beautiful location maintenance need improvement ”
beautiful bay, beautiful location, very close to the center. not recommend to older people and young kids. a lot of stairs and uncomfortable access to the rooms. a lot of potential to the rooms , it's big enough but maintenance need to improve , the room are not new and need to renovate. the beach is very nice a lot of fish in the bay but again , the maintenance is not satisfy. the stuff nice but hard to communicate becouse their English is very poor.
If You Pay, Stay”
Having already been in the habit of travelling these islands via scooter, a resort like this is a welcome rest if you've been back packing Its a little far from the action, and a bit of a nightmare climbing the mountains on scooters but staff are incredibly helpful and flexible with regular shuttles to and from huts, to reception, to the pier. If you're treating yourself to a couple of nights, highly suggest just bunker down and stay there. there's free snorkel gear and beautiful private Jameson's bay. and room to snorkel from your bungalow. Restaurant and Elvis bar, while a bit steep on price, are nice and a good way to treat yourself (especially those pina. coladas!) Sunsets a treat from our Bamboo Hut and a perfect way to say goodbye to Koh Samui with your partner by your side
Stunning sea view from the room. Boutique and one of a kind resort!”
Stunning sea view from the bed. Clean and comfy room, nice shower, boutique decor. Jansom bay (private little beach of the resort) has everything you need - lots of fishes, small coral, yummy restaurant on the beach. However you need to climb up and down hill/stair to walk around the resort. But the view is worth!!
stunning view and good service.”
I went to this resort last year. the resort was beautiful and stunning view. there is the private beach named "Chansom". It's small beach but quiet. if i go back to the Koh Tao. this resort is on my list for choose to stay again.
great snorkling spot and great food. ”
we had a wonderful stay, the hotel is build on the rock so there is a lot of hiking on this trip. plus size we get to do exercise everyday which is nice. our room is fantastic we can get out the room and snorkling right by then. we have had a great visit.
Great view but too many insects at night”
Love the view and the easy access to diving in the sea ..bad things are hundreds of insect came into room at night and we have to sweep it away and stay in the dark to let them leave, and too much steps to reach the room
Great location, poor service”
Loved the room location, but staff were unskilled and unresponsive. Ate at the restaurant, many items on the menu were unavailable even though the place was completely empty. The waiter did not speak Thai or English very well. The entire staff left the restaurant before we finished without a word. The rooms are pretty far from reception, but when we asked for helped with our bags upon check out, we were told there was no one available.
Beautiful property and location, slightly ruined by weather”
The bamboo hut we stopped in was lovely from the inside, but maybe a little aged from the exterior. Is approximately 20 minute walk through the jungle to get to (so make sure to wear mosquito repellent!). Unfortunately, the weather was horrendous during our visit and therefore couldn’t make the most of the views we were given. We also came in low (tourist) season, and unfortunately couldn’t find anyone to rent a kayak, which we were informed by reception staff that we could do. However, given the weather I was not surprised of this. I think if we visited in high (and dry) season, then the money would’ve been 100% worth it, but the weather and deserted facilities let us down and probably wouldn’t pay that price again for this time of year.
Heaven on earth ”
You felt really alone with the sea and the nature in your caban the bamboo. The bad room is half in the open air and very nice. The bed is like temple in the house when you like romantic little houses you have to go there.
Stunning views from the rooms. Very spartan quarters with minimal towels and toiletries but they are trying to save money on laundry so it makes sense. You have to walk up and down concrete steps and ramps so if you are physically challenged this is not for you otherwise you will get a lot of exercise. They will shuttle you to and from the huts to reception. Beach on Jansom Bay is sandy and secluded and snorkel and masks are no charge for guests and you can dive right from shore altho coral is pretty damaged there are lots of fish species. Starlight restaurant had delicious meals- some of the best Thai food on the island. 10 minutes walk along paved path right into Mae Haad. Staff were exceedingly helpful. If you pay for extras with credit there is a 3% charge. Balconies of the huts have recliners and platforms with cushions. Large fridge in room and TV and DVD/ radio.
Dreamy stay at this fantastic hut!”
