Acceptable”
the cheapest place on Tao for a reason; it feels really unclean. I found a used tampon next to my bed. Who leaves used tampons on beds? Really could she not find a bin? The problem is as much the cleanliness of the guests as it is the cleaners. Generally a bit dingy throughout.

kao Tao hostel”
check in, staff.
The hostel is very basic. It is a good 25 min walk from the ferries. night life is very poor except if you head to the beach and walk along to the end you come to the moon stone bar which is on a boardwalk and has live bands every night.

HORRIBLE!!!!”
I arrived at this hostel to find a closed sign on the door and an additional note saying that I could still stay there and a room had been left unlocked and a bed made up. I went in to find the room locked and saw through the window that someone else stuff was on the bed and had taken the key. There was no staff available at the hostel so I checked into nearby Tropicana Resort (very nice and well priced). When I finally got hold of the owner of the hostel she was in Bangkok for the week!!! And refused to refund my money and keep hanging up on me when I was talking on the phone to her. Hideous owner!! You can't expect to run your hostel from Bangkok with no staff!!!

Cheap hostel”
The location, price and curtain to pull across bed for privacy
Very uncomfortable. No blanket and pillow was shocking. Dirty and hardly any tissue roll about. Location not bad, as beach is a few mins and 7/11, food shops all nearby. 1000bhat key deposit, bit excessive. Only one small fan in room. On the plus there is a curtain you can pull across front of bed for privacy

Staff and service really unpleasant...”
localisation, price, quiet
We first arrived and the lady told us we cannot be all in the same room. We claimed we asked for it, and 2 mins after it was possible... Arrived in the room, the lady removed the sheets in front of us "sorry only for AC room, not for you" well..... The last day we asked if we could leave our bags for a couple of hours before the flight "no you canot". Asked for a shower (even offered to pay for cold water) she said "no, please go and never come back" .. That is a shame the service is so poor because localisation and price are perfect for Chalok beach

No ambiance, bed not so comfy, nowhere to sit outside of our beds... Everything was really crowded we would have go elsewhere. if it's your last choice it's ok,

Sketchy”
Location was ok.
No toilet paper and felt very run down & the staff seemed disinterested. Also they require a 1000 bhat key deposit which is very excessive for a "hostel of last resort"

Cheap and in a nice quite area of Koh Tao.”
Price. Location. Staff.
Cheap. Quieter side of Koh Tao, which I preferred. 10/15 minute taxi from the port. Good to meet people. Staff were very helpful. Plenty of shared showers.

Only as a last resort”
Location,
I think the only people who stayed here are ones who had no other choice- I got a dorm bed in an A/C room. Bathrooms are awful (no toilet paper, no towels- not even to rent) and the bunk beds were arranged badly and rusted. Staff were rude and acted as though my presence was an inconvenience. Calling this place is 'hostel' is an insult to hostels- it felt more like a prison than a hostel

Not extremely friendly personnel, but okay. The room with fan is not recommendable as it is way to hot

Clean, quiet, and convenient ”
Air conditioning in my dorm. Good location. Price
The Koh Tao hostel is conveniently located between a 7-11 and a local shop, just off the main road. There is a good coffee/breakfast place across the street and the relatively quiet beach on the south end of the island is only a couple blocks away. It was a great place to start my stay in Koh Tao.

First hostel for me, impressed”
Nice staff, sturdy beds, lockable doors
Nice place, although a bit hard to find without help. Kinda behind 7-Eleven in Chalok. Strong beds, lockable doors, warm water, pretty nice atmosphere, close to a beach, parking for your bike, close to 7-Eleven and restaurants.

it was ok for the money”
it was cheap
The room was small and you don't even get a blanket. Furthermore, you need to pay 50 Bath each day extra for a locker. The bathrooms are really good though: warm water, enough showers and toilets etc. Plus, the hostel is very close to the beach and 7-Eleven, pharmacy, clinic, restaurants etc. I have to mention that they rent motorbikes. The shop is called Owen Travel. A Thai guy is in charge. He charged me a lot of money for a scratch. Even though I was staying in the hostel, he and his brother still tied to rip me off. All in all, the hostel was worth the money, but don't rent your motor at this place. ;)

The hostel is indeed close to the beach, but it is not the good one. It is very far from the main beach and the city. They don't have toilet paper!!

Not bad...”
cheap, clean, not bad location at all
If you can´t make a reservation in a bungalow in other place, this is not a bad option but... seeing other options and prices, this place is the last choice. Maybe the only if you can´t sleep in other place.
