Tranquil Cozy Stay”
The Koh Wai Beach Resort is located on a secluded tranquil part of Koh Wai. The staff are tremendously friendly and try hard to meet your needs. There are kayaks, fishing poles and snorkel gear for rent. The last time I went the staff even cooked the fish I caught. The other food, while fairly pricy, is good and diverse for being on an island. The place seems to attract mainly families and couples, but it is a nice place to enjoy a few drinks right along the peaceful sea. I have been to the resort twice and if I visit Koh Wai again I will be staying at the Koh Wai Beach Resort.

Lovely stay!”
We stayed four nights at Koh Wai Beach Resort with our children, four and six years old. Our stay was very pleasant. This place is rather isolated, a perfect place if you want to forget about everyday busy life. If you're looking for a lot of activities and/or night life, another place would suit you better. For us, this was just right. The coral reef was rather dead (as in most places), but quite a lot of fish close to the beach so ok for snorkelling. Food in the restaurant was a little bit pricey but tasted good. The staff were very nice and service was excellent. We stayed in one of the bigger bungalows (right by the beach) which was airy and pleasant, with a tiled bathroom. Beds rather hard as in the rest of Thailand. As opposed to other places on Koh Wai there are no invasions of snorkelling tour boats, so peace and quite are guaranteed.

Perfect calm and good scenery !”
Perfect for resort island lovers ! If you can not understand Thai language, it might be a little difficult to get there. There is not any explanation where to get off from the boat arriving at Koh Wai. It was a problem because on the Koh Wai there are 4 resorts and separated each other. If you don't know which pier you should get off in advance, please tell to a captain on the slow boat of your resort name. He is kindly call to resort and will arrange a small boat to pick you up and take to the resort.

Untouched thailand like years ago”
Previous reviews need to realise this is a jungle island it isn't a Phuket or phi phi. You will find ants, and the bathrooms do have bugs in them, they are outside but if you want total relaxtion and active walks/kayaks this is the place. We spent 8 days and didn't get bored once. We had been and eaten at every resort on the island. Paradise has the best water/beach. Parang has the best food and koh wai has the best all rounder. The two other resorts seemed good enough but more catering for day trip goers. If you want thailand before the full moon party's or uv paint then koh wai is the place! Thank you to pan and his helpful lovely staff.

Private paradise”
We loved this place! It's a hidden gem on a gorgeous island. We were really impressed with how friendly and hospitable the staff was. Kob chang was congested and noisy but at this resort you'll experience peace and quiet and a wonderful little beach. Our kids had a blast and we were refreshed!

Beautiful Robinson Island away from all stress.”
Had a lovely stay at this hotel. A really Robinson Island, one restaurang and the bungalows right on the beach. The best if you like to get away from all stress. The staff were very helpful and did their best to make you have a great stay. I can recommend this place to everyone.

A pleasant stay at Ko Wai Beach Resort (KWBR)”
The accommodation here is reasonably comfortable considering how small the island is, constraints with water supply etc, though somewhat overpriced at 2400 B per night for a A/C chalet. The beach is white sand and excellent with quite clear water. Small fish teem around the resort's private jetty but there is no coral for snorkelling here. However, a reef runs along the island's northern shore and is easy to swim out to from anywhere along this long stretch of coast, including Paradise Beach. These resorts can only be accessed from KWBR via a half-hour walk on unmarked steep and twisting trail through woodland (don't attempt it in beach shoes and bring a torch if you may need to return anytime approaching dusk) or of course by privately arranged taxi boat (5-10 mins). Some of the food we had at KWBR was great but it is expensive, averaging 250-400 B per dish, as is common in isolated resorts. The owner is enthusiastic, assertive, speaks good English and does well to accommodate people's needs e.g. re boat connections.

