Great Location and Great Atmosphere”
lovely place right on the beach in phang nga bay. view of eroded limestone islands out the front door. very close to james bond island. lots of tours available where the long-tail boats pick you up in the surf. option for private transfer by car and long-tail boat from phuket airport to the beach in front of the resort. food at hotel is amazing, though a bit higher than what you are used to paying in thailand. it is worth it most of the time if you just don't want to bother getting a tuk tuk into town. pricey tours, but owners give business to local community, which has a high poverty rate. don't do any tours with a local named "sod," as he will likely be high on yaba - methamphetamine. this happened to us, and the manager fixed our bill accordingly. do take the half-day tuk tuk tour of the island and get a fresh coconut picked and prepped for you. then go market and have lunch at je taime before riding back to the hotel. make this a stop along a multi-city tour like we did. or just getaway to koh yao noi and hide out for a week or more.

Perfection”
Koyao Island Resort is immaculate and well appointed. It is evident that each villa and all public spaces are frequently cleaned. Intimate in the number of villas but spacious for the grounds. Beachfront swimming should be approached with care as it is rocky in parts. The swimming pool is lovely enough right on the water that I ended up spending more time there, which is odd for me. I usually prefer the ocean. The view from the entire resort is, in a word, stunning. The menu is varied and decently priced. We rented motorbikes from the resort at 450 baht per day which I would recommend as a great way to see the whole island. There is not much motor traffic so one does not feel intimidated. The locals are beyond friendly. It is apparent at the resort, but getting out and seeing the island as a whole will only reinforce this. I have been to several Thai islands, and I can say hands down that this is my favorite spot due to the beauty of the scenery, the people, and its general sweet temperament as a "real" place, not a tourist mecca.

Private Paradise”
We (girlfriend and I) spent 2 days in Bangkok and 3 days in Phuket before our 4 days here on Koh Yao Noi....and boy did we need it! The tourist spots are fun, but if you want to get away, go to Koh Yao Noi, and if you really want to get away - go to Koh Yao Resort. No one bothers you, it's just the beach in front of you from either your bed or couch. If you want to take an excursion, you can do so at any time on your own, and if you want to go into 'town' (you will see maybe 20 people at most in any one spot), you can do that too at any time on rentable motorbikes or bicycles. The front desk personnel were AWESOME and totally run the place, catering to all guests needs in an efficient and friendly style. The grounds and rooms look new and all the little touches are great.

A little slice of paradise”
We absolutely loved our stay at Koyao Island Resort. We stayed in a "Sea Breeze Studio" for one night which was lovely. Although it was an open room without external walls and windows, we were given fans to keep us cool. We thought mosquitos would be a problem but the net on the bed was great. The second night we stayed in a "Beach Villa Suite" which has amazing ocean views (and A/C!). This room was just incredible and we loved that we could walk not even 50m and we were on the beach. The resort was so peaceful and the beach is perfect in the middle of the day when the tide is in. The water is so clear if you stick to the left end of the beach away from the rocks. The restaurant onsite is also amazing and probably the best Thai food we have ever had - big call I know but it was that good.

Stunning views, open air rooms, and friendly staff”
I had a fantastic stay at the Koyao Island Resort. The rooms were beautifully laid-out and uniquely designed in an open-air style with views open to the sea. From my lounge chair near the beach, I had stunning views of the limestone karst formations so famous in the area. Breakfast was delicious, the pool, although small, overlooks the ocean, and guests can use the many bicycles and sea kayaks at the hotel free of charge. I love it! I would definitely go back, but in the off-season, because in high season (November to March) the prices are really steep.

