Great hotel - will keep you coming back!”
i was so happy with our first stay in kowloon shangrila that i booked this hotel in our second trip to hong kong. again, shangrila never failed my expectations. the room assigned to us was just what i requested it to be, great partial harbour view. room (42 sqm) is almost double the size of other hong kong hotels. the front desk even upgraded us to horizon club without us asking, which was a nice surprise. food in horizon club is top notch and plentiful - from afternoon tea to evening cocktails. the night view from the lounge is also fantasic with a colorful view of the hong kong skyline. 12nn early check-in and 4pm late check out was also a great bonus! the hotel is about 5 minutes walk away from avenue of stars, 5 minutes walk away from nathan road, 10 minutes walk to tsim sha tsui mtr station via an underground walkway and 15 minutes away from kowloon star ferry station. location of kowloon shangrila is definitely an envy of other hotels. overall, great value for money for a 5 star hotel in hong kong. highly recommended and i will definitely be back again and again.
Clean and spacious worth the price”
It should be obvious Shangri-La Hotels are not cheap. This one is no different. It is pricey but absolutely worth the price. I have stayed in Shangri-La hotels in 3 other countries. They are wonderfully accommodating and trustable. We have never had a single problem at their hotels. We stayed at Kowloon in Hong Kong and it is right on the harbor as well as super close (walking distance to shopping). There is a subway station entrance on the sidewalk not even ten steps away, making any Hong Kong destination by train completely accessible! Definitely recommend this hotel.
Dear Vanessa, thank you for your great support! We hope to see you again real soon. Best regards, Conor Hadlington, Resident Manager
Perfect location; Remarkable service”
This was my first stay in Hong Kong and I wanted to see the New Year fireworks so I chose the Kowloon Shangri-La based on its location and recommendations from other travelers. The hotel more than met my expectations. The Limo service from the hotel was first class, and when we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the staff. We were immediately led to our room which was very comfortable. I can't say enough good things about the staff. They were extremely well trained and provided flawless service. The one meal I had at the hotel was very good and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend trying the Cantonese Restaurant downstairs. My only nitpick is that the bathroom was a little small, but that is all I can think of to improve. I will stay there again.
Superior hotel with outstanding service ”
once again, our stay at kowloon shangri-la has reinforced our view that although not the cheapest, this is one of the best hotels in hong kong. we were able to get a reasonable rate through agoda and then took up the upgrade offer when checking in at shangri-la. this gave us a superior room on the 21st floor along with cocktails and breakfast. we love the location as well as the facilities in the hotel and have always found it very clean, spacious and very tastefully appointed. nothing is too much trouble for the staff, whom are always polite and friendly. we will stay here again and recommend it highly.
Location, rooms and amenities”
Check-in was smooth, as can be expected with Shangri-La. Rooms were large compared to HongKong standards. We only stayed one night so we weren't able to use much of the facilities but we are very happy with the staff and reception. Location of the hotel is very near the river and lots of sightseeing and shopping around the area. There are a couple of good steak restaurants and bars to always keep things interesting. Transportation was not a problem bec subway stations is just a few minutes away and we can always request the hotel to call us a taxi. The hotel is located at Tsim Sha Tsui area so plenty og shopping to be expected.
Superb hotel in every aspect”
The hotel is one of the best in Hong Kong and I have stayed at most of the hotels. From the moment you walk in the front door, the foyer is very opulent and spacious, it immediately strikes you how clean and fresh the hotel is, the staff are obviously groomed and instructed to pay particular attention to the guests, from opening the doors to greeting you at every level, from the foyer staff, bell boys and staff who take care of cleaning the rooms. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are immaculate. We had a suite facing Victoria Harbour with spectacular views. We had access to the Horizon Club which would be one of the best clubs floors I have ever accessed. There was something available all day long, from breakfast, tea, light lunch and evening cocktails and savouries. The gym was located on the lower basement and was extremely well equipped. The restaurants in the hotel are first class, especially the Chinese and Italian. There are also many restaurant choices in the local vicinity. The only negative was the buffet on the mezzanie level. We went to have breakfast there one morning, and it was fairly crowded and noisy, so we retreated to the Horizon Club. All in all, I would hight recommend this hotel. It is definitely right up there with the high standard of the Shangri La hotels around the world.