Beautiful location but not geting value for money you pay”
We spent here 4 nights. It is beautiful location on remote island, private beach, great for relaxing, canoeying but not nice for snorkeling. No nightlife. Very nice and helpful stuff but only boss speaks english. BUT you are definitelly not getting value for your money. We was surprised when we came that electricity doesn´t work from 9am till 12am and again from 2pm to 5pm. In that time you got no light in hut(they are very dark during the day), air condition, warm water in shower and WiFi. WiFi works only in Lobby, not as described everywhere. And it is not usable as you are not able to even open webpage. Meals and drinks in restaurant are overpriced, on other side of island with same quality you eat and drink 2/3 cheaper. Breakfast is not bad but every day the same, sausage and eggs, two toast and butter with jam. Resort beach is quite clean but the rest of the coast covered with literally tons of garbage, it is really awful. We would recommend this resort if the prices would be half.

Lovely secluded retreat”
We just stayed one night and had a nice time but the room was quite expensive for what it was. It was also very quiet so maybe the prices are more reasonable in peak season. The staff are really lovely and the beach is beautiful.

surprisingly pleasant”
great little paradise for people who want more peaceful isolated "resort". Food was decent, pretty much same menu as any place, reasonably priced despite a captive market, staff were excellent. Owner was very nice.

Great accomodation and very helpful staff. ”
I stayed one night with a friend and had one of the bungalows on the beach. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. Pan, the owner speaks great English which is a bonus. The location is spot on and the small private beach was very quiet and relaxing. I will head back for sure.

Excellent”
Had a great time. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Location was unbelievable. There were only 8 people at the resort during our stay (including us), so lots of privacy. We stayed in the hillside units. They were very basic, but clean. AC worked well, bathroom was clean. Food was good. Overall, good experience.

Great staff but...”
Great staff, really friendly and helpful and tasty food in on-site restaurant. The place have some potential but... Except for reception/restaurant the resort appears to be in different stage of neglect. There is a row of completely abandoned bungalows. The beach was not bad but water is full of huge rocks that make it difficult to swim but are great for photography enthusiasts. While the the food is great and staff is super friendly this will not make up for neglected facilities that are in dire need of TLC and high price for mediocre accommodation.

The setting is really nice. Very relaxing and nice to snorkel , read and have an escape from the crowd. You can also hike to the other resort. The rooms are very basic and the toilet bring some baygon. Friendly staff in a very nice island. Bear in mind only cash so be prepared for the rest very nice for a couple of days

Quiet, pretty but overpriced”
One night we were the only guests there. The next day daytrippers invaded the beach even though the sign said it was for guests only. So when the descriptions say the hotel has roped off an area to keep it private for guests, it's not exactly true. Still was ok though. The room needs a little attention, rotting porches, no mosquito net. Way overpriced for what you get.

Double-faced owner, missing facilities for which I paid, bungalow worth 700THB”
Before we booked this property we called there to ask if they have soft beds. The owner guaranteed they're soft, so we booked a bungalow for 4 nights. When we arrived we realized our bed is Thai standard firm. I asked the owner to give me a softer bed. He agreed with a smile on his face. I asked about missing tv receiver and missing AC remote controller in my room. He answered me I had very special requirements, "ok, I'll organize remote controller for you but if you want to watch tv you need to come to the reception". When I left he started talking with his wfe in Thai "nobody complains like him, he should find any other hotel if he has such special requirements". Besides tv receiver with cable tv in my bungalow as hotel facilities were pointed: - free wifi in all rooms - massage - tours When we asked about a massage he answered "we don't have a massage. People are coming here to relax not for the massage". Next day we asked about snorkeling tour and we got the following answer "if you want snorkeling tour - go to Koh Chang. You can rent a kajak from me for 400THB." Usually being on holiday I don't need nor TV nor wifi but on this island after the sunset there was really nothing to do. During our second night I went to him to say that we cannot relax in there since we've heard how they're talking about me so that we'd leave the hotel tomorrow and it would be good to receive a refund at least for one night. After arguing with me he finally agreed but on the next next day when Agoda contacted him he declined. Fortunately Agoda understood missing facilities problem and I received a gift card worth the total amount I have spent for 2 nights in this inhospitable place.

A place to relax!!”
Fantastic environment. Blue corals and a huge variety of tropical fishes. Very quiet, charming with traditional teak houses and outside showers. Restaurant offers excellent Thai food as well as European food. Great staff, very welcoming. A big thank you to Pan who moved mountains for our family vacation.
