With its prestigious location in Trang, right on the beachfront, Koh Mook boasts magnificent sceneries of the Emerald Cave and is one of the last sanctuaries of the Dugong herd. Has awesome pool”
Don't expect to swim on this side of the sea, but the pool would do the trick. You can rent a motorcycle or go to lobby and they'll arrange a taxi. For the money I paid it was worth it because the resort has great facility and food. P.S. Probably the best pool on the entire island
Paradise in remote location ”
Enjoyed our stay here amongst local life. Dirt roads surrounded by locals homes. Very authentic island life here. Staff were nice and friendly, cottage style bungalow in good condition. Resort pool a real highlight and child friendly,as this side of the island is not ideal for swimming due to the shallow water and rocky shore. Overall great place for families So quiet ad relaxed feel.
Great Place for vacation and relax”
-the hotel management very good, polite. room is very clean & tidy. -there provide service for us from trang town to koh mook. (van and board). for 1st timer to koh mook is very easy. -all place can reach by walking or taxi. -koh mook emerald cave is the main purpose for my trip. emerald sea and white sand which achieve the world fame.marvelous natural surroundings, white clean sandy beach, emerald colored sea where every group of tourists will spend some time admiring after swimming through the cave's entrance.
We came here during low season and the staff didn't even expect us. The restaurant was closed and we had the whole place just for us, which seemed amazing at first, but then we realized how decaying the resort was. The floor in the room was very dirty, and almost no water was coming out of the sink and the shower. We swam in the pool and found dead scorpions on the bottom (it's not too bad, since the pool was cleaned the next day). The beach is definitely not for swimming, but still nice. I nearly got attacked by a herd of dogs in the morning, but fortunately a man came and managed to get them away from me. The place is very nice and the staff friendly, but there's a lot of work to do as for cleanliness and facilities. You can do better!
Many insects, lizards and very outdated rooms.”
The pool is good, but the bungalows are awfully old and full of insects.
great staff, quiet hotel”
Great friendly staff, who were really helpful when they realised I had accidentally double booked and offered to cancel one of my bookings even though they didn't have to. Very much appreciated. Staff in the restaurant were lovely too. The grounds were beautiful and very well kept and the pool totally relaxing. The hotel is a little out of the way from the town, but only a tuktuk ride. The beach by the hotel is mangrove and not swimable, particularly when the tide goes out, but with the lovely pool we weren't bothered! Great for a few days stay just to chill out, but no other restaurants around or anything else so you would need to rent a motorbike if you wanted to stay longer. Had a great couple of days stay!
The resort is older and while most things are looked after reasonably well, it could use a bit of anfacelife. Having said that, we were in a pool/sea view bungalow ( a little overpriced) but the view and the scenery was extremly pleasant. The pool is very well looked after and is nice. The breakfast was quite good. The cleaning is a little questionable. I am rating it only as satisfactory because it could use some upgrades for the price. As well, it is about a 15-2 minute walk to the village which is a nice walk however the resort could use some proper signage. The main entrance from the strret should be improved as it is junky and there is sharp barbwire sticking out at the fence.
The resort is older however the scenery around it is beautiful. There are nice amenities however they are all old and many in need of repair. The pool was very nice and well maintained. The breakfast was also very good. The staff was very nice.
You get not what you think to get”
+stuff friendly and helpful +really nice Pool and seaview from There -dirty bungalows, the picture Shows you the very expensive rooms...but you get Different wants: dirty, no Moskito net and not closed : i had a rat in my room!
Nice stay there because of DADA restaurant in neighbours.”
The Ko Mook island is more expensive and very limited in accommodation. The evaluation of the Ko Mook resort saved DADA restaurant and attached resort directly in neighbors, the were really great, their staff was excellent. We eat there very good dishes, we used them for nice long-tail boat trip and transportation to our next destination. The staff of DADA restaurant is helpful and friendly, correct.
strange place ”
on the one hand side nice bungalows, good wifi, excellent pool, but on the other it looks like quite forgotten by it's managment. 5 minutes by moterbike to "city" center, 15 to Charlie beach. if you read the reviews you will find it all true, but it was not that bad - we really like the whole three days on the island.
