Cute hotel, but far from the action”
the koh chang fasai resort was a pleasant stay for us. the rooms were spacious and very clean, the bed was comfortable. the bathroom was clean and there was a nice drying rack for our wet beach stuff. our room's balcony was very small and not private, but we didn't mind because it was a cheap budget hotel and we didn't hang out at the hotel much anyways. they have kayaks to use for free. the area is very good for kayaking, very secluded with calm clear waters in the bay to the left of the hotel. staff were friendly, and even informed us of the good seafood restaurant nearby. thought this was nice of them because they do have their own restaurant as well. 2 cons: 1) balconies aren't very private, and 2) this hotel is kind of out of the way from all the action. this may not be considered a con for some people, as the hotel is in a nice and quiet area if that's what you're looking for. no beaches to really lay out on except for the one you can kayak to. no 7-11 nearby either, have to go back over the hill. but for less than, this was one of the best budget hotels i've stayed at in southeast asia.

friendly, helpful ,comfortable”
The boss is very helpful, though his English is not good. we changed our trip plan temporarily and have nowhere to stay at first night in Koh Chang, he helped us get a room in a bungalow, which is very nice place with passionate host too. The resort is well painted, warm, comfortable and funny, close to pier. Will highly recommend it to my friends.

friendly staff, mediocre rooms”
not all the rooms at this hotel are on the water/on stilts (there are four that are just regular buildings, one of which was the one i stayed in). the hotel look is definitely unique and a nice change from standard hotels. the restaurant is great and actually really well-priced compared to the more touristy areas like white sands beach. the room itself was just so-so, and i had to ask them to clean the room because the staff forgot (that's a thai island for you, though; very laid back!). the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. keep in mind that if you stay here, you have to rent a bike or take taxis to anything you want to see. although the resort does have its own song tao (truck) with designated times to take guests to white sands beach. the driver gave us his phone number and picked us up a couple of times during irregular hours, free of charge. i would stay here again and i would recommend it to a friend who understands how thai accommodations can differ from western ones.

Handy location - short walk from the boat pier.”
Short walk from boat pier, interesting location along a wooden pier - chalet situated above the sea when tide up. Manager was very helpful and pleasant. Borrowed kayak two days - free of charge with paddles, life-jackets and masks & snorkels. Motorcycle hire at hotel for low price but had a couple of problems; puncture during hire but resort reimbursed us cost of repair. Front brake failed during hire, bit scary but survived. Resort gave us discount on another day's hire. Resort's restaurant closed for our stay but another restaurant very close. Can buy drinks & snacks from resort - not expensive. Ideally need transport if need to go to beaches/shops - but we knew that.

You Get What You Pay For”
Fasai was not what I expected, and if we wouldn't have lost all of our money, we would have switched resorts, but, alas, I'd booked 5 nights. My Mom, Dad and teenage sister were visiting me in Thailand for the first time. This was my first time in the Gulf of Thailand. This resort, or motel, really, is mediocre. It is new, but the plumbing doesn't appear to be- our bathroom smelled like a ripe sewer from day 2 on. The description of this "resort" is deceiving. Overall, it is tiny place on a parking lot and dock. The rooms "on the water" are tiny, and do not face the water. They face the restaurant, which seems to be the main business venue. The rooms were added within the past year or so. The bigger rooms with tiny porches (where we had two rooms) face the parking lot. We ate there only on our day of arrival. The staff didn't even want to serve us lunch, and we got service only because they were preparing for a large Thai party to arrive. This resort would be okay if you have a car and are coming just for the weekend. The staff was accommodating with the free shuttle service, and took us to White Sand when we wanted. You must note: The road to White Sand is arduous, steep, and extremely windy. But we were stuck- either at the resort or at Really, Fasai seems to cater more to Thais. We never saw other farangs at the resort, and some may view that as a plus. Hopefully I can spare you a stay at Fasai Resort. Since it is a fairly new option, there is not much information on it. If the free shuttle service to White Sand and kayak use seem to be a selling point, consider this: You are dependent on the shuttle service, because you must take a vehicle through mountains to the more developed part of the island. You can walk down a short pier or to a nearby beach that is too shallow for swimming. You can kayak around the harbor (only available during high tide.) And in half a day, you will have seen and done all there is to see and do around Fasai on your own.

Absolute gem of a place.”
most of the rooms are actually on the water - about 4 feet deep at high tide. Yes, you do need transport of some kind, but the price here is so low - it paid for our jeep. Because on the water, get no mozzies, cool without a/c on - but new a/c anyway. Relaxing sound of the gentle waves. The best value for money place this holiday. Well done to the designers and hosts. Thanks.

