Great, relaxing stay at a beautiful resort.”
We originally booked the "garden view" room, but were upgraded to a Bungalow with garden view, as the garden view room was in a poor state and lacked any garden view. I don't recommend you book that room (and they ought to rename it), but the Bungalow is certainly highly recommended. The remainder of this review will be for the Bungalow with garden view instead. The Bungalow is a great room with comfortable bed and luxurious bathroom that has a large shower area and spacious and deep bathtub. The TV comes with all the usual channels you might like. The resort's breakfast buffet is nice with a good variety of choices. For vegetarians and vegans they have a few a la carte options that they can serve for breakfast as-well, and some of the buffet options are compatible as-well. Be sure to ask the staff so they can point you to the right dishes. Do note that the resort's bread (including baguette) contains milk. Overall we can highly recommend the bungalow room and this resort.

This place is absolutely stunning. It was a nice & quiet change after visiting Hanoi for a few days and before heading on down to Ho Chi Minh. I was traveling with family and we had an amazing time. They have a shuttle that runs about 4-5 times per day taking you into Hoi An or a taxi is about $3 one way. Lynn at the front desk was an amazing host and helped us with everything we needed...booking tours, more water in the room, etc. She was awesome, and all of the staff were really. My only small disappointment was that this is across the street from the beach which I was really looking forward to having a little beach time during our busy vacation and this beach is damaged. it was all sandbags so we opted for a little pool time which was fabulous but still this doesn't have a nice private beach for lounging, you can access it by walking across the street but there's not a sandy beach to enjoy. All in all though the resort itself is amazing and I've never stayed anywhere like it! We l
Dear Meredith Thank you very much for your compliment We hope to welcome you back to discover more about this beautiful country. Our best regards
A wonderful small resort! There were always more than enough staff eager to please to do anything they could for you. Rooms were just as beautiful as the resort it’s self. A very nice relaxing experience. Would highly recommend the spa pool for a lovely spot to hang out all afternoon in the sun!
Dear Bridget, Thank you very much for your compliment We hope to welcome you back in the soonest time Our best regards
Spectacular resort, exceptional service, amazing food ”
The resort is absolutely beautiful. Well maintained and has a plantation Asian vibe. Our room was immense, with a well appointed bathroom and a lovely balcony. The staff all around are extremely welcoming and friendly. They really are concerned that you have the best experience with your stay. The food selection at breakfast is so vast, you have no idea where to start!. They really do make you feel like a welcomed guest. The trip into Hoi An is short, and well worth it. Stunning town. Absolutely would look no further than the Koi, and plan to always make this my home when in the area.
Dear Martie, Thank you very much for your 10 points. We hope to welcome you back to discover more about this beautiful country. Our best regards
4 Bedroom Villa”
The villa comes with 4 en suit bathrooms with individual card access to each bedrooms. Bed is super comfortable. Service staff also very friendly. Only downside is sometimes, the staff forgot to provide bottles of water to our room. But once we called them, they sent it through immediately.
This hotel was probably the best experience I had at a hotel. The morning buffet was delicious, the staff were amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic, two pools, easy ride into town, I got a sweeet, nicely made jacket made through the hotel, that looks very good. Can't say enough good things
Good but not great!”
Had a problem but dealt with very poorly. Facility is very clean, staff excellent, food good but it is a 5 stat hotel that’s what you expect. The way the problem we had was dealt with was very poorly handled. I feel the GM should of done more. We had to change rooms but no upgrade offered, no meal offered not even a fruit bowl in the room as an apology. This is what makes a hotel great the way it deals with unexpected issues. It was disappointing. It is a nice 5 star hotel but it’s not great. It’s the fine details that makes the difference and it was supplied here.