Loved it! Will stay again!”
It was wonderful! The man working the front desk was amazing and very helpful, all the staff were really! The room we were in was basic, but clean, and LOVED the indoor/outdoor bathroom! The beach is not great for swimming, but since taxis only cost 3 dollars anywhere on the island, its easy to get to a nicer beach...or just take advantage of the pool! I will definitely go back!
Very disappointing, the location must count as one of the best in Thailand but the resort itself is not well cared for, staff plays games and surf internet (facebook) whilst guests are around, general service is not up to standard either through attitude or lack of training, management appears to be non-existent. Breakfast was included but fruit was old/ not well prepared. There were ants and we suspect also ticks. Domestic animals are allowed to roam freely among visitors - should not normally an issue, but these are not well groomed animals, and when it rains, one would prefer not to have the smell around the table. When asked for one of the dogs to be removed from underneath the table, staff requested us to change tables because the dog did not obey ...??
It was magical. We had like the resort and the island to ourselves. I would most definitely go back here it was the highlight of our trip, the resort, the island the tours everything. The internet was not good in the rooms, and the pool was a little dirty and the staff probably less on top of things since it was super low season and like no one was there. We loved it! If you walk through the dirty village a ways, next to the ocean you will see another smaller resort that has good, affordable food, and the lady that runs it is so nice. We had a pleasure speaking with here. There were 4 in our group and we had two bungalows. It was a very nice resort and trip, minis the little mishaps. They were so nice and woke up early and even made us a sack breakfast since we had to catch an early flight.
Lovely Trang island resort”
After a disappointing experience at Koh Ngai we had a very pleasant stay at Koh Mook. This was the cheapest yet the best place we visited! The staff is well trained and very friendly, a good service even at the pool and the espresso of the best quality! The beach could be better, but the pool makes up for that. The pool is well maintained and very clean. The rooms are okay and kept very clean. The menu is extensive and the food of good quality.
Nice bungalows round an excellent swimmingpool”
Tasty food and good massage. Unfortunately there is no beach for swimming in front of the hotel, although the place is very near to the seaside. Good place for canoing, cycling and walking. The hotel has three canoes and some bikes. Possible to walk to a very nice beach, and you can go by taxi (50 baht)to the other side of the island for swimming. Exotic market nearby. The small village consists of hardworking, nice people and a lot of domestic animals.
Good resort but not good beach”
Good service and friendly staff are well take care as I travel alone. The overall quite good at the resort ie room clean, good bungalow ocean view & good staff but only thing cannot fix is the beach in front of the resort cannot swim & sun bath. Unfortunately, i stay during they have some renovation area very few number of guest. The Internet cannot access both wifi & also the computer service at the lobby, cable tv is only few channel available I do not know how the other guests can enjoy their stay while no good beach.
Friendly comfortable stay”
at the tail end of the high season i found myself the only westerner in this hotel amongst very many thai tourist over the thai new year. i never felt out of place though and really enjoyed my stay here.... the resort is on the village side of the island and a trip out to hat farang (on the western side of the island confirmed for me anyway, that i was in the right place for me. .... i was looking for some peace and quiet after 3 months in india!. the food is great. my only suggestion for the hotel is that they could do with some hammocks and perhaps soft cushions for the sun loungers and hard furniture. a very friendly place, great value and a place i would stay again if i find myself in koh mook.
standart bungalows close to the beach unsuitable for swimming. we had a bungalow with fan and an open bathroom- there is a litle of insect. breakfast was poor - served and without soft drinks. i recommend you hire a long tail boat from mr. young and circumnavigate the island and visit a emerald cave. the catering recommend coco lodge - is on the way from the resort along the sea to the pier. close to the pier you can found office.
Nice resort at quiet area of Koh Mook”
The resort is at the east side of the island, take tuktuk 50B per person from the west side. The beach in front of the resort was soso, the receiption girl suggested us go down to the white sand beach after the pier, on the way passed by local fishing village. When we came back from around island tour the next day, we received welcome drinks and hot towel again, which was really nice. And the room was probably the best fan room we have ever stayed, just lots moisquitos in the open bathroom.