I was selected Shangri-La for my boss. He wanted to stay in JW Marriott but when we've arrived at Shangri-La he congratuales me for my choice. I've stayed in a room with harbor view and it was fantastic at night and at dawn. And they have a great massage service with explanation... It was my best massage. At morning I couldn't believe their breakfast, cause in Hong Kong no hotel is giving a service like this. At night in 150 meter diamater you can find best pubs, restaurants and night clubs. If you like Italian food, I can recommend Buonosera restaurant. You will not forget your stay at Shangri-La Kowloon.
Excellent Hotel with Excellent Location”
Firstly, the hotel is easily accessible. We took airport express to kowloon station and transfer to the free hotel shuttle bus K3. The hotel is also near to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station Exit P1. Although it's a bit of a walk from the station, but it's all sheltered underground. Room is big and clean. Very big for HK standards. Staff are very friendly. From the moment you step into the hotel to checking in. Hotel location is within walking distance to most shopping areas in TST. On the day of checkout, while waiting for the shuttle bus, Mr Rolly helped us with the luggage, chatted with us and suggested for us to check in the luggage at kowloon in town check in services. Definitely coming back in future.
Great location with spacious room and friendly staff”
Our family of four stayed In Kowloon Shangri-La for 3 nights. This was our first time in Hong Kong. I picked this hotel for the room size and location. When we arrived the front desk lady Percy helped us to upgrade to a suite with sea front view. The room was absolutely amazing. The hotel located right next to the bay and the walk was pleasant. All the staff we met are soo friendly. We also had dinner in the Shang palace two nights in a row. Food was amazing too!
Dear Jun, thank you for choosing Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong and for having taken the time to share your feedback. I am glad to read that you had a very good staying experience at the Hotel. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again very soon. Best regards, Conor Hadlington, Resident Manager
Great features, food, location!”
The Kowloon Shangri-la had amazing harbor views and wonderful location in Kowloon. All of the food was amazing including 2 MIchellin star Chinese restaurant, an extensive morning buffet, afternoon tea in the lobby lounge, high quality japanese sushi and teppanyaki, and Spanish tapas on the ground floor--I ate at all because my grandma was hard of walking. If you have business in Central its not too much of a hassle to go back and forth--it's 2 stops away by MTR or about 20 min by taxi. The rooms are generous and large--it's hard to find rooms of this size in Hong Kong!
Can't get any better!”
Shangrila is synonymous to elegance and great service and all of that is reflected in Shangrila Kowloon, although there is of course a price tag attached, but Agoda made it affordable with their special deal. Location is great, lobby is majestic; service is beyond, harbour view rooms are magnificent and there is absolutely nothing to commend in the negative way. Front arrival shows mostly a collection of the latest (very) expensive limousines and sportscars of local visitors and guests, so plenty of pictures to be taken and talking about pictures, Hong Kong is world wide uncomparable when it comes to available camera equipment and which can be purchased in Nathan Road, a nice 15 min. walk from the hotel. Here you can find at least 50 very professional camera shops who fiercely compete with each other so you have to bargain hard and walk away a few times to secure your cheapest price in the world. The ever changing harbour view is awesome and there is no better place to be there than during Christmas with millions of lights bringing you in a Christmas (spending) mood. Hong Kong with its many attractions like Disneyland, Ocean Park, day- and night markets, great food, great shopping for whatever you looking for and an award winning airport, it is an absolute must!!!
Some hotel experiences are like "it was great, but...' Well not the Kowloon Shangri La. I really could not fault it. Delightful staff, fabulous spacious room, great facilities, good location. Our bed was comfortable and the room very quiet. We ate out most of the time so didn't eat at any of their restaurants but they did look very nice. I would definitely stay there if I return to Hong Kong
An absolute gem of a hotel!”