Secluded paradise still exists in Thailand”
Having travelled in Thailand for over a decade, I've seen all too many beautiful tropical paradises transform into mass tourism nightmares. I didn't think that it was still possible to find a secluded 'bouny island' anymore, until I found Koyao Island Resort. It's is a dream come true! The villas are beautiful, the beach secluded (I sawm in the sea for an hour without seeing another soul), no touts constantly trying to sell you crap, and the view is magnificent. You can also hire a longtail boat to take you out to the neighbouring islands to snorkel. The service was impeccable and very friendly. I highly recommend Koyao Island Resort to anyone who wants to have a fabulous holiday while staying as far as possible from mass tourism.

Fabulous hideaway”
We are not for the first time on Koh Yao Noi and can say that the hotel beach is the best, it's so quiet, isolated, picturesque and good for swimming. The views are absolutely fabulous. You can admire the views for ages from the pool, from the beach and from your room. Our room was huge, openair and with a beautiful seaview and lots of space to lounge and relax. The design is absolutely fabulous, the bed is just wow! This is a dream place and is worth every dollar you pay. Breakfast is nice too and the setting is wonderful! It was hard to leave but we'll be back for sure! The sunrise is stunning worth waking up. Take your camera and look better up at the trees, there are plenty of hornbills around! Fabulous interior design everywhere up to small details. Wow! Awesome stay...

Rainy Season Experince”
We enjoyed Koyao Island Resort, but had back luck with the weather during our stay. It rained most of every day so we weren’t able to go on any excursions to explore other islands and were stuck at the hotel. It has little to offer for entertainment when raining and there’s only one restaurant which we grew tired of after 4 days. Our experience would have been much better had we had nice weather.

Great boutique hotel - perfect holiday”
Great hotel, small and private with stunning views of the bay, you can really relax. Food in the restaurant is one of the best on the island and we tried almost all alternatives. Rent from them a scooter and go explore the island. In our opinion this is the best hotel to stay in Koh Yao Noi. Book room/villa number 5 this is the best they have.

Paradise!”
We had an amazing week at Koyao Island Resort. Beautiful beach with an infinity pool overlooking it. Great place for relaxing by the beach but there are also activities if you fancy it. We did the yoga which was a great experience as took place right by the beach. Amazing massages at the spa and the restaurant had the best massaman we’d had in Thailand. Would definitely recommend!!

Ultimate escape with extraordinary view.”
Staff super friendly and will do their best for you. Dining is relaxed and top level Thai cuisine with spectacular views. Bring the kids and big kids (adults) solo, families and couples to quiet beach front with a infinity pool and early Long Tail Boat snorkel tour and sight seeing trip complimentary. I took a cooking class from Mina at her nice kitchen not far tuk tuk ride away. Also rode free Mtn bike around island (approx 2.5 hours) with several stops for beach, pictures, shops and refreshments. 20-30 min Shuttle from Phuket Internat'l to Bang Rong Harbor, 20 min speed boat to island and tuk tuk to Island resort will all be arranged for you. Warm greeting upon arrival and you can ease into island time. WIFI good wifi not super good. A few mosquitos in the area but resort has herbal spray and was not an issue in spacious room with beautiful entwined wood bed frame with mosquito netting and balcony with very comfortable balcony lounge cushions with lush garden views from room 17. Beach front accommodations sounded incredible some with ac. Only 18 rooms? so you'll likely have chance to be on first name basis with staff and other guests, or privacy as you wish. It's a charming place I'll never forget. Only complaint I didn't stay longer. Thank you Donnie and everyone.

Peaceful Place, Wonderful Service”
The Koyao Island Resort offers peace to the weary traveler, wonderful attention to detail and thoughtful and attentive service. I would recommend it to anyone traveling in Thailand who wishes to get off the beaten path of some of the amped up tourist destinations in Thailand and experience life at a slow and lovely pace.

