres before it is deep enough to swim, so it would be lovely for a family with children.
Fantastic pool villa and location of the hotel”
Our stay at Koh Chang Paradise Resort was magical. Our pool villa has to be the best accommodation I have ever stayed. As we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary the hotel certainly made our stay particularly special.
Friendly hotel at a great beach”
We stayed 4 nights at this resort in December 2011. The resort is located right at the most beatiful beach on Koh Chang. The beach is rather quiet, which we liked. The place is not too far from the busier White Sands beach. Taxis are readily available costing 50 baht per person one way. The staff at this hotel are very friendly. The hotel has a small shop with a tour agent. We used her services to book all activities we enjoyed on Koh Chang.
Koh Chang Paradise Resort ”
It was the first time I visited Thailand. It was wonderful to see how frendly the reception of the Koh Chang Paradise Resort welcomed us. The personnel of this Paradise Resort is very good selected. Ms Thip in the shop of this Resort was very helpfull when we booked the taxi etc. The private beach and the swimming pool of this Resort are very good, but you have to reserve your sunbed early, otherwise you have no good place. I really will come back to this wonderful Resort!