Another delightful stay at a shangri la hotel, really becoming my favourite brand. This one is slightly older then it's sister branch on hong kong side but this is reflected in the price. Although it's an old hotel, the rooms were still lovely, service excellent and I thought you don't get better 5star value than this one. Hong kong is always getting new super luxury new hotels sprouting up and the older ones get less popular, that is fine by me if this is to go by! I will go back again!
Great location and highly recommend”
We stayed 4 nights at Kowloon Shangri-la, very convenient with subway transportation. All hotel staff are nice and even with my request to change harder mattress, quick response and action from the reception and housekeeping team. The room is big enough for our couple with 1 kid, and most important demands from my wife is clean and tidy, Shangri-la did perfect! The only dissatisfactions would be 1) the slight musty smell from the corridor, might comes from the carpet; 2) can't change wind direction of the air conditioner. In general, I would highly recommend Kowloon Shangri-la to friends!
The hotel is located in tsim sha tsui which is very convenient. You can find shops and malls within 10 mins walk. The hotel also located in front of the harbor. Very nice view when it is at night. You can see the victoria harbor view very clearly. Also the service is very standard and good enough. As a Shangri La they provide nice services. I enjoyed my trip quite well!
Great location and nice view”
A two day unexpected stopover in HK en route to Bangkok, due to the typhoon. We arrived early and opted to upgrade to a larger room with a harbour view to avoid waiting for the original room. It was a pricey option but the spectacular harbour view was worth it. The room had built in power converters and a printer, so was even able to print our revised flight plans from my laptop. The hotel is literally half a block to Tsim Sha Tsui station, so travelling on the subway very easy. An enjoyable two day stop and would stay at the Shangri-La again.
Yes, this is Shangri-la.”
Shangri-la Hotel is always one of the first choices of my stay. Kowloon Shangri-la Hotel proofs my decesion is correct. Good location, very clean and comfortable bed and room. No complaints about the hotel enviroment. The importment point I want to mention is the free wifi service. You can log on to your internet without any problem inside the hotel. If I have to say one thing that the hotel needs to be improved is that the check in and check out take a little bit long, wasting some time. Anyway this is Shangri-la Hotel.
Excellent overall experience. Definitely lives up ”
This was definitely one of the best hotels i have ever stayed in. it felt nice right from the start when i walked in the front entrance of the hotel as the staff immediately gave a wrm greeting. the reception staff were well-trained and all could speak perfect english. the check-in process was fast and efficient and all the staff were very friendly and helpful (big contrast from service levels in other hotels in HK). the room was very spacious and i must say that the bed was one of the most comfortable i have ever slept in. the hotel was also very well located as it is walking distance to the main tsim sha tsui shopping stretch and also walking distance from the harbour area and also places like avenue of stars. for a short stay, you wouldnt need to leave the vicinity of the hotel. to go further, the MTR station entrance is literally right in front of the hotel and is a less than 1 min walk away. overall, i enjoyed my stay tremendously and must say that although it was slightly more expensive than other hotels, it was worth every penny paid. strongly recommend this hotel for an enjoyable and comfortable stay while in HK.
The Kowloon Shangri-La is in my opinion still the queen of Kowloon hotels. Service is impeccable, and the rooms are in great condition. Everything works as it should, and the lobby artwork is pleasing to the eye. The subway is very nearby for rapid trips to the Hong Kong side. This hotel is highly recommended.
Great location, friendly staff”
Well, it's Shangri-la, it's Hong Kong, what else do you want to hear? I booked this hotel for my relatives as I've checked it out in advance during my business journey to HK. I was sure they'd love it and I didn't make a mistake. Although it's a bit exepencive but it definitely worth it! Great location, luxiruous service and spacious rooms - everything you can expect from a five-star resort in the center of Kowloon.