Nice location, helpful receptionist”
nice little out of the way hotel. there are 3 or 4 bungalows right over the water and the rest are on land. my boyfriend and i stayed in one of the rooms that are over the water. it was definitely a unique experience for us. you can hear the ocean underneath you as you go to sleep. the receptionist mistakenly gave us a room with two beds in it rather than one bed, which was fine with us. the receptionist is a very nice kid, and understands english rather well. the restaurant has a gorgeous view of the ocean and the jungles on the island. the food isn't that good... i'd rate it 5/10, but the staff is nice and the service was top notch. the only real con about this place is that its not close to the beaches. the hotel does offer a free round trip taxi to white sand beach, though, which is nice, but if you want to go out at night then you need to either rent a motorbike or pay for a taxi, because they wont drive you out there past like 5pm. (i don't recommend driving yourself into town at night... the road is dangerous! its very steep and winding. if you aren't an experienced motorcyclist you will probably seriously injure yourself.) one other thing... you might get woken up in the middle of the night by monkeys jumping and screaming on top of your hut... the first night we were there these monkeys did just that and woke us up at like 3am.

Tired, but cozy and comfortable”
The rooms are not new, it's true, but it's cozy and featured with aircon and fridge. The pier is okay, you won't fall through the floor, you may not be worried. Special pleasure was free-to-use kayak. We made a short sailing around the bay and were really excited. The only disadvantage that forced me to not to stay here during second trip - bad location. The hotel is separated with a mountain from main part of the Island, so you need to go over the mountain to get to beaches, restaurants and other facilities. It was really scaring to ride back by bike in total darkness on the mountain road. But if you are okay or opposite prefer to stay far from the tourist places - then chose this hotel

Quiet hotel in koh chang”
This hotel is beside the main port on kho Chang for the ferry crossings, so it is easy to get to. It is a bit far from the main area and beaches, but isn't that the whole point in going to koh Chang. The rooms are small but colourful and the hotel has free wifi Internet and free kayak hire and motorbike rental for 250B a day. They had a free shuttle bus to White sands beach. There is a nice seafood restaurant beside this hotel. I would stay here again

Nice and quiet place”
Very quiet place, the staff was friendly, the location is good - 100m from the pier, they have scooters on rent on cheap price or gratis driving to the nearest beach (White Sand). Best value for the money...

A great hotel if you like adventure”
Stayed here in two separate rooms with my parents, who visited us in Thailand from America. They stayed up and watched the sunrise, and we all had a thrill enjoying the high tide come in right under our feet, since this hotel is on stilts. If you expect fancy accommodations, you will be disappointed, as the bathroom offers the bare minimum (hot water included). But if you like adventure and to stay with local, kind people, this is a great, charming place. Five minute walk from the northern pier.

Budget hotel very near main ferry pier”
I booked Faa Sai only for 1 night instead of getting into ride into main beaches and trying to fing a room that night, as my ferry got in at almost sunse. Faa Sai is a simple hotel with some rooms right over the water. Rooms are basic but do incliiue fridge and cable tv. Area is relaxed and quiet and less than 5 mins walk to ferry pier. Staff at hotel were helpful and happy. This hotel is was very basic but clean, relaxed, & happy

Good location but very basic and overpriced”
Good location but very basic and overpriced. Although the location is very good the hotel is very basic and rooms are not very good value, especially the more basic ones. The other 2 hotels are 5 star resorts, but still would say those are of better value since the rooms here do not justify even the much lower price

Peaceful location , poor hygiene in the roo”
Ban Fasai ,situated in a peaceful area, is a lovely hotel. One thing I liked about this place is the serene surrounding. Also, I appreciated the stuffs who were willing to provide their best assistance to reach the customers' needs and to fix the sudden, unexpected circumstance. However, there was this downside on poor hygeine ( there was a crockroch under our blanket. Worse, we found sand on our supposed-to-be-new-and-clean bedsheet.)

lovely and quiet location. well maintaind”
The location is a little out of the way but we hired a bike from hotel to get us around the island. The rooms were great and clean. The man there was really good to us. at the time the restaurant was being renovated. so I'm sure it will look great . it is probably finished by now. overall we loved this island as so much to see and this resort is perfect for peace away from bars.

very nice place”
I spent 5 days in this place. There is no beach, but there are fishing huts and boats, so you can see how the fishermen lived. Staff is very friendly. Every morning they are transported me and other tourists to the white sand beach and take back in the evening - it's convenient )) I like this place ))