Beautiful hotel on undeveloped island”
We just returned from 4 nights at Ko Yao Island Resort, 2 nights in a family villa and 2 nights at the private beach lodge. Its a beautiful place on an island which is really under developed for tourism but that is a positive! The rooms are gorgeous and are totally open to the sea. there is no door on them, only roll up / down wooden blinds, however we found this lovely and had no issue with it. There is a free safe in the room to lock up any valuables. They also have a lovely infinity pool and the staff are all very nice. The beach lodge is absolutely great for couples wanting peace and quiet all though it is isolated from everything. You may consider renting a motorbike if you stay here so you can come and go as you like. The one thing I was surprised at was how many families there are here. Almost everyone there had kids with them, so it was louder at the main hotel than I had hoped for. Overall wonderful place.

We had a wonderful time at the Koyao Island Resort. The hotel is eco-friendly and cozy, we felt really at home here. staff is really friendly and helpful. make a trip with the kayak or rent a ship to go snorkeling. also to encounter the island with bike or motorbike is recommended. the hotel is very family friendly. cool pool in front of the sea side!

Great hotel to experience Koh Yao Noi”
We enjoyed staying in a studio room. It was like we were in a treehouse and was so beautiful! While there wasn't any air conditioning (studio rooms), the fans and open-air was refreshing. The hotel itself is right on the beach and the sunrise in the morning over the water was spectacular. Restaurant was excellent too! Overall, vibe was relaxing and quiet and hotel architecture was very Thai. The purpose of our trip was to check out the area for a destination wedding. Francis was able to arrange for our transfers to the hotel from Phuket and set up meetings with other vendors so that we can better plan for the wedding. We will definitely be using this hotel for the overflow guests. Thank you Francis, and the wonderful staff at Koyao!

Serene resort”
We stayed at Kaoh Yao Noi Island resort for 7 nights in May 2010 and liked it - a lot! The resort has only 15 bungalows and almost no neighbours, meaning we had a long stretch of unspoilt beach almost just to ourselves. Food at the resort is good but if you get bored eating at the same place every day, there is very charming bar and restaurant called Para just a few minutes walk away (with unbeatable prices). Strongly recommended! During our stay we went on a couple of boat trips with longtail boat. Each time we where picked up directly from the resort beach, very convenient. Only downside to the resort would be that it´s perhaps a bit pricy considering there is no AC, also it seems to be jelly fish season in May. We got burned a couple of times, without any real problems though, just a minor stinging sensation for some minutes.

Beautiful location and impressive hotel”
This is a lovely place to stay if you visit Koh Yai Noi. Koh Yai Noi is a very quiet, hardly developed island and the hotel offers free use of bicycles for guests to ride round the quiet roads, stop at local cafes and discover unspoilt beaches. The hotel also offers free use of kayaks (great fun for older children) and snorkelling gear (beware of the jelly fish though in March). The hotel is managed well with one or two outstanding staff. The food is nice (obviously a bit pricier than local restaurants down the road) but well worth it as the hotel go to great efforts to put on theme evenings, such as James Bond movie suppers in their gardens. There is no air-con in some of the rooms (we stayed in a superior) but this was not a problem as the rooms are fitted with fans and by late evening there are cool sea breezes running through the rooms. We travelled with two teenagers and they loved being able to go off cycling around the island on their own, stopping off to buy ice-creams and generally exploring. I would recommend this hotel for say a 5 day stay - to totally unwind.

Best resort ever tried”
We staid here in January 2010 for 4 nights. It was so relaxing. We most appreciated good atmosphere between the guests and the staff. Everyone is so friendly and the new manager in particular really cares about one's wellbeing. One evening, he organized a bbk in the garden, in front of the pool area and with a superb view into the Bay. During the bay, it is possible to use the bikes and go discover the island or take the canoes and paddle along Koh Yao. We would have staid another few days.

Amazing location, nice rooms and great staff”
We really enjoyed three nights on our honeymoon. The rooms are comfortable even without aircon. The beach stunning and swimming is good even at low tide. The views are amazing! The staff were very helpful and friendly and the GM was always about for a chat. Koh Yao is a great spot and this resort was the best place we stayed on the island. We would definitely come back.
