Thai retreat
Lovely place nearly of the grid in rain season. Excellent location to revive after hectic Bangkok city life.

Depends what you are looking for
We arrived at Koh Jum Resort and were very disappointed with the standard of the resort. I should have realised from the price that it wouldn't be as good as the photos made it look. They have done an amazing job with the marketing photos on their site, it looks lovely. In reality it is very cheaply put together and lacks any polish. If you are travelling on a budget and are not looking for any kind of luxury, then you will be fine here, but if you like a bit of wow factor you will be disappointed. Also, the road into the resort is a bit treacherous and, apart from walking along the beach, is the only way to get anywhere. So we felt we would be a bit trapped there without anything to see or do. After seeing our room (which was the Grand Beach Front Villa) we immediately started Googling and found a much better place to stay on the island. Far more expensive, but in a much better position and easily accessible, well worth it in my opinion. As I say, it depends what you are looking for, but be wary of the photos. Finally, we only had one bought of illness on this 14 night trip, and it was after having lunch here!

Great views, needs some updating.
Having stayed in some beautifully designed places recently, the decoration was a bit of a let down. Apart from that, the ocean views are lovely. We watched the sunset from the "infinity" pool each night. The beach and water were great at high tide, but at low tide all the rocks are exposed, making swimming tricky. Food was good, not exceptional. Overall, a pleasent experience.

This place needs serious improvements
Staff does not seem to CARE about guests. Food is ok if you order the pure Thai style dishes, but when they serve potatoes with today's special fish it says it all.. Service is non exisiting. Nice island though. Try On Lee a bit further up the beach where food and service is really good.

Koh Jum Resort
Koh Jum resort was great for people who want to get away from everything and just relax! The beach was beautiful, the staff was exceptionally friendly, and the food was also great. I am a vegetarian (who does NOT eat fish) and they were able to still make me yummy thai dishes. They resort next door served better drinks though.

Loved villa but too hot to sleep without aircon!
Lovely as villa 602 with sunken bath and balcony overlooking pool and sea was, we found the lack of aircon a real problem, and to clarify, none of the rooms have it! I was aware that other reviewers found fans and open doors adequate but, unfortunately, it didn't work for us, and the wall fan blew directly onto the mosquito net so it was impossible to use both at once. Luckily, we didn't get many bites! Also, there was considerable screaming from the disgruntled northern European babies and toddlers and we wondered why their parents brought them to such a hot climate. It was so much more peaceful once they'd left. These two things aside, we enjoyed our time lazing on the beach reading, swimming, and sunbathing and loved the resort. The sea was clearest and calmest in the mornings but became choppy and murky later on.

Best Yet!
We truely enjoyed our stay at Koh Jum Resort and Koh Jum Island. The facility and staff exceeded our expectations. We dream of going back one day. The only downside is that the food and drink at the resort is a bit more expensive than other places on the island. We highly recommend a walk down the beach to the "Last Fisher" for cocktails and food for sunset.

Amazing honeymoon getaway
Location, solitude, restaurant
My husband and I found an incredible deal on Agoda and booked the grande beachfront villa (I think that's what it was called). We stayed for two nights and wish we could have stayed for a week. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was delicious and had a good variety of dishes - the thai was some of the best we had in Thailand. Breakfast was also great! The dirt road, although somewhat difficult to travel, added to the charm and privacy of the resort. My family was hesitant about us traveling to such an undeveloped island, but after raving about Koh Jum Resort, they are all eager to travel there themselves!

Simple bungalows with a great location
location/staff performance/quiet
The bungalows are nice with a great location facing the sea but very simple. It is missing some shelves inside if you stay several nights. I also feel that it is overpriced. The food is really good and the staff very professional.

Chilled out escape
Big bungalows..plenty of room and clean..quiet and peaceful location..lie by the beach or by the pool..beautiful views and lush tropical gardens a little bit of heaven
if whatl you want is to switch off and chill out this is the place for you. We loved the place. Staff were very friendly and food was fantastic. Ok so the pool is small...so what?.. you have a huge beach crystal clear water and a view to die for...monkeys on the roof,. 3 foot lizards saying hello and butterflies the size of ur hands. If you can handle the odd mosquito and cockroach.. (it is right in a tropical jungle after all) then enjoy. We will definitely go back. Thanks Koh Jum!!