Perfect for a family group vacation”
This place was everything that we hoped for. Smiling, friendly and professionel staff; nice villas with great view over water ways (river or canoe area); great food in both restaurant and breakfast hall. It is possible to take a shuttle to nearby ancient city of Hoi And or enjoy a free bicycle ride. Drivers are much more patient and tourist friendly compared to the hazards of Hanoi or HCM traffic. I recommend a trip a few km to south where it is possible to enter a light house (101 steps) and enjoy a cool drink at the spot where two ferries transport local people across the river mouth.
prompt reply through emails, very friendly and helpful staffs, different free activities for family members (kayak, swimming pool, bicycles, fishing)
Dear Eman, Thanks a lot for taking your time to leave us this review. We’re grateful to you for recognizing our free activities for family members. We do hope you took home many fond memories not only about our resort, but about Hoi An as a whole. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future! Wish you all the best! Sincerely, KOI Resort & Spa- Hoi An team
The resort is very nice .The food is very good
Good choice for relaxing”
This is very beautiful resort, beside the river, near the beach, staff is so friendly, breakfast is delicious. But the room and the bed so small, it's uncomfortable when you stay with family ( 2 adults and 2 children).
A person who is used to having some personal space and who likes to relax in the room at the end of the day may find the rooms too small. I have travelled a fair bit, and I would say the room we had was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in, except in my backpacker days. The quality of the room was great - clean, well laid out, stylish, etc. We just found it tight. We also found the breakfast buffet restaurant could get surprisingly busy and noisy. It seems they allow tour groups to use the restaurant and main pool for a period of time in the morning. We started taking breakfast as late as possible, and that helped a lot. By that time, the restaurant had cleared out and then we could relax and enjoy our morning coffee. For us, everything else was great. We had a really nice time. A highlight was the private spa area at the other end of the complex. There is a pool, cafe and lounging area there, as well as the spa treatment rooms.
Beautiful accommodation, very clean and great location. They offer a free shuttle into hoi an old town and free bikes for you to exolore the local area. The staff make the accommodation though, they are so friendly helpful and always have a smile on their faces. Thank you for a wonderful stay :)
Excellent place but staff lacks the heart”
This place is away from the old town, so the environment is nice and quiet. Pros 1. Massage services at their spa is excellent 2. Good breakfast spread 3. Nice environment with facilities 4. Near to the beach Cons 1. We requested for a room extension on our last day, upon arrival apparently no one was aware and we had to show them the email confirmation. We thought it should have been keyed into the system already. 2. We activated the 'do not disturb' sign on the door, but 2 overly enthusiastic housekeeping staff apparently took it that they had to clean the rooms despite that. 3. Staff at the breakfast place and shuttle bus drivers seem to be inattentive to guests and give off an air of indifference. 4. Booking an appointment for massage at the spa was a challenge, as the counter staff did not understand much English. Overall the facilities and environment is very nice, however, we felt that the staff lacked the proper training. If not for that, this place would be top notch.
Beautiful resort, excellent customer service and friendly staff.”
As soon as you arrived you feel special. All the staff at the Koi so friendly. The 3 bedroom villa is situated in a nice setting. We had our breakfast and dinner at the chopsticks restaurant. Great food and reasonable price. We would come back again to stay in this beautiful resort.
Excellent 5 star Resort”
Excellent quite new resort with various options of accommodation depending on what you are after. two friends and myself were in a 3 bedroom villa with it's own indoor pool, very lovely like our own house, each with separate rooms and bathrooms, open common lounge/kitchenette room & pool room. Staff were all wonderful and the customer service Manager Miss Yummy was an amazing host. Thoroughly enjoyed the time and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. Kind regards, Richard
Christmas in Vietnam ”
Great location, very helpful staff wonderful breakfasts. When we stayed unfortunately it rained a lot, so a games room would have been good. Also perhaps a more frequent shuttle bus service from the hotel to the ancient town. Apart from that I can't fault the Koi Resort, or the friendly staff.
The room is a bit smaller than I expected but it's still very nice. The resort is well managed and the staff is professional. Warning for those who scare of gecko though. Loads of gecko in the resort (for eating bugs and cockroaches).
KOI was the best hotel we stayed at during our 3 week vacation in Vietnam/Cambodia. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great facilities and spa. Amazing breakfast. Restaurant was a bit pricey but very easy to catch a shuttle bus to old town for local foods
Minor issues but fantastic staff, the prices are way too high for food and drink this means people dine elsewhere which leaves the resort lacking atmosphere! Good location outside town but within easy reach of local restaurants and shops
