A rare find”
I chose this hotel based on the excellent reviews on this website, and I had a wonderful stay at this uniquely designed hotel. Hotel facilities : The 9-10 months old hotel is uniquely designed in modern contemporary style, with a excellent mix of the modern twist and traditional local flashbacks. The hotel do provide casual bicycles to explore the rustic attractions around the hotel. Its expecting to install a new lift within the hotel in about a month's time. They are currently expanding their dining seating capacity next door to cater for the weekend crowds from Bangkok. Room : The room was surprisingly large and was tastefully designed in modern contemporary style as well. Standard amenities were provided and the contents provided in the mini-bar were free. Check out the photos posted by them and the rooms are as advertised. Rooftop dining : The small restaurant was nice with a good selection of food and drinks. The seaview was good. Unfortunately, I stayed during the period where the tropical storm was nearby, so did not get the enjoy the "outside" as much as i wanted to. Breakfast spread was not bad. Surroundings : An old seafood market nearby, Monkeys hill, Chinese temple, rows of seafood restaurant, I recommend Tha Rua Seafood restaurant, simply Good, Fresh and Cheap. Staffs : All the staffs working in the hotel were very friendly, have good command of English, took their initiative in conversation engagement, provided guidance about the surroundings and were attentive to details and concerns and were genuine in their customer services. Notably, "Note", who is the supervisor in that hotel is an experienced and friendly chap. He was more than willing to engage in a good conversation and share about the local attractions. Keep it up, guys. Getting there from bangkok (my way): Ekamai bus station, take a bus to Chonburi, tell driver you want to stop at The central plaza Chonburi, transfer to hotel either by Blue songthaew or taxi.
Nifty Hotel in an Interesting Spot”
We had to be in this area for work. I picked this hotel out of the blue. Turned out to be a great choice. Spacious, comfortable and clean rooms. Nice location for the Ang Sila dining and shopping opportunities. Close to the ocean. Easy parking. Decent breakfast. Nice staff. We’d stay again if we had to be in the area.
we love this place”
I booked sweet room for us, we love the room and the sea view. We totally enjoyed the atmosphere of restaurant where is the roof top, with cool breeze and music, watching sunset is a must. Food is tasty and good service. We definitely go back to Kroqu
Comfort, good location and value for money”
Nice and comfortable room. Hotel location is very good and close to Ang Sila market. This hotel is worth staying.
It will be better if hotel provide elavator ”
Elavator needed. Staff also have a good hopitality but sometime they seem more interest in thier cellphone or gossip among other staff. Dinner is excellent with perfect panorama view of Ang sila.
nice hotel with good rooftop terrace”
Our stay was just for one night which was enough for us. What I didnt checked carefully before booking is that ist located at the main road, and not at the beach. We stayed in the bigger room at the front side which overlooked the road and the harbour. The old Ang sila market is on just a 10 minute walk and worthwile making. Contine walking through the narrow streets of Ang sila, which has an unique ancient athmosphere with old wooden houses. Nearby (driving distance) is Wat Namat Kutanaram and a hill on which you can see many monkeys (ling). They were very friendly and easy to approach. be aware of their investication of your car items, like a mirror or rubber
Clean and Romantic”
Our 5th time at the Kroque (that should be indicative of how good it is!) and it was nice. Very clean, courteous staff, and great location. 5 out of 5. Steve A from Boston, MA
Bird view of the port of Ang Sila”
The location worked well for us as we were in between the two areas we mostly visited. Room is very comfy and big, design and decoration are very nice and modern style. Breakfast was ok with bird view of the port of Ang Sila. Staff is friendly but need to be trained up more professional. No pool & parking is limited.
Comfort room”
The hotel is located and Ang-Sila where you won't find any noisy place like in Bangsaen The breakfast is not variety but the taste is awesome The room is neat and clean but you need to adjust the TV swing-arm to watch TV from bed or sofa No fitness room and swimming pool but riding bicycle for free
Not bad but not so great”
We stayed there one night just to enjoy the local scene where the seafood stalls are lined up along the pier. Only 200m away from the hotel, so the location wise, it is very convenient. The room we got had a panoramic view (though it was cloudy) and was clean, modern, but the toilet is only separated by curtain, so basically you can hear/smell your partner's business. I think that the Ang Sila is a great stop on the way to other places such as Bang Saen (2 km away) or famous Pattaya. There is nothing much to do in the evening around there (there is no swimming pool at the hotel and there is no beach in the Ang Sila area) so I recommend to have/buy seafood there and stay in the Pattaya.
Nice hotel”
The hotel locates near Ang Si La seafood market. There are bikes you can rent to look around. There have Chinese temple, restaurants and souvenir shops around. On the day that I arrived, the staff at the front were new so they were quite slow, hadling with document and stuff. I am not sure if they can speak English or not. The room is big and clean. I recommend to book the room with breakfast included. It was better Thani expected. Overall, it is a nice hotel.
Room and service”
It was a great time to stay at Kroque which is real boutique resort. If it has pool it would be great.
Fishing village ”
Bistro was well equipped, friendly staff, food was delicious but out side on main road not much around
Not the greatest for my trip purposes.”
This hotel is high on style, but not great on practicality. For instance, our room had glass walls, but it didn't have blackout curtains. The large tv was wall mounted in such a way that the person watching from the right side of the bed would be looking through a bedpost. The couch set was placed to look out of the window (a view that includes a rundown pier and mucky, trashy waterfront), rather than being in a place to view the tv. The wifi was difficult to connect to and drop a lot. On the good side, the restaurant is good. If I were a solo traveler and had a reason to stay in this area, this hotel would be o.k... but I would need a compelling reason, which I had, to stay in this area when both Bangkok and Pattaya are within an hour.
Nice hotel”
An excellent stay in this hotel for just one night. Staff are friendly and helpful. Them provided us free bicycle for travel around the town and they also helped to call the van to pick us up at the hotel roadside when we returnd to Bangkok.Free breakfast is nice as well. Highly recommend this hotel to all travellers.
This hotel was lovely! Very friendly, lovely breakfast and good evening menu. ”
Good view from the rooftop bar for sunsets over the Gulf of Thailand. And a very tasty coconut shake to go with it. I could not fault this hotel - the staff were really helpful arranging the trips i wanted to do. Hotel was a good base and somewhere to relax.
Valuable Hotel”
Very new stylish hotel with expected standard. No lift at the moment! It is close to many of the popular eating places. Just 5 mins drive to Bangsaen beach. If possible, avoid to stay at the 3rd floor, as there are restaurant above. Sometimes, when tables and chairs are moved, it is a little bit noisily.
Really nice hotel. Lots of attention to detail.”
I've stayed in hundreds of hotels in Thailand. This would be in the top 5. Really nice plants and decor everywhere. Great relaxing rooms. The view from the rooftop restaurant is stunning. The only thing, there is zero things to do at night. Come here for the hotel experience, dont come here for the town ;)
I like this hotel.”
Good style, Good staff, Good room, Good restuarant. Location near seafood market but don't have ATM closely to hotel/market. And it would be better if hotel cleaning Simulation Sand in front of the hotel :)
Spacious Seaview Room”
The room is very cozy with all amenities. The room has no tub but the rain type shower is good. There is a strange big water jar in the shower, I guess it is for a day when water is not running or for a person who wants to experience Thai style shower. In all, very comfortable room with full ocean view. By the way, at night, the street light is so strong, you need to close the curtain instead of enjoying the ocean darkness.