When we arrived the room was not ready so the hotel compensated with a complimentary voucher as a lovely apology. We love our room so much with an outdoor shower under the stars, also special space on the rock for sunset yoga. The resort has a private beach with kayak and snorkel services : ) Dinner and breakfast were very chill. We will definitely come back! Recommended for an uber-romantic hideaway! ♡
Super friendly stuff! The hut is like a dream came true!”
Being in middle of the jungle on the sea was a fantastic experience! Even if the restaurant is a bit further away it's nice to walk and they even send a taxi for free on request. The only thing I missed was a hammock. Nevertheless: great experience, good price and I would definitively recommend it and I will come back :)
Everything closes at 10pm”
This was the most disappointing yet beautiful places we stayed at. We had to hike about 10 minutes to our rooms. The hut and the view were SPECTACULAR! But the restaurants and bars on the facility closed around 6/8pm and everything was closed by 10pm. We had to walk close to 30 minutes to get out of the facility and everything near by was also closed. When we were checking in, this was not communicated to us.
Cannot fault this place! The bamboo sunset room was perfect with a spectacular view! You get your own private beach which isn't too busy and the water is just perfect! Breakfast was great with a generous variety and the staff were always willing to help. Definitely would return.
Here's how to have a great experience”
Firstly, all the rooms are great. They are a bunch of high end bungalows scattered along a rocky beach. There are no bad rooms. Second, there are no hammocks. The photo lies. If you can't live without a hammock, bring your own. The resort is owned by Charm Churee village, and you eat and use their reception. It is a very long walk if you take the road, but it is a fine walk if you go down to jamson bay and then up to the restaurant. When you exit to the road, look left and you'll spot a path in the undergrowth with a small sign... this is the better way to go! do not walk the road, it is ugly and takes forever. When I was there, the phone to call a car wasn't working, so if you do want to be shuttled back and forth, call form your room. Do NOT book this room if you aren't in medium shape and if you cannot/do not want to walk a lot of stairs every day. Because all the room require a lot of stair climbing. There are too beaches, as other reviewers said. there is Jamson, which is a great beach for kids and folks who want to sun themselves and drink beer. There are some fish, but the coral is pretty much shot. The other beach, Sunain, is a longer white beach with no beach chairs, a tricky to find little restaurant (it is there though!). The coral is pretty good on the right side near the rocks. It's a longish but completely survivable walk there, and well worth it. Finally, right beneath your hut is a tiny bay full of fish and coral, it's just hard to get to. Go down between BB13 and 14, and be very careful getting in and out. This was the only way I could find that was reasonable to get it without getting scraped up by rocks. Only go when the water is calm. You'll be rewarded by some gorgeous coral and fish, which is getting too rare on Koh Tao. Don't forget, never touch the coral, it kills it! Breakfast is indifferent, the usual buffet and an omelette bar. I wish they'd have jook every day, it was pretty good. The walk to reception may almost kill you, but the w
An adventurous stay”
Nice resort with private beach where u can snorkel and swim, the room is a bit old and too many steps walking up down the hill. Staff are not quite helpful and the food is not good for value. There was a weird strange sound at nighttime and feel unsafe.
Paradise on earth ”
5-star for service. I had the best stay here. The staff was absolutely accomodating. I didn't like the first bamboo hut they put me in so asked for a change and they let me move into this gorgeous hut with panoramic view of the sea. Ask for BB7, it's the best hut. The open air shower can get a bit chilly at night. There's a big lizard that lives nearby and would come out to eat leftovers if you leave them outside. I have to praise the staff again for arranging my transfer to the pier at 5am in the morning. The steps are a bit of an exercise but the view was totally worth it.
Great Rustic Place!”
They are not lying when they say rustic, there are bugs and the rooms have AC although they are not sealed so it never fully cools. Amazing view and great beach! Food was wonderful, perfect place for a secluded getaway but only a 10 minute walk from town.
The view from the room is great but the staff and the whole hotel is somehow in bad management. The food was bad and expensive. Walking back and forth from room to reception will take about half a kilo climbing up and down, not suitable and comfortable for olders. Poor phone signal and poor internet connection. Not much activities to do.
Gorgeous views! Separated from amenities.”
While we love the views and the privacy of the room, the resort amenities or at the neighboring Charm Churee Resort, and are a very long walk or a climb and a car ride away. Go for the views and the seclusion.
